I was disappointed when I found out that SSS STAMPtember was about buying, not using stamps. So, just for fun, let’s get out our neglected stamps and have some fun. Please share your projects in this thread. You can make a card, a tag, an entire layout, or whatever you want, but lets inspire one another. Week 1 (Sep. 1st through 7th) Use a stamp or stamp set that you’ve had for more than 6 months, but you‘ve never actually gotten around to using.Week 2 (Sep. 8 through 14) Use your most recently purchased stamp/stamp set.Week 3 (Sep. 15 through 21) Use embossing powder and heat to get an embossed, stamped image; OR use a different way of coloring your stamped image than you usually use (I use Copics, but I could color my stamped image with colored pencils or watercolors instead; this option would be for those who don’t own embossing powder/heat gun). Week 4 (Sep. 22 through 28) Create a card background with stamps, then use a matted and stamped image that coordinates with the background.Final “Mad Dash” creative inspiration for Sep. 29th and 30th would be “anything goes,” as long as it’s stamped. Please share your projects in this thread, just tell us what week you got the inspiration from. I’m my DH’s sole caregiver, so I may not respond promptly, but I will respond. For those doing points for teams, I’ll let grammadee decide what point value to give for each week’s inspiration. I have no idea what to suggest.

How about we treat these like the techniques challenges for points? Week #1: each previously unused stamp used on a project=1 point Week #2: each NEW stamp used = 1 point Week #3. Using heat embossing or new colouring technique= 2 points Week #4 creating a stamped background =2 points. Adding a stamped matted focal = 1 point. Mad dash: Any stamping done September 29&30th = 1 point IN ADDITION TO meeting any of the other stamping challenges.
ETA I moved the link to this challenge to the Techniques section of the challenges.

Here is my card. I bought the Cuddlebug Dragon stamp set back in 2020 from Unity Stamps. My oldest DS is having a milestone birthday in November, and he’ll be old enough that I can give him a bad time about it, so I made this card this evening with him in mind. He used to draw dragons that looked very much like this one. I didn’t like how some of the coloring turned out, so I used Nuvo drops to change it a bit as well as add bling and dimension. I also brushed Wink of Stella on the wings, but it doesn’t really show in the scan.

I seem to be the only one doing this so far. I still hope others will join in, but I’m the one who suggested it, so here is my card for the second challenge, using a stamp set that was from my most recent purchase. I’ve wanted the carousel die set and carousel horses stamps for a long time, but couldn’t justify buying them until they were discontinued, and I got them for a great price.

Last night I used my new Hero Arts Hello stamp and die set on some cards for my 100 day project. Earlier this week I used a CTMH butterfly set I have had since February (possibly January).

Cute card scrapnnana. Like the colors you used for the little horses. When I made my SheetLoads I used the pumpkin stamp and sentimet, I had them for a year or so. I still have to do the one for this week.

Thank you, azcrafty. I’m glad that you and melanieg both got out your stamps and put them to use. I know that for my part, it has felt good to get out unused stamps to make something.

I got out the stamps for Week 1, but never actually made the card. I have crafting ADD sometimes and ended up on an organizing tangent. This week my focus has been on the planning stages of starting a small business, so I’ve been full speed ahead on that. All that being said, I’ve enjoyed seeing what the peas have made in all the different challenges available this month!

Well, I don't have pics, but I wanted to pop in and say that I used my new Taylored Expressions strip sentiment stamps & die to cut out a whole bunch of sentiments, including everyday, birthday, and dog greetings. I've already used a few on cards. Thanks, scrapnnana, for the challenge!

I just found a stamp set that I've never used, and I plan to make cards with it this month. I even have the tin pins that go with it. I can't wait to make those cards!

Cute stamp set, riversong1963. But now you have peaked my curiosity. I have no idea what tin pins are, or why they would go with that cute dog set.

Cute stamp set, riversong1963 . But now you have peaked my curiosity. I have no idea what tin pins are, or why they would go with that cute dog set. Well, the ones that match my stamp set are no longer available (neither is the stamp set), but here's a link to other tin pins: darciesllc.3dcartstores.com/Tin-Pin-Embellishments_c_193.htmlWhat you do is put a glue dot on the back of the pin and stick it over the corresponding part of the stamped image. With my set, it's the snout of the dog. That creates a dimensional look that's really cute. It costs a little extra to mail, but it's worth it for a special card.

I think as long as you are using your stamps, either new or old, that’s what matters most. Too often I buy stamps but don’t get around to using them, and from what I’ve read over the years, I’m not the only one who struggles with that.

I meant to post this yesterday. I did play a bit with heat embossing on Tuesday. What I found was interesting. The embossing powders that I bought years ago at a stamp store or at Michaels, still worked, despite being so old. The ones I bought more recently from Tuesday Morning, and which are not labeled on the jars as to brand, didn’t work very well at all, despite being bought a lot more recently. They were terrible. I did manage to get a decent heat embossing with my decades old white embossing powder, but I wished afterward that I’d used a different stamp. A few of the letters ran together. Anyway, here is my card:

scrapnnana Thank you for taking initiative to celebrate. Your dragon is both cute an gorgeous. I like how he overlaps the frame slightly. Your carousel is so cute and festive with the striped paper to set the tone. Glad you had some fun with your stamps and dies. And I always, always love a good shaker card. It is soooo gorgeous. Lucky recipient. I meant to play along, and then I got distracted by Sketchtember. I've had this stamp set for awhile. It was fun to use it. This is my most recently acquired stamp set.

Very cute, jjpeapea ! The embossed stockings are adorable, but I also really like the poinsettia and green border above them. It looks like you embossed the sentiment, too. Great card!
