Ok - some people are going way too far in the other direction here. Do not go and buy and ingest anything made for animals - that is asinine. And in countries most peas are posting from, there are much more reliable treatments and preventive options - like say the VACCINE. BUT, yes this drug does have formulas designed for PEOPLE and has been shown in previous studies to have anti-viral properties. That is factual. Some clinical trials have been undertaken to see if it is effective against Covid - that is FACTUAL. Now the largest has just been withdrawn because of misuse of data, but there are actual real doctors trying to see if particularly in areas where the vaccine is not readily available and effective treatments like monoclonal antibodies aren't available - this drug (the HUMAN formula and dosage) might improve survival. More information including links to the actual previous studies: www.nature.com/articles/d41586-021-02081-w And that’s all great, but it doesn’t make sense for people opposed to an “experimental” vaccine to turn around and be happy taking a treatment that is definitely experimental at this point. Or, for that matter, one that isn’t meant for humans at all. These folks seem to be casting around for any alternative whatsoever to avoid taking the vaccine the libs want them to take. It’s not rational. Get vaccinated, and it’s very likely to matter to you whether or not ivermectin works for Covid, because you won’t get sick enough to need it. Of course it makes zero sense and I stated that taking anything designed for an animal is asinine. But people here posting misinformation also does not help. I want people to get vaccinated yesterday and am beyond frustrated with the anti-vaxxers, but still firmly believe that you cannot fight misinformation with more misinformation. It feeds the rhetoric that information is being hidden from people. People making fun of people taking horse medicine - go for it! But people do not need to try and opine on a drug they have no knowledge of thinking they're helping with misinformation.

Sorry to burst the bubble that Canadians are smarter...my mom is on the hunt to get her hands on some 🙄 we've had too many discussions about all this covid/vaccine stuff (pretty sure she's down the rabbit hole) she's so distrustful of "big pharma" and all their money grubbing, but when I asked about her prescription morphine, big pharma is OK then 🙄. I'm just so done with all of this. I love that people love to hate 'big pharma'. Who do they think makes Ivermectin (or animal medicines for that matter)? Fairies? Monks? (hint: Merck)

You know what, I'm done being concerned if these people remove themselves from the gene pool. Let's get the kids of rational parents vaccinated and move on. Yep. Let their ignorance and idiocy do them in. I just wish they wouldn’t be able to be first in line to get a medical care, hospital bed, intubation, before those who have practiced safe measures-mask wearing, vaccines, social distancing… Not to mention all of our insurance rates are going to go up because of the idiots refusing preventative medicine.

Judge orders Ohio hospital to give Covid patient Ivermectin. Butler County judge ruled in favor of a woman last week who sought to force a hospital to administer Ivermectin — an animal dewormer that federal regulators have warned against using in COVID-19 patients — to her husband after several weeks in the ICU with the disease. Butler County Common Pleas Judge Gregory Howard ordered West Chester Hospital, part of the University of Cincinnati network, to treat Jeffrey Smith, 51, with Ivermectin. The order, filed Aug. 23, compels the hospital to provide Smith with 30mg of Ivermectin daily for three weeks. The drug was originally developed to deworm livestock animals before doctors began using it against parasitic diseases among humans. Several researchers won a Nobel Prize in 2015 for establishing its efficacy in humans. It's used to treat head lice, onchocerciasis (river blindness) and others. www.rawstory.com/judge-orders-hospital-to-treat-19-patient-with-ivermectin-despite-cdc-warnings/Great. Now judges are deciding health care.

My thought too. They should go to a hospital that follows their beliefs, not medicine.
Should he die, I hope the hospital is NOT found at fault. It would be on the judge!

PLEASE find an article about this and share it with her!! They think it's worms coming out, but it's the lining to their intestines. I mean do they believe these "worms" are carrying COVID out in their diarrhea?? Like everyone else here has said...how is that better than just taking the vaccine?

Which makes this story a lot less sensational than the headline would have us believe.

Sensational sounding headline or not, it's still a court / judge deciding health care instead of a health professional (in this case, a hospital professional).

Is that a better subject line?
Unfortunately the subject line is limited .. hard to fit all in.
When I was in the hospital my doctor did not prescribe for me, he was not on staff. They should have gone to the hospital where their doctor was on staff, simple..

Kids fighting their parents for medical care. Hospitals/social services fighting parents for medical care. Families fighting facilities to keep their child/parent on life support. On and on and on.

