Has anyone tried the metal plate mentioned JM's video? I was bummed it was sold out everywhere by the time I watched it. I'm curious if it makes a big difference or not. I've really enjoyed my Gemini Junior, but the plates warping so badly does bug me. I do use the JM "sandwich method". Still wraps more than I'd like. Have you seen her recent video about warped plates? With the hot water? Pretty impressive! I did! I haven't tried it yet but I plan to this weekend. It was that video she mentions the metal plates. I went to buy and they were already sold out. I'm curious if they help too. I'm a lazy crafter. If I could use those instead of having to do the hot water method, I'd happily buy.

Do you mean the ones that cut the double sided dies? I'm a lazy crafter too so I'd love to find them myself.

I may have to start using my Gemini jr again. My plate wasn’t just warped, it had a bubble in the center. After using JM’s hot water technique (had to do it twice) that plate is now perfectly flat again. Yay - and put your dies all over the plate, not just in the middle That will warp big time. (I won’t repeat to turn and rotate with every cut.)

I think I've seen some crafters put their Geminis on a lazy susan/turntable to make accessing the plates spitting out the back a little more convenient. Or at least I think that was the goal.

The warping is caused by pressure. You don't have to use the sandwiches recommended in the Gemini manual. They are overkill. I find that the 2 clear plates and the plastic shim are all I need most of the time. If they aren't enough, I add one extra shim at a time until the combination works. I rarely have to do that. I also use 3 Big Shot plates, fed sideways, in my original Gemini. They work really well, and I have only a few larger dies that won't fit on those plates.

I have t tried it yet, but this video also recommends using just the two clear plates to reduce the pressure/warping. youtu.be/6J85GCOW-ec
