Dh and I were discussing this topic today and how all these "deals" were made when Trump was in office. Then he purposely held back intel during the transition. Could it be that all the intel they had pointed to the very thing that is happening now as the outcome? Could it be they purposely waited knowing this all would blow up in Biden's face...and possibly turn the tide back to the Republicans? There is not a doubt in my mind that Trump and ilk would use thousand upon thousands of Afghanis as pawns. Did they set him up? I mean there are just too many things that don't add up to me. I am definitely not a conspiracy person, but damn... I woukd be surprised to hear that this seemingly swift and quick Taliban take over was part of a plant trump, Kushner, Miller, mnunchin, Pompeo and other republicans put into place prior to cheeto leaving in order to cause chaos. The Republican MO has been to create issues that didn’t exist/or exacerbated to swoop in as the only God and Savior who can save us.

Gen Milley just stated that there was no indication to him that there would be such a collapse. Maybe he should have paid more attention then instead of worrying that the military wasn’t ‘woke’ enough. Hypocrite much? Your Orange cheeto god always said he knew better than the generals. Maybe your orange cheeto god and savior shouldn’t have been making deals with the Taliban and Saudi. General Milley was absolutely 100% correct on his statements that you’re degenerating into being “woke”. He had the balls to stand up, speak the truth instead of following the Republican Party line of being ignorant, lying, racist, homophobic, xenophobic fools in order to kiss the ass of a dangerous idiot in office. And because you lack basic reading/understanding comprehension based on your comments of “paying attention”, there is a huge difference in not paying attention and not being provided with any intel that says otherwise, which is what he actually stated.

But somehow it’s all President Biden’s fault.
Once again it may take years to understand just how destructive trump & Co was to the government.

Standby for more.... This is a program that has been on the books since 1952(?). They will not go into Afghanistan. It is to ferry Afghans from places after they are dropped off by our military planes. *** White House preparing to activate Civil Reserve Air Fleet for Kabul airlift out of Afghanistan: report Bob Brigham August 21, 2021 President Joe Biden's administration is "planning a dramatic ramp-up of its airlift from Kabul" by preparing to compel U.S airlines to help transport Afghan refugees, The Wall Street Journal reported Saturday. "The White House is expected to consider activating the Civil Reserve Air Fleet, or CRAF, created in 1952 in the wake of the post-World War II Berlin Airlift, to provide nearly 20 commercial jets from up to five airlines to augment U.S. military efforts to transport Afghan evacuees from bases in the region, according to U.S. officials. The civilian planes wouldn't fly in or out of Kabul, which fell to Taliban rule Aug. 15, officials said. Instead, commercial airline pilots and crews would help to ferry the thousands of Afghans and others who are stranded at U.S. bases in Qatar, Bahrain and Germany," the newspaper reported. The Civil Reserve Air Fleet is currently comprised of 24 airlines and 450 aircraft. Of that, 413 aircraft are in the international segment, with 268 in the long-range international section. "The U.S. Transportation Command, part of the military, has provided an initial notification to airlines that they may told to implement the reserve fleet, the U.S. officials said. White House, Pentagon and Commerce officials hadn't yet issued final approvals for its use, and alternative options still could be instituted, the officials said. The possible use of CRAF hasn't been previously reported," the newspaper noted. www.rawstory.com/kabul-airlift/

You betcha Sen Tillis . Tell us how Biden is failing... Maybe you should talk to former about what he did to the SIV system.. but what does it matter, Tillis and his buddies don't want those Muslim brown people to come here any way!!! Maybe you and the others should have paid attention to what former, Stephen Miller, Pompeo were doing on your watch!

As an aside, I volunteered in a refugee camp on the Greek island of Lesvos in 2016. I met and talked to a number of Afghan interpreters and military men who had worked with the US military and had been abandoned by them. They were trying to escape from the Taliban then.

Interesting article on where the refugees are going to escape the Taliban. Portion of BBC article Where do Afghan refugees go? Neighbouring countries Pakistan and Iran saw the highest numbers of Afghanistan's refugees and asylum seekers last year. Almost 1.5 million fled to Pakistan in 2020, while Iran hosted 780,000, according to UNHCR figures. Germany was third, with more than 180,000, while Turkey took nearly 130,000. When looking at asylum seeker numbers only - those who have applied for sanctuary in another country but whose claims have not yet been granted - Turkey, Germany and Greece top the list, with about 125,000, 33,000 and 20,000 respectively. Although there are no Afghan asylum seekers in Iran, those with refugee cards - an official document recognising their status - are able to access the country's health and education systems. www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-58283177

Little update..
In a rare move, the US government on Sunday activated the Civil Reserve Air Fleet, obliging commercial airlines to support the US evacuation operation in Afghanistan. *** A total of 18 aircraft from six US airlines will be affected by the order, according to the Pentagon. These planes will not fly to Kabul, but are to be used for the onward transportation of evacuees from their initial destinations, such as Germany and Qatar. This will free up US military aircraft, allowing them to focus on airlifting people from Kabul.

He’s right…
Sometimes I think this was the reason President Obama “kicked the can down the road” after bin Laden was killed. But not being part of the decision making process I really don’t know. Just my feeling.
But at least he didn’t make the decision to negotiate with the terrorist group The Taliban.

I wonder if him and his buddies would include kids as part of “killing everyone I see”? Fox News, just like former, always continues to sink lower. Just when I think they can’t get any worse, they do. Former embarrassed the US on the world stage on a daily basis, but they never called out his actions or stupid comments. Admittedly, the withdrawal from Afghanistan has been a disaster. But, Fox News calling out Biden for being an embarrassment in their caption or chryon? The hypocrisy is unbelievable.

With trump there were legitimate criticism with what he did and said. Even an idiot, if they were honest with themselves, could see that trump was not only incompetent but boring on being corrupt.
I’m not saying there may have been something that could have been done better but this second guessing by the experts is not helpful in finding out what happen and if it could have done better.

Just a blurb from MTG. Of course she has no knowledge or interest in the cost factors involved. Why waste the time and emerge to provide security. According to Greene, Harris should be impeached for not going to Kabul during the evacuations. "For her to not speak out about this, for her not to fly over to Afghanistan to the Kabul airport is disgraceful, and unforgivable. She should be impeached as well," said Greene. "All of them are complicit in this. And they knew. They knew." www.rawstory.com/marjorie-greene-impeach-kamala-harris/?cx_testId=15&cx_testVariant=cx_1&cx_artPos=0#cxrecs_s
