Unfortunately so many (right side) see this as only political and nothing else.
That poor precious child. Harmed by her parents. And society.
Too bad these people can't be charged with murder.

I dare someone to mark this political. A child's death. Sadly, you KNOW someone is going to. I spent last weekend with a friend who is a nurse at a children's hospital in Houston. She literally was in tears as she talked about how heartbreaking it is to see what is happening. She said that anyone who actually works in hospitals, seeing children suffer like this, would never in a million years be anti-Covid vaccination. Sadly, everyone seems to think "it's not going to happen to ME and MY family!" It's heartbreaking and maddening.

I wish I could agree with what I bolded above, but I personally know a recently retired (Jan. 2020) pediatric nurse who is now extremely anti-vax when it comes to Covid. I absolutely cannot comprehend how she can take that stance having worked with critically ill kids for literally all of her adult life, and seeing what is happening all around us especially down south. I guess if all you ever watch is FOX and OAN you’re never going to see how bad things really are out in the real world. It’s not just frightening, it absolutely pisses me off. This is so sad. This little girl's death was a needless result of neglect and stupidity on the part of her parents. May she rest with angels.

I couldn’t read the article in the link so I googled it. Sadly, two other stories of 4 yo’s passing from Covid also popped up. 😢

Poor little girl. How heartbreaking. As some of you know, I do genealogy work and have for years seen more child deaths from things we now vaccinate for than I could possibly list. In this case, children cannot yet be vaccinated, but it's still heartbreaking to think that she may have escaped exposure had the adults around her opted for the vaccination that was available to them.

One article I read said she hadn't been to school since Sept 1st. Was she sick or was family truly quarantined?

While to the normal, rational thinking person this is horribly sad, for way too many people this isn't even a blip on their radar. If school shootings haven't changed people this won't either.

That poor sweet little girl. My heart hurts for her.
Where are all of the Texas right to lifers now? They should be demanding that parents be required to get vaccinated in order to protect the lives of their children. Oh silly me! I forgot about their body, their choice when it comes to vaccines.

I was listening to some crap this morning while walking, and many of them do not believe that hospitals are overcrowded. It’s as if they reject any news that they don’t like-much like their former fearless leader.
That is such a sad story. Poor little girl.

A while ago my book club was discussing a book that had a Holocaust theme and somebody asked how could people not have objected to this. And I thought probably the same as they do today, call it fake news, shrug your shoulders and out of sight out of mind.

I feel horrible a child has passed, but I just don't have a lot of sympathy for those who refuse to get vaccinated, who believe the hospitals are overflowing, for those who think this is all fake news and then someone gets sick and dies. I am going to reserve my sympathy for the family who masked up, got the jab, and really did the best they could to keep their family as safe as they could, and yet still someone got sick and passed. I am disgusted that I can partition my heart like that, but that's where I'm at.

I know it's not possible for many reasons, but like you, all my sympathy is used up and has been for a while.

This is so scary to read as a parent. But I am forcing myself to not just yank my 11 year old out of school. I've started trying to find little things that make me feel better. I read that on average 200 kids die from flu per year and last year there was only one flu death. So I felt better somehow that maybe less kids died from that even though more than I want to think about died from covid. Also my kids always wear their seat belts and don't have access to firearms in the home. So somehow that comforts my mom heart. It's just so sad to lose any kid and imagine how bad that family must feel. But as parents we face the threat of mortality of our dear ones all the time and thank goodness it is a lot better than it used to be.
Also I'm pretending the vaccine will be authorized for kids soon, like by the end of September. On very little evidence. Yes, I am using Pollyanna thinking.
