We’re driving home from vacation and I return to work Monday so I’m doing a bit of internet shopping. We’re not allowed to wear jeans like last year (except Fridays) and unfortunately I’ve put on a few pounds so I need to buy a few new things whether I want to or not.
I picked up a basic black tank dress (easy to mix/match and was on sale 😉) but that’s it so far.
Anyone else shopping? Find anything fun?

Not me, haha, I would live in summer clothes all year! I love shorts, t-shirts, flip flops and wear them as long as I possibly can. I haven't been able to find jeans that look decent on me. I don't like the feel of "tight" clothes, so that's part of the problem. I wear sweats way too much in the winter because jeans make me feel so uncomfortable. It's to the point that I dread going anywhere I have to look nice for in the winter. I feel so much more confident in my summer clothes. I really need to move to Florida! I am already sad about summer being almost over. I countdown until spring!

I’m ready! Fall is my favourite season and I LOVE fall clothes. I’ve been buying lots of cashmere and need a couple pairs of boots. I also ordered a cute hat yesterday, a black rancher with a tan band. Fall can’t get here soon enough 🍂🍁🍂

Heck no! Fall doesn't hit here until late October, early November. Shorts and tee shirts only. Sometimes even into December.
Of course fall is tee shirt/jeans, jeans/sweater, jeans/hoodie, and sometimes legging or sweats and a hoodie.
I do enjoy shopping for pretty, soft sweaters but don't start till October.

I posted about a month ago about that Wool& 100 day dress challenge. I ended up ordering a dress and it has been on back order until August 27. I did join the Facebook group because my curiosity was peaked. And I've been pleasantly surprised by the group. It's really a fun, supportive crowd over there. I've decided that I'm going to try the challenge with the idea that it will be something of a social science experiment. I don't know if I will make it 100 days. In the interest of sustainability (which I have been learning a lot about), I've decided not to purchase anything else to go with my dress but just to use what is already in my closet. I do need a new pair of black or gray shoes suitable for fall/winter (unless I wear boots) so I may buy myself a new pair of shoes. I'm waiting for Jambu to release their fall line. Jambu are my favorite shoes. And I did order myself some new tights as Michigan weather practically demands it in a dress in winter and all my existing tights (I wear dresses a lot) were a bit worn. Next weekend, I'm planning on sorting my clothes closet. I will donate things that do not fit and organize everything I think will go with my dress. I'm rather looking forward to this challenge. I'm curious to see if I can stick with it.

If you care about fashion trends…high waists and wider legs, printed pants, sweater vests (huge this fall), lavender, and head to toe denim (but you can’t wear that to work).
Straight black can look like someone trying to look slimmer - so go with nice prints and sweaters or jackets to layer.

At 5’1” I simply can’t pull off high waist or wide leg.

I haven't really bought anything new since Covid began even though I have been teaching face to face for the most part ... I have a bit of extra money right now so I'm starting to shop for a few things All I've ordered is a really nice rose colored long cardigan (pink is my fav colour) and a burgundy blazer ... today I'll be buying new black Lululemon yoga pants ... it sounds weird but my teaching "uniform" actually consists of yoga pants, a top and cardigan or top and blazer or tunic sweater and a pair of cowboy boots ... it's weird but it is my trademark I like summer clothes when I'm home for summer but I prefer Fall/Winter clothes for work

It's roughly the temperature of the surface of the sun here. I picked up a couple of light, cool dresses to add to my school wardrobe in the end of summer clearances. Other than that, I'm committed to no clothing purchases until the weather gets cool - usually around November, but no guarantees.

What is this "fall" of which you speak?
Fall lasts about 1 day here, so, no a fall wardrobe is not an idea for me.

Fashion trends only work if it suits your body. With that said, I personally prefer a higher waist to avoid a muffin top!

I am ready for Fall! I have one more summer trip and then I will officially be in fall mode. I love Fall clothes. I was at the Galleria last week and saw lots of denim chore coats. Also saw lots of clogs, and heels on boots. Chore Coat Example

I ordered 2 more pairs of Vuori joggers last night 😂
I’ve got plenty of fall clothes the only thing I’m thinking of getting is a new pair of low boots/booties.

Me,me,me! Fall is my most favorite time of the year. I love everything fall. I especially love fall clothes. I’m on the look out for a sexy/edgy pair of shoes/booties with spikes on them. Although, they will have to be platform or wide heels because I never learned how to walk in heels (not the goth looking shoes). I never found those giant pussybow blouses I was looking for last year so those would be nice too. Maybe they are out of style but I don’t care. I’m dressing for me and I find them cute.

I just kept two new, light weight cardigans and a burnt orange/floral kimono that I received in my stitch fix box this week. I needed to replace a couple cardigans that had seen better days, so I was glad to get them in my box now (even though it’s 100 degrees and the air quality is crappy with smoke). Our weather can change on a dime in September to full on fall, so it’s good timing to receive them now.

My girls have been buying jeans in the men's dept for a couple of years now and I love my new jeans - I've NEVER had to only try on one pair to find jeans that fit. And they have pockets - good pockets - and they are long enough without being too long (I'm 5'8" 32" inseam - regular are too short, tall are too long). They might not be fashionable but they fit! (and the girls report they last longer also - better denim). I have some fabric and some pdf patterns but no sewjo...

It doesn’t start cooling off around here until mid September at the earliest. However, around September 1st, I start wearing short sleeved, cotton tops in Fall colors, olive being my favorite. I have several light weight dresses in Fall colors that I wear as well.
While I agree that high rise jeans and wide legs are really hot right now, I noticed that there were a lot of skinny (not super skinny) and straight mid-rise jeans in the Nordstrom Anniversary sell, so I don’t think they are out of style. I think this is a great time to wear the style of jeans which flatters your body the most.

I wear my charcoal gray pair so much I figured I should buy 2 more pairs (black and plum) for hygiene’s sake 😝

I'm doing another closet purge and thinking of really pairing down since I don't wear half of what I own. For fall and winter I tend to layer my tanks and summer tees under a cardigan. I don't like heavy sweaters so the ones I do have are more lightweight. I also own a nice selection of bootcut, skinny, ankle, joggers and legging bottoms. I bought several pairs of booties last year that I still really like so I shouldn't buy anymore shoes. I'm also good with my fall and winter coats.

I wasn't sure if I should go regular length or longer. Then the reality of spending my days with 20+ unvaccinated kids wearing the same thing day after day started to feel kind of gross. I like fall clothes and am an annual member of GYPO, so I'll use that as my guide to shopping. I think this will be my last annual membership.

I am working a hybrid situation in an office so I don't anticipate getting too germy/smelly and I can wash it and hang it on my line overnight to dry without a problem and on the regular. I went with the charcoal gray because I felt it was a very versatile color for the challenge. I did order my DD one of these dresses after she expressed interest in one. It came yesterday and it is a very nice dress. So even no challenge, I think it might be worth your while to try a dress if you liked them. Very soft and comfortable.

She got a Rowena, regular length. I ordered a Maggie. That's what I'm waiting on. I also got the regular length but I am only 5'3"
