Just about ready to eat supper and watching CFL football. Our graduating class has never had a reunion, in 40 years. I really don’t keep in touch with any of them, all 13 of them. Yes, our graduating class was 14 people. DH’s class has tried a couple of times, but it has never worked out. Anyone he might want to see, we see regularly any way. Oh that's small. We have a few schools in our area that have 8-14 grads. I had almost 50 in my grad class, 25 years later at the same school my DDs have had around 30. We've never had a reunion in 25 years. I live here and I wouldn't go. There are a few people that still live here and I see them occasionally over the years just because it's a small town not because I care either way to see them. Started and ended the day with rain. It's cloudy so we won't have a frost warning at least. Just trying to decide what to watch.

Thank goodness DH refuses to go to his class reunions. I went to my 10th but doubt I go to anymore. Maybe if we hit 50 years I’ll go, lol. I have had a long damn week. My dad had a triple bypass surgery and he’s still in hospital. I’m the closest kid to help take care of him so it all comes down on my shoulders. I’m in a mood today. Just tired and done with people, done with Covid, done with cleaning and cooking. Just done, lol. Hope you dad starts feeling better! I totally get it! My dad was in the hospital for 2 wks last month with 3 days home and then back again. My brother split it up, but at one point I had to threaten my brother that he NEEDED to come down and help, as I could not do it any more. I hope you get a break soon! Well I suspect tomorrow will be a big show down. I am the youngest of 5 kids....and the other 4 expect me to be his full-time caretaker. He has a wife...who doesn't want to cook, clean or be bothered on a good day. So she for sure wont want to be a full time nurse. But I am not doing it. Not like I did with my mom.

I think it may be my first time to jump in here, too. Never been to a reunion. DH recently had one, but he didn't go either. He does keep in touch with one or two people, though. I lost track of everyone.
I was just doing my calligraphy practice. It's something I've wanted to learn as it looks so pretty and I'm enjoying it, even if my letters don't look like it's supposed to.
I had been watching a week-long organizing workshop, so I just started to tackle small projects. Yesterday I cleared off the floor in front of my closet and 1 drawer and half my bookshelf in my office. Today it's another drawer. Tomorrow's another drawer or maybe two and the following project will be one or both over the door hangers that's full of clothes.
I've been debating whether I want to take a leadership class. It's scheduled for Calgary in March. I had applied last year, then it got moved to Atlanta and I got put on a waiting list and didn't get in. So this year it's scheduled for Calgary in March again and I have a feeling it's going to be in Atlanta again. I don't know if I want to fly, I'd be going alone and I've been having balance issues lately, so I need to consider those things. DH is encouraging me to go and I can always pull out before I have to commit.
Mom, hope your dad makes a swift recovery.

I missed watching Ohio state play, but will be geared up for the Browns tomorrow.
Ribs are still hurting, very uncomfortable sleeping, but at least I don’t have to get up early tor anything tomorrow!

Next year is My 25 yr reunion. I haven’t been to one yet. Most of the people I hung out with were a year younger. For our 20th, which they didn’t do until we had been out for 21 yrs, it was all the popular people which still hang out together. So really it was just a normal night out for them.

Haven’t ever been in on these “chats” Just in from a walk with the dug and watching the Crown (watched the first season when it came out and didn’t continue) Have never been to a class reunion…. Trying to decide on if I get offered a new position on Monday I will take it. It is the position I want but I have heard many horror stories about the advisor I would be supporting and the manager……. That's such a tough situation. Have you met the advisor? I had a “chat” with the manager on Monday that went well and then a chat (both virtual) with both the manager and advisor wednesday… I didn’t feel it went as well and I wonder if I was subconsciously self sabotaging !!! The job would be a big learning curve (which I am excited about) however this is one of the top advisors and had a very busy demanding portfolio….. I don’t know that I would be given a reasonable amount of time (and patience) to learn the job…… I generally would take the opinions with a grain of salt but I have heard so many negative things from so many people (and 1-2 in particular that I would really trust and value their opinion) Just not sure what would happen if I say no (if it is even offered), when a position comes up again (at a different location). Oh well we shall see what happens…. Maybe a rock star will have come out of the woodwork and it won’t be offered to me

I had such a wonderful day. My dd is a nurse and her hospital system has a free zoo day for the employees celebrating milestone anniversaries. It was her fifth year in 2020, but because of covid, she was able to go this year.
She invited me, and her brother, sister-in-law and 20 month old niece - my granddaughter. The weather was perfect and we went early, so my granddaughter really enjoyed the animals and all the activities. I loved watching her perched on her daddy's shoulders spotting the animals and making connections with what she sees in her books.
Everything was free. We got to go on a mini steam engine train ride, have a delicious boxed lunch and all you care to eat popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones, and ice cream treats.
Then my dd and I went to Trader Joes and did some window shopping. My heart is so happy!

I wish my husband didn’t like reunions. He still looks good and is nice and thin, and has most of his hair. I think he goes just to make himself feel good. I went to a quinceneara just now. Was going to go to the reception but while we were there, DD started feeling hot and throat started hurting. So we’re home now. I feel bad for not going, but I guess things like this should be expected if you’re having an event. Haha good for him. Let me tell you, I didn't go to my most recent one (30th, was delayed a year due to Covid) but I'm pretty sure 90% of my classmates completely embraced years ago the Plump Midwesterner heritage we were all handed as part of our birthright and then took it next level. I was working so hard to get to fighting weight for my reunion but in reality I needn't have bothered, not only because I didn't go but because everyone is very very large. Even the skinny hot guys from HS are now fat old men constantly being tagged in pics at the bar. It's shocking to see someone you used to think was so cute now look like a grandpa. A few folks still look good but it's not really a priority for most I guess. Then I see myself and I'm like, hell, who is that old lady? Age happens!

Neither my DH nor I have ever gone to any of our reunions. I didn’t like most of the kids at my school when I was there and I have no desire to reconnect with them now. DH has a few friends from HS and he keeps up with them on Facebook but we don’t ever socialize with any of them. Neither of us has kept up with anyone from college either.
We spent the day running a Dingo (him) and raking a crap ton of dirt and rocks (me). Needless to say, I feel like I’ve been run over by a truck. But at least we got some of our landscaping problems resolved and the dirt/class 5/river rock floor inside of our shed graded better so it’s flat inside the bays.

Had a good night. It's our kids' homecoming. My ds did not go, but I got to see other pictures.
I went to my 20th anniversary and had a good time. Two of my cousins graduated with me and we met up with a couple of other people I liked. Now I am fb friends with some and the others I don't care about. Most of my friends graduated one or two years before me. I'd like a friend reunion instead of class reunion

Welcome! You aren't missing much with the class reunions. I beg to differ...LOL I have been to everyone of mine and have helped to plan them. We have a great turnout (around 60 people) with a little more than half attending. I am so thankful a friend came to our last one 4 years ago---he was battling cancer and told none of us. We had a great time with him and were sad to learn of his passing about 9 months later.

It's just a little unnerving to see all those people you used to know now at least 100 lbs overweight, almost every single one of them in some photos, when you spend your nights caring for morbidly obese heart patients and diabetics. It's not healthy and obviously isn't a priority if every picture features what you grilled or ordered for dinner with a beer in your hand. Weight loss is a struggle for me too, and it gets out of hand sometimes for me too, but at some point you need to put on the brakes and address it.
