I’ve kept up this time and I’m determined to finish. Today I’m working on sketch 17 and I was wondering how other people use the sketches. Do you follow them exactly? Do you make some minor changes? Or do you use them as a jumping off point and make big changes? I think I’ve only followed one sketch closely. The rest I’ve made big or small changes. I’m a little stuck on 17. Considering following it exactly but also want to simplify. How are doing overall?

I didn't even try to do the sketches each week. Summer is gardening time. Scrapping is my winter hobby so I am inspired to start in a month or so when the gardening winds down. I love seeing what others do with the sketches.
I typically stick very much to the sketch. Mostly changing embellishment shapes to suit my theme. I love the extra pdf with inspiration on how to change up the sketch based on how many photos and orientation you have. There are always a few that I would never have thought of. Allison's classes are amazing value for money.

I’ve done 5 or so, but really happy with them. We’ve had a lot of company so things have been a bit hectic so hoping to resume again soon. I’m thinking there are probably 5 sketches that aren’t speaking to me, but maybe they will at a later date. I follow pretty closely to the sketch. I’m most likely to change the photo size.

Haha! You are funny! No, I've not kept up - not even close! The last I finished was Week 5. I imagine I'll go back to do more at some point, but I'm not feeling particularly scrappy at the moment. All I really want to do is (online) shop for crafty supplies. The ones I've completed I haven't followed the sketch exactly. I think Week 1 is the closest to the original sketch as I've been, as I tend to go off on tangents when it comes to sketches.

Kept up? I haven't even started! For some reason, I struggle with sketches, but it is something I would like to get better at, which is some of the motivation for taking this course. This summer has been busy with other things, but I am excited by what I have seen so far and can't wait to dig in and make some layouts once fal starts.

I've done roughly half of them so far. There were probably more sketches in this class that were less my style than in the first one she did so I've definitely struggled with them, and as a result some of the layouts I've made are only very loosely based on the sketch. That said, there was one of earlier layouts that used triangles which I really thought I'd hate, but I love the layout I made and can actually see me using this sketch again.

I’m not sure where I left off. Since starting my new business and now being on a DT, I haven’t had a lot of extra time.
I use sketches and scrap lifts on the regular. My creations hardly ever look exactly like what I’m following. They are almost always just a jumping off point. I don’t want to think that my LO looks just like 5,000 others. Not that it matters if it does, but I like to put my own spin on it.

LOL…I’ve done two. I thought this summer would be nice and quiet, but work is kicking my butt and sucking up too much of my scrapping time.

Haven't done a single lesson yet. I was hoping to do this when my daughter starts school next week but now my husband's company said they can all work from home again which means no time in my craft space (we share the 3rd bedroom/office space).

I haven't done a sketch yet. I knew work would be too busy for me to keep up. But I have a winter project

I haven't even printed off all the sketches so far, that's how far behind I am. I really wanted to keep up and do them each week, but medical issues and then vacation have meant I've had a lot less time than I expected. I am hoping that printing off some of my vacation shots will inspire me to get going.

I think I’ve done about 9? I’m planning to finish them all but some don’t “speak” to me so I procrastinate. This weeks I completed several weeks ago because I knew what I wanted to do with it! I have another done “ahead” as well.

For the first 10 weeks I was a star student. I did my layouts on Sunday afternoons and was ready to post them each Monday morning. Love all my layouts, and have used them to experiment with stencils and different products. I almost always follow the sketch closely. Then one of my closest friends and her husband died from COVID within a week of each other. She was one of my band of four scrapbooking buddies. My projects have come to a halt because I just haven’t had any energy left for them right now. I think it will take a while for me to be able to get going again.
That said, I have loved the class and seeing all the variations people come up with. I always see something inspiring.

I HAVE kept up! Today I plan to finish #14 to post Monday morning. If I don't keep up, I never finish! I know myself too well. I've enjoyed it a lot and am already wondering what her next offering will be!
ETA - I don't follow them exactly, sometimes taking bigger liberties than at other times. I do so love that they are always a great starting point, though.

I have enjoyed the LOs you’ve made, and like that you’ve added a focus of using stencils and Nuvo and such. I think having a “theme” really helps me keep going. I did that with the first class and kept up, finishing all 20 sketches and a few doubles. I haven’t even started this one yet! Mainly, it’s because I wanted to finish my Christmas album before jumping in. That’s now finished and supplies packed away, so now I’m ready to start. I think I may focus on school-related LOs, but we’ll see!

I’ve not kept up but I also didn’t intend to. I will work my way through them this winter when I am stuck at home.

I haven’t started yet. I’ve been moving so it’s been not possible as my supplies have been packed away. I’m now getting settled but won’t start for awhile. I’m printing each week and putting in a binder so it will be easier to start when I do.

I've been so out of it, I wasn't even aware that Allison Davis teaches classes. I used to subscribe to the Hall of Fame kits, and I purchased several of the books with sketches. I really like her style. How do I access her classes?

Summer hit hard here (oldest just left for college - Freshman) and my DD has had activity after activity, so I have been busy running around like a crazy person. Looking forward to a more set schedule and people being out of the house so I can have some creative time again. I ADORE her sketches, so I know I will get alot of use out of them.
**I DID get to go to Scrapbook Generations on our way home from a trip to help my in-laws with some things around their house (they are in Texas and we are in Illinois). It was SO good to be in an actual scrapbook store! I bought some wonderful things!

It's a wrap on the class! I did finish all 20. Loved it. And am floundering now with no scrappy mojo! I've pulled down the free sketch from the SG Scrap Squad virtual crop this weekend, but I just can't pick paper...I miss my 6x6 motivation!

I was kind of at a loss when I finished, too. I didn’t know quite what to do without Allison to tell me what to do every week. 😁 I’m back on track now but I hope Allison has a new class for us in the future.

@rush2scrap, any chance Alison will do a different sketch class to finish up the year? A fall/winter holiday themed class would be awesome!

@rush2scrap, any chance Alison will do a different sketch class to finish up the year? A fall/winter holiday themed class would be awesome! After the two Facebook classes (20 weeks each) and all the prep of 10 classes and 8 kits for We Create, she’s taking some much-needed time off the rest of the year. But I know she is thinking/working on new ideas for 2022. Maybe it might work out next year.

Maybe she could do a scrapping through the year class, and the store could sell optional kits for each month (or just one big one at the beginning of the year - papers, die cuts, embellishments, thread, etc). Of course people could use their own stash for any classes as well.

I did not keep up at all, but just having her sketches and the alternative sketches more than fulfills the value of the class for me. She is insanely talented.
