I love those commercials. They crack me up and it's always nice to look at (non-creepy, non-hairy, non-awkward) Rob Lowe.

Huh. I opened this thread thinking no one would like those commercials and we would all agree they are stupid. But here I am hanging out here with that opinion all by my lonesome. Never mind. Move along. Nope, I'll hang out with you!
I don't think they're career-ending, but they're dumb.

Those commercials are really popular and have everyone talking about Rob Lowe. I think he knew exactly what he was doing and made a great career move.

In what universe is he a super star? He played Drew Peterson in a TV movie. I think he's already a lesser actor.

I don't think he's an A-lister, but he was on Parks and Recreation for awhile and is well known. I don't think he's as low as some others on the "superstar" scale. He hasn't done Dancing with the Stars, for instance.

He is well known, sure, and he's still "got it" looks wise, but let's be honest, he's never been a great actor. However, in a towel as Soda Pop Curtis? Heck, I'd have let him fill my tank at the DX and I was only 12.

I really like Rob Lowe (his character in Californication was wild) and those commercials are funny. Definitely creative since they have people noticing and talking.

Hairy Rob Lowe makes me squirmy in a bad way. Normal Rob Lowe makes me squirmy in a good way. And now, you know more about me than you should.

I rarely watch anything live anymore and fast forward most commercials; but I do watch these. I think they are hilarious. But, then again, I think Rob Lowe is pretty dreamy. He looks amazing as himself in these commercials; but I think it's great how gross/creepy/icky they CAN make him look.

I have to say, I was never a Rob Lowe fan, but I do have a new appreciation for him after reading "Stories I Only Tell My Friends" recently. Of course, it's autobiographical, so he could spin it any way he wanted, but he doesn't seem to take himself too seriously.

Although my family still finds the commercials humorous, I'm with the minority that appreciates his versatility, liked them the first dozen times I saw them, & now fast forward through them every 10 minutes. They are on non-stop!

Does not make him an A-lister though. Maybe not. But he did a lot more than play Drew Petersen.

Does not make him an A-lister though. Maybe not. But he did a lot more than play Drew Petersen. Like Wayne's World (hello career revival!) and a sex tape scandal? LOL I'm aware that he has had a varied career, staring as a teen heartthrob (who wasn't hot for him when we were kids?), but as of late he's not doing anything A list and I really don't think he ever did. IMO, he's a decent actor with good looks. Which is why his commercials are funny as he does "hot Rob" and "ew! Rob" without taking himself seriously. Makes him a pretty cool guy, but still, probably not A list.

Does not make him an A-lister though. My son LOVES the West Wing. Between Sam Seaborne and a mother who is fairly in tune with current events and politics so he grew up talking about it over the dinner table-he is going to pursue a degree in political science. So maybe not an A list kind of guy, but definitely one that maybe an impact around here.
