sleepingbooty I'm tearing up a little watching those interview clips. I am going to try to get me some Hallmark this year. It's not in our cable for some reason. I don’t know if it’s available everywhere, but I have You Tube tv which doesn’t have the Hallmark Channel, so the last couple of years I have gotten FrndlyTV starting in October, and then canceled it in January. It is the cheapest option I’ve found for a streaming service that contains all of the Hallmark channels. I think it contains around 20 channels total. I have never heard of GAC Family until this thread, but I just looked, and it’s not on YouTube TV, but it shows that it was recently added to FrndlyTV. That might be a bonus I didn’t even know I was wanting if they also do Christmas movies 😂. Anyways, it has three options ranging from $5.99 a month to I think $9.99, depending on your needs. I do the middle option. It’s $7.99, is HD, has unlimited dvr storage for 3 months, and can be watched on 2 screens at a time. Just thought I’d mention it for anyone wondering about an easier, or cheaper option than switching your main streaming service just for the Hallmark channel.

I think I need to start prepping supplies and maybe even work on the 2020 album…😬 But I finally don’t have to get up early tomorrow so maybe tonight? My oldest is babysitting and I tend to wait up until she is home.

Thank you! I'll look into this. My AE order arrived today. I'm really happy with everything. The red numbers are amazing. The advent calendar is going to be fun. I'm going to start it now so I'll have it all before Thanksgiving when I start working on the book full steam. I bought the time stamp on clearance and two of the Progress Not Perfection shirts as gifts for my daughter's dance teachers. They are very nice.

If I ever cut the cord, I'm definitely getting FrndlyTV!

I do wonder if I can watch Frndly on my iMac upstairs? Hmm I need to check that.

It's not as though I've been watching all the Signed, Sealed, Delivered movies while I should be "working" from my home office or anything

I think I need to start prepping supplies and maybe even work on the 2020 album…😬 I'm really ready for this but still no sign of my DD supplies. Still "active" since 10/5. No emails or anything, so I assume I didn't order something that they're still waiting for. I got a shipping notice from color cast designs, though, so something will be here next week. I wish I had ordered the FYC instead. Then I'd be well on my way.

I have one Hallmark channel which is probably enough for me but I shared with a friend who doesn't have access to any. That price is pretty decent, especially if you only sub for a couple of months per year.

Ok, hopefully this works out as a way to share a little bit of what JYC looks like. I've set up a google drive folder here to share a few pdfs from previous years. LMK if you have any other questions. ETA: updated the link so you shouldn't need approval! Thank you for sharing the samples. I petition for this to be added to the first post. The class and resulting album will be my Christmas gift to myself. Note to other Canadians paying in GBP is cheaper than USD by almost $6. Did anyone take Share Your Christmas? I am considering it too.

Hallmark is dropping more previews and chocolate fudge me, Güero from Queen of the South stars in one! Whaaaaat... From drug smuggler to gingerbread nibbler (no, that's not a euphemism ). NEXT STOP, CHRISTMAS (ah, jumping back in time to fix mistakes, a classic): GINGERBREAD MIRACLE (Güeroooooo, gingerbread is not code for a brick of cocaine, what are you doing here?):

Did anyone take Share Your Christmas? I am considering it too. I signed up for it last year but I think I maybe only watched a couple of the lessons (but that was a combo of getting married and moving, not the class.) I bought it wanting to support Shimelle and knowing it is another lifetime access class, so while I probably wouldn't use it much the first year, I'd have another chance to dive in. I remember enjoying the photo and editing tips a lot. Hopefully someone can jump in who did more of the lessons but I enjoyed what I did manage to view. The value on her classes is always there for me. My style is completely different but I always learn something in her classes. My Papper Issues order came and I am so glad I scooped up the Elle Studio star alpha stamp. I feel a little guilty getting it at half-off since it was a new release. I'm not much of a stamper but hoping to play with this one soon. It's really cute. I'm up to day for 14 in DD. I haven't had much time in my studio lately sadly. I'm hoping to spend some time when we get back from the Pacific NW where we are doing some house-hunting. I'm really hoping I can get 2020 finished by the end of November. I've put in a for a week off during Thanksgiving so I'm hoping that can be my final push. Throw on some Christmas movies and get her finished.

