I was just thinking this. If he didnāt think it was a big deal, he wouldnāt have had the third dose and wouldnāt be getting extra treatment if he is asymptomatic. He is definitely giving the opposite message to the rest of the state.

Three doses of vaccine, asymptomatic case, and rushed out to get monoclonal antibody treatment, but thinks it's perfectly safe for your child who can't be vaccinated to go to school without a mask. Fuck him.

I don't think I could ever wish anyone bad health. Even if I didn't like them. What if they were indirectly responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of people through negligence driven by greed?

[snip] You have to give your name and info so I would think they would check before giving you a dose even if there are extra. Are all vaccine providers able to access a data base that includes all other providers? Is that a Texas thing? If you (the institution, not person) received vaccine in Texas you had to be registered in Immtrac2, which is the Texas immunization data registry, to report your doses. Everyone who got the vaccine had their information reported within 24 hours of receiving the dose. If an institution was not registered with this, then they were not eligible to receive vaccine. So the information is there, but I don't know if it's being accessed before the third dose is given.

We have an update!! BTW: monoclonal antibodies are only considered 'investigational', not even up to experimental... As it turns out, DeSantis' No. 1 political donor has invested nearly $16 million in shares of Regeneron Pharmaceutical, the maker of the monoclonal antibody treatment. The Sentinel reports that Ken Griffin, the CEO of Chicago-based hedge fund Citadel, has donated $10.75 million to a political committee that supports DeSantis. Meanwhile, Citadel has $15.9 million in shares of Regeneron Pharmaceutical, according to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. *** Regeneron treatment costs the federal government (we, the taxpayers) more than $1,000, while a vaccine costs about $25.www.rawstory.com/desantis-top-donor-has-invested-millions-in-antibody-treatment-he-s-been-promoting/elaine

I don't think I could ever wish anyone bad health. Even if I didn't like them. neither would i BUT i hope that him being asymptomatic doesn't make his supporters believe they will be too or that the virus isn't as bad as everyone says it is. even if he did get sick, i'm sure he would get far better care and treatment than other people in the same position. he will not have to worry about finding an available bed in ICU. he will get additional medication that regular people will not have access to. he's lucky that he's asymptomatic but many many others will not be.

This doesn't sound like karma at all if he's doing just fine and got the antibodies right away. It sounds typical actually.

I don't think I could ever wish anyone bad health. Even if I didn't like them. Thatās okay. You seem to harbor a lot of publicly expressed ill-will for a variety of people - athletes to celebrities to family - related to money - how much they have, how much you think they should have, etc. - so, Iām thinking you arenāt really any better than anyone else on this thread.

I'm beginning to hear more and more of breakthrough covid. Apparently , not as rare as the government and CDC saying. Today I learned of another breakthrough case and my sister knows 2 additional ones recently. My son who lives in Colorado has Covid, for the second time. He also had it in February. He is also fully vaccinated as of mid-May. I am so sorry. I hope he recovers quickly. Two of my grandchildren (adults) have had it too, but both had a mild case.

While Abbott continues to receive excellent care in the governorās mansion, nearly 800 patients are waiting for an ICU or general hospital bed in the Houston region. Small-town hospitals with no ICU can't find any beds in the state to which they can transfer their most critical patients.
Most school districts in the area started back this week, masks optional. The largest goes back next week, masks required. Should be fun!

I have a facebook friend who's 22 year old cousin who lives in Texas had to be airlifted to a hospital in Denver CO because there were no available beds anywhere closer and he needs a ventilator. A young and healthy young man.

I also just read via Houston Chronicle that there are now 500 kids under 12 hospitalized for Covid in Texas. The reporter pointed out that thatās about 25 classroomsā worth. Only about half of Texas schools are back in session as of today.

I mean, literally anyone could walk into any target, cvs, etc. and get however many shots they wanted just by saying they hadnāt had one before. We have doses galore to spare. So, while I donāt like the man and didnāt vote for him, I just canāt find any fault with the fact that heās had a booster. You have to give your name and info so I would think they would check before giving you a dose even if there are extra. I expect him to get better care than most and if he was eligible then fine. I agree none of us needs to know how he qualifies if he did. Itās just frustrating to see those that have put roadblocks up get better care than the normal person. Itās a bit hypocritical being for small government and letting locals take control but then he put mandate that effected his whole state with the masks and schools. I know several people who have already gotten a 3rd dose this way or who got J&J when it was the only one available, but then also wanted to get Pfizer and were able to do so. So, no oneās checking anything that carefully.
