Oh my goodness! They are so cute!! I can’t imagine one weighing only 5.5 lbs. Abby is a long bodied, big cat. She weighs at least 13 lbs. and that is after losing some weight lol They are adorable - and tiny. Paddington is actually the bigger kitten at 5.5lbs - she's also 3 weeks older. Dusty was only 8oz when he came home - very young and underweight* - I think he's close to 5lbs now. But yes, our older cats are much bigger. Little Friend (12 next month) is on the smaller side around 7 lbs but her sons (11) are 13-14 lbs I think and Midnight (18-ish) is a big butterball and over 15lbs. *I just posted our first pictures of Dusty when he was first found at DH's office in the Sept sharing thread.

Well ladies . . . been scrapping when I have a few minutes here and there. I've really been inspired to work with the sketchs, some have been more challenging than others. I've even done some organizing too.
I am headed over the mountain to visit my mom & dad. My dad has Alzheimer's at age 95, and my mom is his caregiver at 82. He is starting to NOT recognize her when he gets really tired. All of us kids are worried about her, but she's not willing to put him into care yet. That might be a big part of my discussion with her this weekend. I am also going to contact her pastor that she is close to, and counsels her on dad's continuing care.
With that said, I am going to get WAY BEHIND on sketches. Plus my corn is ripe, and I really should harvest and preserve it!
I have all the way through #14 done and #15 started. Not all posted yet. As I stated at the beginning I was really going to try and do them all. Good thing I will have lots of time next week Th-S when DH travels. He won't begrudge my time in the craft cave!
Have a great weekend everyone!

prayers angel97701 - eldercare is so difficult in so many ways. I hope your discussion with your mum goes well. NO stress about sketches - remember you get a few extra days in october to finish them up for the points I have ONE more layout to do for June 2021 not sure if it'll work with today's sketch - it requires rather a lot of photos which is extra challenging with my smaller pages but if it doesn't work for that, then I'll dig around to find something that will.

Oh Linda they are so cute! angel97701 I hope it all goes well at your parents. It's definitely tough with Alzheimer's and I'm sure your Mum is doing an amazing job as his primary carer. Hopefully her pastor will continue to give her the support she needs, in both the short and long term.

I did so well with the sketches at the start of the month but have totally fallen off the wagon, I think I'm about a week behind now. I'm hoping I can get motivated to work on some tonight, I kind of have a plan for most of them, so at the very least I hope to print photos and pull papers so I can hopefully find some time to batch scrapbook them out this weekend.

Is anyone working on sketches or other crafty things this weekend? I've made really good progress catching up over the last couple of days, I've only got 4 sketches to do, and today is cooler than I thought it was going to be so once I've got some odd jobs out of the way I think I'm going to try and get at least one more done today.

I’ve had Restful weekend with my parents. Mom and I have had some really excellent talks. We have an understanding of what is happening with Dad, and what her options are for his care. We went shopping yesterday M’s, Hobby Lobby, lunch, high end shoe store to look for comfortable dress shoes for me—no luck, then a LSS/art store. Went off the “frozen wagon!” Then today I decided to go back to Craft Warehouse and bought Mom a travel size Tom Holtz stamp platform. We played this afternoon and had a blast. She is more of a quilter but does scrapbook and make cards. She has a few stamps, one small container, and I bought her new inks because all her cat eyes and colorbox ink pads were useless. The stamp platform is a game changer for her!
By the time I get home I will be 5 sketch’s behind!🤐. I’m taking notes, and planning in my head.
Oh and since I was off the frozen wagon yesterday I decided to get an Epson PM 400. As Costco photo printing now involves ordering, shipping, waiting, I was getting annoyed I didn’t have some current photos to scrap.

Hopefully she'll be able to get some respite carers at a minimum.

Don’t give up on me! I printed out the pix for the first 10 sketches and have almost finished the first. I will be getting it done this week! Sorry, so much has been happening the last few including adding a new member to the family—the most hyperactive kitty ever!

Mine just sleeps most of the day, and is in her bed in my craft room making happy noises!

By the time I get home I will be 5 sketch’s behind!🤐. I’m taking notes, and planning in my head. How about being ALL the sketches behind? That's where I am! Well, not entirely true, I have two done lol. I'm so glad you had a relaxing weekend with your parents angel97701 and I LOVE my PM400! The photo quality is great. I was scrapping a few months ago and thinking how great the photos were then remembered I had printed them at home. Game changer for sure! Linda when I host a day during sketchember I start my samples in August lol. katiekaty no pressure! Sometimes life gets in the way, it's ok And you have a little kitty which is a good reason! My senior cat absolutely tries her best to derail my scrapping (or anything for that matter) lol. She's my little shadow lol. Chinagirl828 are you caught up on the sketches? I am in awe of anyone who gets them all or even most of them done! It sounds like there will be a few online crops here this weekend one on Friday night hopefully you can join in. And you as well katiekaty! All pets are always invited too. We love seeing the fur babies! I still have a ton of page kits made up from the crop - I'll be working on those for MONTHS maybe years! And still printing the sketches every day and putting ideas together in my head. I seem to want to scrap when it's time for bed Happy Hump day! I hope everyone is having a great week! I'm ready to scrap right this second but have to work instead

It sounds like there will be a few online crops here this weekend one on Friday night hopefully you can join in. I'm about 7 or 8 sketches behind but I have one nearly done on my desk, and one that is partially done, and I have ideas for at least a couple of the others. We have a long weekend here and tomorrow is meant to be the best weather out of the three days so I'm hoping to do all the cleaning and gardening stuff so I can hide out in my space on the colder days and play catch up. I haven't been great with mornings this last year or so but hopefully I can get myself up and organised enough to join one of the crops.