They should have gone to the hospital where their doctor was on staff, simple.. It's not that easy because most hospitals have gone to using hospitalists and specialists only. If your PCP wants you to have it but the hospitalist doesn't agree or refuses to order it, this is what it would take to get it. This patient may not have had any choice in who was treating them. I don't know the particulars but that's how I'm reading the situation.

As someone with a chronic digestive disorder, the idea of *purposely* taking something that's going to induce similar problems rather than just taking a vaccine and having some flu symptoms for a day is . . . really something else. My understanding is that Ivermectin has been shown to be effective against COVID in doses that would be lethal to humans. You aren’t suffering from covid anymore if your dead. I guess. 🤷♀️

So no longer experimental. Whereas horse paste is potentially poisonous

Better messaging isn't going to solve this problem. As expected, Fox is now blaming Biden for people refusing to get vaccinated. I just unfollowed a guy on Twitter who outed himself as a Covid conspiracy believer, after seeming like a sane human for years. No amount of messaging can fix this level of delusion. Seriously LMAO. It’s Biden’s fault lol.

Use of this drug. Haven’t several of the talk show hosts that died taken this?

I would 100% ignore this directive from a judge....and tell him to call me when he had a medical degree and we'd talk.
First rule for a physician is "First do no harm"

Which makes this story a lot less sensational than the headline would have us believe. Hmm, the hospital staff should just say it goes against their strongly held moral beliefs to give a prescribed medication that they do not believe is effective and has not been adequately researched for this use. Works for the pharmacists who refuse to dispense Plan B medication that is lawfully prescribed. And it is Ohio. I doubt the judge would rule against a pharmacist who was refusing to dispense Plan B.

Another lawsuit. Judge makes different ruling. Patient also other issues, including liver.... An Illinois judge has ruled against a woman who sought to force doctors to provide her unvaccinated husband with ivermectin to treat severe COVID-19, after a hospital warned that administering the so-called "horse paste" remedy would turn the man into a "guinea pig." Sangamon County Circuit Judge Adam Giganti on Monday denied a request for an injunction against Memorial Medical Center from the wife of 61-year-old Randy Clouse, who's been on a ventilator for at least four weeks, according to the State Journal-Register. It's one of several lawsuits around the country seeking to force doctors to provide ivermectin, which is normally used to treat people and livestock for parasitic worms. Ivermectin is being pushed by COVID-19 anti-vaxxers in online forums as the latest version of the Trumpian drug hydroxychloroquine. With doctors and pharmacists refusing to provide ivermectin to treat COVID-19, some have turned to farm supply stores to obtain the drug, resulting in overdoses and prompting a warning from the FDA. During a hearing Monday, attorneys for Memorial hospital called ivermectin "unproven and potentially unsafe." They also slammed Dr. Alan Bain, the Chicago-based telemedicine practitioner who testified remotely in favor of Clouse's wife, saying he "chose to ignore widespread medical advice on the use of ivermectin in COVID-19 patients.""He wants to make Mr. Clouse a guinea pig," William Davis, an attorney for Memorial Medical Center, ,, said of Bain, whom he also accused of failing to adequately review the patient's medical history.Bain never examined Clouse in person and is not his primary-care doctor. But he told the judge he watched a video of Clouse, adding that he has not personally seen 30 of the 40 patients in Illinois whom he's treated with ivermectin. Bain told the judge "he has seen patients either get better because of ivermectin, or the drug has given 'signals' that it is causing some benefit," the newspaper reported. Before ruling in favor of the hospital, the judge said he was surprised that Bain was still advocating for ivermectin even after it was revealed that doctors recently found a cyst on Clouse's liver. On Friday, hospital officials wrote in a written response to the lawsuit that Clouse is "presently improving.""His treating physicians believe administration of ivermectin will likely result in kidney and lung damage, which can lead to organ failure and death," Memorial's response said. "Mr. Clouse already has weakened liver and kidney function (and) ivermectin is more likely to push these organs over the edge."www.rawstory.com/judge-denies-ivermectin/

Awwwe you’re so sweet!! 🥰 Since I’m not working anymore, and am home alone all day, it’s usually the t-shirt I slept in & maybe a pair of shorts. 🤦♀️🤣

Just saw this now. I am so over Republicans and Fox news trying to rewrite history. Covid, Afghanistan, Jan 6 etc. And sadly, their supporters and viewers believe them. Squandering the progress former made? 400,000 dead and the 3rd surge when he left office. No plans for distribution. What progress? And completely ignoring and gas lighting their role in the vaccine hesitancy, Afghanistan and Jan 6. So frustrating and infuriating.
