What was the reason he police were there if they weren't going to do anything? Wasn't their job to assist in keeping order? Someone was assaulted and they did nothing? Fucking useless cops. At last months meeting the other group banged on the doors or the board room, tried to get in, ripped down posters, and made threats. We think they didn't do much other than remove people to keep the peace and meeting going. As well as everyone I side safe. These people are nuts and our safety was at stake. So I’m wondering so much for peaceful protest. These cult trumpers, anti vaxxers are all about violence, threats, bullying—just to get their way. |

I am so angry this morning. My rural school board voted last night to make masks optional. I knew this would be the outcome which is why I didn’t go to the meeting. I am a school employee and was afraid that I would have made local headlines or been thrown out. I am revolted and disgusted and am so close to quitting after 21 years as a lunch lady. The only thing keeping me from quitting is that school starts on Monday and I can’t do that to my good boss. I my have to take Xanax today, I am that infuriated with the willful ignorance and utter stupidity of the people in charge.
Bet I have lots of time off when my primary school quarantines…..I give it two weeks at most.

Well I go for a PCR test today. Came down with a sore throat, stuffy nose, and tiredness yesterday. So taking a test to verify one way or the other.
Even though I am 98% sure its my allergies (Aug - Nov are my peak months), I was around a lot of people, not all masked, and well its the right thing to do. 98% because stress does this to me too and I have been stressed.

Even though I am fully vaxxed, I am planning on masking and distancing regardless of who else is. I do wash my hands many times during work hours. Oh and two of my crew of 4 are unvaxxed, one is anti, the other had COVID pre-vaccination and thinks she is immune. You can’t imagine how pi’s*ed I will be if they get sick and we 2 vaxxed employees have to take up their slack. SMDH. I also wonder if teachers will be “allowed” to remind masked kids to wear their masks or wear them properly. |

We know people through my husband's business that went to protest masks at the local school board. Thankfully they lost and city schools are requiring masks. County schools are optional and from what I can tell from FB photos, no one is wearing masks in private schools.
Those people we know came in with a medical mask exemption after they lost. They had been wearing masks before that when they had to.

If this woman dies if COVID, the gene pool will be better for it. And I seriously hate that I’ve become a person who even has that kind of thought. The person who runs that group is crazy. He pointed a gun at Cuomo on IG, has shown off his weapons. And he showed up with a huge knife and got caught. I just......no words! When it was time for the pledge people didn't stand and his group went crazy. They yelled and barked to stand up. So much for freedom right?! Say what now? BARKING ? It was so bad then when I spoke and heard what they were saying I began to shake and cry. But I finished my speech. I'm so sorry, that must have been HORRIBLE !!! So you know those videos going around where a mob goes crazy and acts like a spoiled teen toddler on steroids? Well I spoke at one. Wasn't as crazy but had its moments. I am part of a group for safe schools in my city and about 40 of us showed up. 25 of us spoke. Due to previous issues at last months meeting, it was moved to a high school. PD was at the gate and we had to follow a gated path. At the entrance we could get our I am vaccinated sticker. Then we had to walk through metal detectors. Then we signed in to speak. The cards were time stamped and marked pro or against masks. We were let in an hour before the meeting started to sit down. The no mask, let them breathe group protested outside to Pink Floyd music. The person who runs that group is crazy. He pointed a gun at Cuomo on IG, has shown off his weapons. They were extremely rude and caused delays with the meeting. Our president had to hit the gavel a lot! When the mask side spoke they booed us, laughed at us, heckled us, used derogatory words, interpreted us, and yelled over us. They also coughed on us. It was so bad then when I spoke and heard what they were saying I began to shake and cry. But I finished my speech. They belittled the board, made open threats that they were coming for them, and kept being told to put their masks on. The guy who runs their side was going after one of our guys. A group came over, sat around him a d poured water on him. We are upset PD and board did nothing. We are currently voicing our anger at it all. When we got up to left they screamed at us and followed up so PD escorted us out to our cars. They have since made fun of me and my group on social media. These people think that the board can't call a motion or vote without them. They think they can just remove these people. Their goal isn't masks/no masks orstudent safety. Their goal is to over take the smaller local boards. Then city. Then county, then state. They think they can get back to Trump land. There is a bigger fight on our hands people. A huge one and we need to show up and support our boards who follow safety protocols and show up and VOTE. We are already planning for next months meeting. Oh and our board unanimously voted for the cabinets safety plan! Thank you for being brave. Most of the normal folks aren't speaking up at local school board meetings. That needs to change, you knew it, and you did it. You are amazing. Thank you for considering the greater good of your community and working to make sure people are safe! |