Hey all! Upload my first sketch layout to the Sketchember #1 thread. Great sketc! Here’s a quick layout of one of the reasons why it’s been hard to get caught on scrapbooking! Meet PUNK, our newest family member! He’s a bit ADHD, 5 months old and adorable as all get out. I am so in love….

Hi all, just checking in! So far I've gotten four cards and 3 layouts done (2 more started). Three of the layouts are directly inspired or following the sketches. For me, this is extremely productive. I've loved getting to see everyone else's work.
My cell phone camera is broken (I can only take photos in selfie mode, which shows anything written backwards), so I can't post my own layouts yet until I either use my husband's phone or I get mine replaced (we're nearing the end of its contract, so I'm trying to hold out!.

katiekaty Really adorable layout; I especially love the black cat die cuts spelling out the name. Anyone get some crafting done this weekend? I spent a couple hours Friday night and then a couple more Saturday morning. Hoping to squeeze a few in today, too!

I'm sorry everyone! I've been completely absent from this thread! I have been scrapping, doing the sketchtember sketch challenges (so far only the ones I was hosting but I'm hoping to do a couple more before October 1). My 6 year old has had a very hard time adapting to in person school this year (she was virtual for most of the year last year) so I've been working with her and her teacher trying to get her to figure out a good way to remember all the things she needs to remember as a 1st grader, plus we are getting her evaluated for ADHD, so it's been busy to say the least. katiekaty - love your layout! and that cat is super cute. Ryann - I will hopefully do something scrappy today with my 6 year old, she really wants to make a halloween scrapbook again so we may start getting the pieces together for that.

I spent some time on Saturday afternoon scrapping. I'm still about a week behind in the sketches, so I don't know that I'll get them all done this month, but I do plan to keep working through them and finish them all eventually. I do have a pile of cardstock and papers and photos on my desk for four or five of the ones I need to complete. I really love sketchtember for getting me scrapping some of the other stories I just don't quite seem to get around to at other times of the year. jediannie I hope you're able to get your DD to settle into school. I can't imagine how tough and strange it must be for kids so young who didn't really have a sense of "normal" schooling before the pandemic. Starting school was scary enough without this added to it.

Ryann - only scrapping I managed was for today's sketch - and once again I was pulling it together at the last minute. jediannie - ((((Hugs))) to your daughter - that's tough. I hope she settles in soon. I'm sure she's not the only one struggling. Chinagirl828 - yay for scrapping. I'm behind also by 7 sketches but hoping to catch up this week. Spent the weekend running around - we took three round trips into the city (1hr+ each way) between getting DD14 gear for her field trip and then dropping her off and picking her up. But my house is mostly clean and after my doctor's appointment this morning, I plan to finish housework up and then scrap.

I joined in on the Friday and Saturday night crops. I'm woefully behind on the sketches but did match pictures to several sketches last night and I will continue working through them through October. I'm not sure where my mojo fairy has gone but I hope she comes back soon. Or maybe I should stop overthinking every page LOL! jediannie that's a lot you have on our plate now. I hope your DD settles in soon. My DGS is a first grader too. It took him a bit, but he's loving school now. And likely has ADHD as well. Both his parents do, so they are prepared to have him tested. We had his bday party yesterday at a park nearby so I have lots of new photos to work with! I've actually gone through more older photos as I've matched up things with sketches. It's going to be good to have those photos scrapped.

I totally forgot about the crop on Sunday (my time) until it was far too late. I did manage to spend one day out of my long weekend scrapping though. I've somehow fallen further behind, but I'm fine with that although I would still like to finish all the sketches.
I've finished up one page tonight, and nearly have another one complete. Is anyone else doing some last minute scrapping before the month is over?

Late night last night driving back 130 miles from an away soccer game in Salem. My mom met us there and got to watch DS15 play part of the game before she had to go home as the caregiver needed to leave at 5. DS played about 80% of the game and is having fun. DSD drove down from Puyallup, so her dad came back with her. It's just a long drive in the dark when you are tired!
Have some chores to get to today. First have to see how my tomatoes fared under the frost cloth. I covered them up mid-day because I KNEW I wouldn't have the energy when we got home! We had a freeze last night. Frost on the grass and deck this morning.
I am working on sketches 24 and 25 . . . so maybe I will accomplish my goal? When do we have to have done? Oct 3rd or 4th?
Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Well ladies, September is a wrap! I created a record number of layouts for one month, 41!!!!!! This is the second highest number of layouts in one month, March of 2020 I created 45.
I earned 3429 points by really digging into my stash and using all those ancient Provo Craft and Hot of the Press papers.
BUT I think I am burnt out, even though I really wanted to get all the Sketchtember sketches done I don't think it will happen by Saturday. I completed 1-25 . . . . I scrapped a lot of photos that were waiting to be scrapped, and many of the sketches don't fit the remaining photos I have printed. Even though I have my new little Epson PM400, I'm not sure I have the energy to select, edit, print, pick papers, and then scrap all by Saturday.
I have garden chores, and soccer mom obligations, plus I am going to actually sub tomorrow. I will only work for teachers I know and can mostly assume that they will have nice kids. Just not worth the energy or $$$. I want to save my emotional band width for my DH and DS15.
