birukitty the peas have spoken and want multiple options for their exchange/swap. The only thing I can control, is to give the peas an unlimited option to sign up for, here, on the board. Since Leowife is no longer on this board, the swap she is continuing is not going to be arranged in this space. Also, the smaller exchange meets the needs of those who do not want to participate in a unlimited version. You'll have to decide how you want to proceed. We are doing our best to give the peas options that work for them. I agree and from this point forward there are truly only TWO exchanges/swaps One by MichyM (smaller group) and one by lisacharlotte. |

Since I read your answer about Leowife's swap not being able to add new members to the Group A list (the original Two Peas swap) since she is no longer a member here I've been doing a lot of thinking. I wanted to be part of the original swap since that's the one I've been part of for the past several years. I'm a very loyal person. I don't like to get into the middle of arguments especially when it's part of a she said vs. she said that I had no part in. I don't know any or all of what happened since I wasn't part of it. Two things bother me though: the fact that Leowife is no longer part of this board and that new folks can't be added to the list which makes your list sound like the best choice for me. So...thank you so much for offering to coordinate the larger, unlimited swap this year. I really appreciate it. It's a big job and I thank you for offering to take on the challenge. It does make sense to keep these swaps on the board here itself. What are your rules for your swap and when is the sign up going to start? Never mind, silly question. I found your thread from a couple of days ago. I'll go and read that one all the way through. |

Thank you to those who responded to the quick email sent last week, and for your messages <3. I apologize if it got stuck in your spam folder. If you participated last year and cannot find the email, send me a private message and I'll forward it to you that way. We do have enough interest to hold the *smaller* card exchange again this year, and I'm happy to set up the signup page for it. There will be a thread about it started later this month (probably 2-3 weeks away) when we begin sign-ups. Hopefully that will allow those who want to sign up for the unlimited swap that LisaCharlotte is hosting without any further confusion! To provide clarity again: this holiday card exchange had about 55 peas last year, and will be limited to about the same number. Thus far, about 25 peas who participated last year have indicated that they'd like to participate again this year so there will be room for others to sign up as well.ETA 9/8: if you participated in the smaller card exchange last year, at this point you don’t need to do anything. You’ll receive a link to sign up via email later this month. A few days later the link will be posted on this site so that any remaining open spots can be filled by other peas. I know it can be difficult to sit tight, but it feels early to me (last year sign ups were during mid to late October), and I have a vacation (a real, honest to goodness VACATION) to take between now and the holiday card exchange sign-ups beginning! That said, if y'all would like the sign-ups to begin now, please say as much. This is not my exchange, it's ours! |

A couple of things.
1. Last January after she left the board Leowife said that she would like to do the card swap with the group that was in the 2020 swap if we wanted to do it again 2021. The choice was ours.
2. A couple of days ago those of that were in the 2020 swap received an email from Leowife saying she had received an email from a pea asking if she was going to do swap again this year like she said she was in January. She said yes if people were interested. If anyone was not interested in doing the swap let her know and she would remove their name. Otherwise she would send details to those of that wanted to participate.
3. Today we received an email from Leowife saying she received an email from whoever is running the unlimited swap saying she was going to do one. Because of that Leowife decided to bow out so her swap is dead.
There was no permission asking or any need to coordinate with a non-pea. There would have been choices for the peas to decide which one they wanted to participate in. Two choices for the peas that did not participate in Leowife’s swap
in 2020 and three choices for us who did.
Finally there is absolutely nothing wrong with an individual, who has done swaps previously on this board, doing one off the board with individuals that had been in her previous swaps on board. They simply would of had nothing to do whatsoever with this board.
Quit trying to make her the bad guy.

No one was trying to make the previous swap organizer the bad guy—peas were simply setting the record straight after another pea posted misinformation on the events leading up to the swap from last year. 2. I didn’t say that anyone asked permission—I stated that no one needed to ask. There IS a difference. 3. No one said that it was wrong or not allowed to do swaps off the board. The comment made was that it was strange. When the thread about the card swaps appeared this year, and current peas began speaking about it, it started all about options for the current peas here with no mention of the past swap until one pea came in with disinformation. 4. Where is your hand-slapping for the one pea who was awful to michym? Where is your hand slapping for that same person driving the misinformation on the card threads this year? 5. LEO “canceling” her swap has nothing to do with this board. It’s HER choice (once again controlling and affecting those who on her list). People on her list and peas here can choose what they want to do all on their own. Obviously, no peas who were not on Leo’s list last year would be able to swap with her this year—they’d all be excluded. what michym and lisaCharlotte are doing is INCLUSION—and not creating drama or cliques over card swapping. 6. Stop trying to rewrite history. No one tried to “make LEO the bad guy”. Last year she did that all on her own. |

Oh please...She is here reading (and I don't really care if she is) and even if lisacharlotte sent her an email letting her know she was doing one, I hardly think that would have precluded Leowife from organizing one outside this board. I did let Leowife know that I was organizing the swap this year. I wanted her to know, there was no drama, she understood, no hard feelings. She's on my personal Christmas list and I think a few other peas will send to her as well. None of this was meant to start drama, but, we're peas. Why wouldn't we turn an opportunity to spread love and cheer and add in some bitchyness also. It's who we are. 😆

Last spring Gar sent me a note out of the blue that she’d been engaged in a “politics” label battle with an unknown pea on a thread of mine from months before. She’d remove it. They’d add it. 🤣 That thread was on page 33, so it had long been forgotten by most of us. Thanks again for fighting the good fight gar. Clearly the politics label lost its value and meaning a long time ago. But there are still some who believe it’s a weapon they can utilize to put us all in our place 😉 |
