It's been years since we have eaten at Belgrade Gardens, but yes, it is good chicken. May have to revisit it (we live about 20 minutes from there).

It’s a thing.
EVERYONE from around Akron/Cleveland/Columbus knows Barberton Fried chicken!
I cannot eat it anymore because of a new wheat allergy, (and I used to only get their pork chops anyway!) but I love their rice pilaf!

I’ve never had their chicken, but my husband’s uncle owned a meat market in Barberton for decades. I thinks it’s still there, but no longer owned by family.

I grew up just 5 minutes from Barberton. Growing up we ate at one of the “chicken houses,” as they call them, every Sunday after church. Many of my family and friends have held jobs there through the years. We still stop in or get it to go every couple of months. It's just tradition. It seems whenever there is a funeral or some other gathering you can always count on a box of Barberton Chicken and their side dishes being there!
Now I'm hungry for it! 😋🤣

I go to Al’s monthly. We love their cabbage rolls, dumplings, and pierogies. Their so good! I went to high school with the current owners. Now I feel like I need to get off at that exit the next time I go home. |

I wouldn’t be surprised if they use the same recipes, especially since they kept his name on the business. DH’s Uncle Al sold it in 1999. My FIL worked there when he and my MIL were first married in the 50s. |

Ok. Now I’m going to have to make the 40 minute or so drive down there to try this chicken. Lived in Lake county my whole 40 years and never heard of it. Mini road trip time.
