Not political but this must be some storm that is going to hit Northern CA. I don’t think I’ve seen a “4” storm in a very long time.

Former's truth social ... Trump University prosecutor explains why TRUTH Social is a disaster for investors Sarah K. Burris October 21, 2021 In an extensive thread on Twitter, lawyer Tristan Snell, who prosecuted the Trump University case for the New York Attorney General's office, tweeted that the new social media network from the ex-president is a disaster for any investor. Wednesday night on Fox News, Donald Trump Jr. did a kind of soft launch of TRUTH Social, the new Trump social media site. Already the site has been hacked and users were able to grab usernames like @mikepence and @donaldtrump. "Trump will have to make SEC filings for the first time ever," said Snell. "From a guy who is already under investigation for fraud and other misconduct — and had two other entities (Trump U, Trump Foundation) prosecuted for fraud. So, the SEC enforcement folks will be watching. Closely. Trump will also have to deal with Wall Street analysts and commentators nitpicking everything Truth Social does. He's banking on his own supporters buying the stock, freeing him from what the Street thinks. But they'll still rip it to shreds if it's losing money." He noted that it's unclear what the funding model will be for the site, but if there is an ad-based model, he's not sure if there are enough large advertisers to use the website. If there are a lot of GOP users who end up using the site, it could become a way for Republican candidates to send money to Trump by advertising to the users of his site. The greatest problem, however, is that with a "free speech" demand that promises not to silence anyone, candidates could run false videos against anyone, even Republicans. "He's toxic to most of corporate America now - they don't want the drama. That leaves a subscriber model," Snell continued. "But will Truth Social keep a large base of subscribers if the site goes offline, looks janky, has no legit branded content, etc? Enough to sustain a public company? Will Trump's supporters really prop up Truth Social if it loses lots of money?" www.rawstory.com/truth-social-investor-disaster-attorney/I'm going have to search. Somewhere I read that one of his big investors has bailed out. ...

Here it is.... The launch of Donald Trump's new social media company "TRUTH Social" has hit another bump in the road as some early key investors are pulling out after discovering he is one of the principals behind it which they were unaware of at the time they put money into the start-up. As the New York Times reported, "The details of Mr. Trump's latest partnership were vague. The statement he issued was reminiscent of the kind of claims he made about his business dealings in New York as a real estate developer. It was replete with high-dollar amounts and superlatives that could not be verified." According to a report from the Huff Post's Ed Mazza, one hedge fund manager lashed out when he found out about Trump's involvement. As Mazza reports, "[Boaz] Weinstein's Saba Capital had been a major investor in Digital World, a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) formed for the purpose of acquiring another company. As is common in SPAC arrangements, investors put their cash in before the acquisition target was chosen. When Weinstein learned it would be with Trump's firm, he bailed."*** "The idea that I would help [Trump] build out a fake news business called Truth makes me want to throw up," they said.www.rawstory.com/donald-trump-truth-social-media/

Truth Social ... He's planning for subscriptions, $10 a month... Grift is followers for more and more.. no counting paid advertisers.... According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, should Donald Trump's online platform "TRUTH SOCIAL" launch successfully and grow, there is no law that currently exists that will ban him from running the company as its CEO even if he is re-elected in 2024.Noting that the stock has soared since it went public, the Journal noted that Trump Media & Technology Group, of which he is the CEO, could be a big player in "a crowded field of right-leaning sites and social networks, thanks to Mr. Trump's prominence and online following." *** Mr. Trump's new venture comes as his family business has faced financial troubles, including $400 million in debt due in the next few years. The pandemic has led to a drop-off in business at his hotels and golf resorts," with one social media competitor saying the family "could generate $240 million a year in revenue with minimal content expense," with a subscription plan set at $10 a month.www.rawstory.com/donald-trump-social-media-platform-2655352661/

Wonder where we go from here with this guy.... Addressing a crowd at a QAnon conference in Las Vegas over the weekend, Cowboys for Trump founder Couy Griffin turned against former President Donald Trump. Trump, who failed to deliver on many of his campaign promises, left office, asking others to reelect him for another term so that he could accomplish what he'd promised in 2016. But at the Vegas event, Griffin made it clear that there were some things Trump could have done unilaterally. youtu.be/rw-ugTjCs1Ywww.rawstory.com/trump-cowboys-turns-against-president/

Joe Manchin's constituents are not happy with him... And they are speaking out!! According to a report from the Washington Post, voters back in West Virginia are furious with Sen. Joe Manchin (D) for bullying his fellow Democrats to take out much-needed aid for poorer families, saying they could use the financial assistance and he is disregarding them.*** According to the report, Ruth and James Jones of Charleston are barely getting by while raising two grandchildren, ages 10 and 17, with the Post noting they are surviving on "James's part-time earnings as an Applebee's cook and Ruth's Social Security payments." *** "Like thousands of other West Virginians, their financial burden has been eased since July by monthly federal payments, championed by the Biden administration, to support families with children. Now, however, those funds — which total $500 a month — could vanish if lawmakers agree to the demands of their own senator, Joe Manchin III," the report continues. According to the 64-year-old James, "We want Manchin to take a little bit more active role in protecting us as far as West Virginians. We're not a bunch of deadbeats. We work for a living and we're due."*** "It takes close to an hour to get anywhere important," she explained. "A lot of the resources that typically are available elsewhere don't trickle down to us. Many of our jobs are related to the gas and oil industry, and a lot of those jobs are on hold right now or are out of state." She added, "What we see a lot of are upper-class poor. These are individuals who make too much money for programmatic support, but they are still struggling on the whole." 2peasrefugees.boards.net/post/new/124617

