Can you believe we've had a full week of sketches already? This is my first post as host...because there are 5 Wednesdays this month, grammadee took that first one for me - thanks Dee!!! I've chosen this sketch by pagemaps. I chose it because it feels very differently designed than my normal style, with the column down the middle. 5c0f4841175581ebeb811ac13cb7e03c by kirstendrew, on Flickr Here is the page I created using it layout happy little flowerpots by kirstendrew, on Flickr My twists this month will all focus on ALTERING the sketch. Each week, I'll change the sketch in a few different ways and challenge you to do the same. You only need to use one of these to qualify as using the twist (which would be 5 points for sketch + twist) but you can also claim 1 bonus point for each additional option you use: 1. use a different size of photos - they can be wider or taller - while maintaining that central column 2. extend/widen one of the central rows out towards the sides, past the edge of your "column" (like I did with the tag and green row of tickets) 3. add a scattering of something out the sides - I added the mixed media background, but also the splatters and sequins on a diagonal 4. move the journaling - either make one of the central elements a journaling block, or more the block of journaling elsewhere 5. move the title

Ooh I like the twist! I’m always changing up the sizes of photos on sketches or moving the title/journaling.
Gorgeous layout! I really like the mixed media.

Fun sketch, kitbop. And a gorgeous take on it! Love your recipe challenges. Will print off the sketch and the recipe and hope to get to this in the next few days. Hoping to play with paper and glue SOON...

Okay, as justjac knows, one of my favourite expressions is "Life is Short: Eat dessert first." So when I got to scrap this morning, of course I started with the latest photos (taken this past weekend and printed yesterday) and TODAY's sketch. (Oh, and it also has some Doodlebug diecuts that were part of my very last purchase) Can you see the sketch and the twist recipe in the right hand page below? Tipped it on its side. Extended the middle element with the doodled lines. *Think* I got all the other recipe elements...
POINTS: two pages created & shared (4). SKETCHtember sketch (2), twist (1), bonus (5). R-3 six photos (6) and two pages (10) for the Donna challenge, p-3 one pattern (1), P-12 seventeen pieces from Doodlebug pack (17), S/I-2 four rectangular photos (4), C/M-3 some blues and yellows (2), T-6 torn inked edges each page (4), Th-4 outdoors (2), N/S-3 cluster (1). Total: 59

Hey... grammadee...you only need to follow ONE of those items to meet the "twist" requirement I didn't intend it to be a recipe. But for every additional one you get a bonus point!

In my scraproom. But obviously not awake enough to READ INSTRUCTIONS ... I will take the extra points and edit the twist description in the SKETCHtember list.

kitbop , your layout is just stunning. It's a lovely setting for your adorable little flowerpots in their beautiful outfits. I like that there is a posed picture and an in-context one too. Such pretty embellishments. grammadee such joy in your layout and good twisting. PS I cleaned my lens right before I took this photo. I plan on asking for a new camera for Christmas ...

Cool berry picking page, jjpeapea. Love the fresh green with that red gingham and tumbling strawberries. Now I want to sing Strawberry Fields Forever...

lovely layout kitbop -that mixed media background is beautiful. Thank you for the great sketch! grammadee - I love how you extended it into a 2-page layout - love all the farm elements! jjpeapea -love the strawberries scattered on your layout - I always like gingham Here's mine - it was a tight squeeze on an 8.5x11 page with 4x6 photos - I'm claiming the twist with enlarging the photos - not sure I managed any of the others.

jjpeapea I love how those little strawberries lead you across the page, simply lovely! Linda perfect paper choice, I especially love how you've balanced the three enamel dots with the three hearts on the other side of your photos.

Not many of my photos do I deem worthy of a layout just to themselves. But this photo . . . reminds us (DH & I) of when the boys were just a handful. The innocence that shines from both of their faces. When they were well bonded in our family. Alas pre-adoption precognition PTSD and trauma has taken the toll. We must cling to these memories!
I am so pleased that I actually had Pooh stickers in my collection, birthday related, but still. They are at least 20+ years old and I have no idea why I bought them in the first place. So perfect for this layout. All the papers are also vintage Pro Craft.

angel97701, @aussie meg, kitbop and grammadee you have love in the gallery. jjpeapea, what a sweet layout about picking strawberries. I love your quote down the side. Is that your strawberry patch or do you go to a big farm to pick? Mmmm, strawberries. Cute use of green and gingham. Linda, that PL card is perfect for your game night photos. I love your use of blue and green (one of my fave combos) and the matching hearts on the side. Perfect for your family game time. I'm glad you have that time together. Here is my version. I thought it looked so bare in the background so I used a cut file and cut a white on white background. Maybe that was a bit too much. Graduation

I loved the mixed media background on kitbop's sample, and I felt like my page also really needed it - after I'd stuck all my papers and tags down. Also happy to have used some old paper flowers on this!

Loving this! Chinagirl828, that mixed media looks amazing on yours, I'm glad you decided to add it, I think it was worth the struggle. I especially love how you pulled the journaling to the side in strips. nylene - that is SO cute - I don't think it's too much at all! I'm a sucker for texture in the background. It gives that "lush" feel. angel97701 - what a sweet soft page to echo your sentiments. I love the sketchy Pooh drawings, and the honeycomb mat you used for your photo. AussieMeg - Edge strips - why did I not think of that??? I didn't actually notice that this sketch was 8x5.11 until I had already cut my photos real skinny, and thought they looked a little small on my page. So that's how my mixed media background came into play. Love your take. Linda - I love the bigger photo size on the page! It works great in column format jjpeapea - awesome idea to spread out the elements but keep the column. I love the stripey green gives a "softness" to the green that pairs so well with the red gingham! grammadee - I'm in love with your use of the Doodlebug die cuts! Such a cute page, I can smell the air from your photos. And you are a week ahead on my twist: this week we are tipping the sketch over

Y'all are knocking these out of the park!
I started off great, then got bogged down with work after the Labor Day holiday, then a baby shower today (3 hours away), church/session meeting tomorrow morning....
I am printing this sketch and all the others after it so I can HOPEFULLY get some scrappy time tomorrow! I don't want to get too far behind.

AussieMeg I love your happy celebratory layout and I wish I had kept a straight column and put in plenty of little things in one of the blocks. Maybe someday when I have all the time in the worlds (ha ha) I will rework my layout. angel97701 awww Pooh Bear! I enjoyed your embellishments and the honeycomb textured background paper. So sweet. nylene excellent capture of an important moment. I like how your layout is balanced with the photo sizes and background elements. Chinagirl828, now that's what I am talking about, your layout looks so good with everything stacked up like the sketch. And I love the colors as well, playing off the colorful apron. scrappyrabbit a zoom wedding, wow. I like how you included all the key elements all stacked up. Lovely.

Here is my take on the sketch, I think I was able to complete all the twists, that is if deleting the journaling counts, since I don't do journaling I could not really move it, so I moved it all the way off the page . Remember my photos are temporary printed on printer paper as I create my pages before I order the prints.