And, if you happen to be a member of a union, consult the reps. No union? Gather fellow like-minded employees and co-write a letter of concern to the school board and admin. Ask about the legal and insurance implications of not following CDC guidance. Express your concern about how that might impact the ability to keep school open, employee retention, and health insurance. |

Some districts in AZ are requiring masks, others are not. In the ones where masks are optional, there are already massive breakouts - hundreds of students and teachers and staff - and they are quarantining entire grades. One school has already gone to remote for a week to try to get it under control. One district has sent a letter home begging parents to have their kids wear masks because otherwise, they are heading towards going back online. In my district - where masks are required - we are having a slightly better time. I know that there are kids who have tested positive and I have 4 who are out for 10 days because they were exposed. I'm sure the number will go up. But we aren't in the hundreds (yet). As of Thursday afternoon, our dashboard shows 9 positive cases at my school, out of nearly 3000 students. The kids are being SO good about wearing their masks. We are also offering vaccines on our campus every Wednesday afternoon - no parent need be present, they just have to sign a permission slip. I gave out 3 yesterday for one boy and his sisters. |

I don’t know about all districts, but at our school board discussion meeting last week, they said that it would be unlikely that teachers would be involved in trying to pay attention to which parents want their kids to wear masks or not. My thought is that if they make it optional, there will not be many wearing them. The kids whose parents want them to wear them won’t because if others aren’t, they will feel out of place. Or the unmasked will make fun of them. |

I HATE how this has made me so anger and bitter against these people! Our country has gone CRAZY! Yet, there are STILL people who are fans of that disgusting cheeto !!! I lterally feel like we've all been in a horror movie---I am always telling DH---"when do we get to WAKE UP from this dream, because it CAN'T be rea! " Maybe it is time to split the states into two separate countries so we can all live in peace. I predict the "anti everything" masks, vaccines, and science, people will eventually die out from the delta strain before too long. Until then, they can do away with all of the societal safety measures. No seatbelts in their cars. They can shop shirtless and shoeless. Talk on their cell phones while driving. No vaccines of any type - bring back polio, mumps, measles and all the harmful diseases. They can be as free as they want to be until they are struck down by disease or fly through the windshield EXACTLY !!!! I also cannot understand the HEALTHCARE professionals who are anti-Covid vaccines, because to work in healthcare, you MUST have every. single. freaking. other. vaccine. Did they refuse those, too?  |

I am angrier now at the anti-vaxxers and the no-mask freedumb crowd than I was during the height of the first wave of the pandemic. I used to love my rural town and my community, but now I have such disdain for the way so many people are responding to the pandemic that it is changing the way I feel about a place I have lived in for over 35 years and for many people I once thought well of. It is purely willful ignorance, and trump was and still is the catalyst for that mindset. Also infuriating to me is that many of these folks are so-called Christians who insist that they are pro-life. Hypocrisy at its finest. I think things will get worse before they get better, and I may have to take a break from all of the social media/online stuff, as much of it ends up being adversarial and upsetting for me. I want to stay informed, and I have recently discovered PBS News Hour. I may limit myself to that and see if I feel any better by not exposing myself every day to rampant local COVID stupidity. |