If this is true.... Wow!! Rolling Stone is reporting that a pair of witnesses have spoken to the House Jan. 6 Select Committee revealing that Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) told them President Donald Trump would issue a blanket pardon of all of those who attacked the U.S. Capitol that day. According to the report, some of the planners of the rally are communicating with the investigators and the committee. *** They noted that Gosar made the promise "several" times. "I was just going over the list of pardons and we just wanted to tell you guys how much we appreciate all the hard work you've been doing," Gosar told those on the call. The pardon was offered while telling people to stage the actions that led to the destruction of the Capitol. They said that they didn't get involved because of the promise for the blanket pardon, but that they were angry they weren't given what they were promised. www.rawstory.com/paul-gosar-linked-capitol/Rolling Stone piece: www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/exclusive-jan-6-organizers-met-congress-white-house-1245289/EXCLUSIVE: Jan. 6 Protest Organizers Say They Participated in ‘Dozens’ of Planning Meetings With Members of Congress and White House Staff Two sources are communicating with House investigators and detailed a stunning series of allegations to Rolling Stone, including a promise of a “blanket pardon” from the Oval Office By HUNTER WALKER

I think this needs a thread .. A slate of Republican members of Congress is being outed by those who attended planning meetings for the protest that resulted in the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, according to a new report in Rolling Stone. Two sources, according to their story, revealed that Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ), Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL), Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC), Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), and Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) were all present on "dozens" of calls with organizers of the group. *** The former president also spoke to the group, saying that they were going to march to the U.S. Capitol and tell the members of Congress that they needed to hand Trump the election. He promised that he would lead them and walk with them, but that never happened. www.rawstory.com/insurrectionists-reveal-republican-involved-jan-6/Include Mark Meadows too!! "Meadows was 100 percent made aware of what was going on," one of the organizers told Rolling Stone. "He's also like a regular figure in these really tiny groups of national organizers." *** A third source, who has already spoken to the committee and was also involved in the Ellipse rally said that Kylie Kremer, daughter to Women for Trump founder Amy Kremer, was bragging that she was going to meet with Meadows at the White House before the rally's kickoff. Amy Kremer's name appeared on all of the documents asking for permits for Jan. 6. www.rawstory.com/mark-meadows-involved-jan-6-organizing/

The past year CA’s Governor & State Legislators have been on a tear passing and signing bills that deal with “the things that are making life hard for Americans” to quote Condoleezza Rice.
Unlike the red states these laws are meant to actually help the residences of this state. And no, not everyone agrees with them.
Meanwhile in Congress one party has checked out and two members of the party that is actually trying to address these issues are acting like little obstructionist snits.
Newsom is right. I think a lot of people are getting tired of the antics of the two snits and Congress in general. If Congress is are not going to govern why even have a Congress?
Something to ponder.

Another Republican crook who misused campaign funds, indicted and has been under investigation for FOUR years. So not on Biden!! Tennessee Republican indicted for allegedly violating federal campaign finance laws Sam Stockard, Tennessee Lookout October 25, 2021 Sen. Brian Kelsey has been indicted for allegedly funneling money from his state account to his failed 2016 congressional campaign, a violation of federal law. A Nashville grand jury returned a five-count indictment against Kelsey, 43, a Germantown Republican, on Friday charging him and Joshua Smith, 44, owner of The Standard Club, with violating multiple campaign finance laws as part of a conspiracy to bolster his 2016 congressional campaign, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. *** The feds have been investigating Kelsey, an attorney, for more than four years, with hints of the probe leaking occasionally. The Dispatch, a conservative news site, reported in early October that investigators talked to Matt Schlapp about the American Conservative Union's endorsement of Kelsey in 2016, according to the Tennessee Journal. *** Kelsey chairs the Senate Education Committee and was appointed to serve on Gov. Bill Lee's steering committee to review the Basic Education Program and come up with a new K-12 funding formula. But according to the Tennessee Journal, Senate rules give indicted members 10 days to request a hearing before the Ethics Committee or be removed from their chairmanship or other leadership posts. www.rawstory.com/sen-kelsey-indicted-for-allegedly-violating-federal-campaign-finance-laws/

They finally certified the CA recall waste of money election.
The kicker is Newsom received 220,000 more votes in the recall election then he did when he was first elected Governor. But, only 58% of those eligible to vote bothered to show up and vote .
From the Press Democrat.
“Secretary of State Shirley Weber certified the results Friday, showing that 61.9% of votes were to retain the governor, while 38.1% were to remove him.
That's the same margin Newsom beat Republican John Cox by in 2018 — 61.9% to 38.1%.
In terms of actual ballots, not percentages, Newsom won 7,944,092 votes, nearly 3 million more than the 4,894,473 votes cast to remove him, and 222,000 more than the number of votes he won in 2018.
Californians cast a total of 12,892,578 in the recall, according to the Secretary of State, that's 3,479,084 more votes than were cast in the last statewide gubernatorial recall election in 2003. Of all registered voters, 58.45% turned out for the recall.
Newsom backers said the high turnout was proof that California voters are motivated to keep a "Trump Republican" out of office and that the results of the recall bode well for the governor's reelection bid next year.”