The lessons she posted were really cool, she put a lot of work into it, but near the end she had some things come up where she wasn't able to do what she had planned/life got in the way and she said she'd do more and then nothing really ever came of it... if you follow her you know how it usually goes. Christmas is a really busy time to be running two classes with daily content updates so I wasn't terribly surprised. I checked my emails and we ended up with 21 days plus a bonus late prompt that promised more but was just a one-off. 17 were sent before Christmas Day, a few more after. It was probably still good value for money, especially compared to some other classes out there. It was probably especially good for people who love Christmas but don't scrapbook, which was the purpose of offering it - for the people who want to post cool Xmas things to their IG or make videos or just take better pictures. My memory of it was probably colored a bit by it being a downer of a Christmas in general. I didn't regret spending the money though.

I’m sure it’s easy, I just haven’t made the time🤦♀️

I'm unimpressed with the sneak. I can do all of this in Canva and Photoshop. I feel like this is more of a newbie class, personally. Maybe that sneak only shows the simple stuff?

After seeing some of the examples you can tell many of those cards are teaching you how to load the downloads into the program and move'm around a bit to add text. The most intensive thing there is probably the different "MERRY"s. But from the moment it was announced I assumed it was a basic/beginners class. Especially with it being their first one.

In regards to the Canva class, I've watched the first two lessons and agree it is a beginner's class. So far anyway. It's been good for me because I've never really caught on to Photoshop. I actually didn't know what Canva was. It will certainly make it easy to add text to photos and so on. The classes are based around the free version.

k10scrapper thanks for the info, I signed up to frndly. I can't watch on my phone or laptop as it's geo blocked. However, it works fine through the computer we have hooked up to our tv with a VPN. Yay. Time to download that list of Hallmark Christmas movies.🎄

Yes, the Canva class is definitely a beginners class but a pretty good one at that. Whenever I take one of these online classes, I am amused/amazed at the questions which arise and admire the patience of the instructor who has to answer them all! I'm a teacher/trainer myself and having moved a couple of my classes online during the lockdown - one of which makes use of Canva to create mood boards - I am now in awe of my students who grasped the nettle and jumped right in there at the deep end without any hand holding or being shown how it all works. I find it to be a very intuitive interface and surprisingly powerful, given that it's free and it seems my students found that too. I enrolled at the discount price because I was interested to see how she was going to use the program for scrapbooking/journalling and so far, I'm finding it interesting, even though I don't think I've learned anything new.
It came with a package of digital files to use with the class but I find them of little use because of The Handwriting which I don't wish to include in my journal. One fun tutorial posted this morning was how to create our own canvas phrase strips, since they sold out pretty quickly from the store. I wonder how many more tutorials will enable us to "be inspired by" products we didn't/couldn't purchase?
ETA: it appears a tutorial to create the little folded window pockets is on the way ;-)

How do you feel about learning from a book? I'm completely self taught in photoshop and elements by using books by Scott Kelby. They are fantastic. Breaks down the how and why in simple, easy steps. He may have online classes as well.

Ugh. I just finished watching Boyfriends of Christmas Past. Ugh, triple ugh. I wanted to love this so much but a word of caution, this is clunky. It's a bit of a mess all over the place: script, acting, editing. Raymond Ablack does TV drama well. Heck, he's done Ginny & Georgia and MAID for Netflix this year alone. But even he was unsettled in this movie. This is one I really looked forward to. The Christmas rom-com vibes are not good right now. A nd to make things worse, this one has a 1-year-later epilogue, yikes.

My husband loves to watch the HCM's with me but, when he saw the preview yesterday, he immediately said that he didn't think it would be any good. I'll just delete it and watch last night's movie I recorded.
