Welcome to the back to the 2021 Organized 2PeasRefugees scrap challenge. It does not matter where you are in your journey of organizing you are welcome to join us and do a little or do a lot! Find a system that works for you and your space. How do you scrap and shop your supplies? Is your space tiny or a whole room? Do you live with special considerations such as flooding or dust? There is not one way that is better than another, just what is best for your style and needs! This challenge is to encourage you to work towards a more organized crafting life, so that you can find what you purchased when you want to use it! My best rule of thumb is that it should not take more than three moves to get to what you want to use on your project. If you are on a team for the team challenges you can claim 10 points for each hour spent. The time does not need to be consecutive. Bonus of 1 point for each before and after photo. The following tasks will count towards the crafting organization: • Cleaning up after your latest crafting session (ie desk before, desk after) • Scrubbing or vacuuming the floor in your space. Dusting your space (I live in the desert next to a dirt road and own four German Shepherds so this is a regular task) • Organizing a supply or completely re-doing your entire space. • Sorting, editing, backing up, or ordering photos. • Setting up page kits for photos or organizing the ones that you get as a monthly subscription with photos. • Essentially anything that is related to crafting that needs to be done to “spark joy”! (I’m not necessary a huge Marie Kondo fan . . . but she does have some good ideas!) Scrapbook related Bonus: You will earn 20 points for each hour spent organizing your embossing folders, and misc dies. Photos to follow of my current system, I might be rethinking it a bit this month!
Non Scrapbook related Bonus: Books, 20 point for each hour! Yes, we all have books we haven't read in years, children's books that should move to another home, or be donated. We had a library room that is now packed in boxes in the garage. They are sorted, but really I need to get them donated. None of my kiddos will be interested in having them, so my goal is to go through the boxes and get them out of the house. I might even consider looking at our packed bookshelves!

ooooooooh. I can definitely rack up some points here this month. My picture books for work are currently all over my scrap room and floor of the basement and need to be put away before the new furnace gets installed in 2 weeks.

Yeah! A new furnace and an opportunity to get more organized! If you were closer I would have things to donate to your classroom, but alas the postage would be more than the stuff is worth!

Thank you angel97701 I think I did a decent job purging books when we moved but I do have a large to-read pile and many of those will be donated once I've read them. I need to get back into a reading routine - I've mostly been reading on my kindle lately

I spent three hours today cleaing/organising my scrapbook space - it had been working fine for me but I've added more dies and clear stamps lately and the storage I had for them wasn't working as well as it could. I also had smaller alphabet stickers separate from the rest of the alphabet stickers - which meant I wasn't using them.
So I took the magnetic sheets out of the artbin box and moved them to a plastic shoebox (no lid) so I can flip through them easily. I slipped any matching stamps into cut-down page protectors and put in front of the dies. Then I took the pages out of my stamp binder, put them into cut-down page protectors and added them to the shoebox. At some point I need to do an inventory but for now it's easy enough to find what I want because they are all in one place and easy to flip through. I do need another package of magnetic sheets so I added that to the shopping list.
I organised the cardblanks and envelopes and put away the cards I made last month in the card file. I also rearranged the small bookcase I have forming an L with my scraptable - it mostly holds the same things it used to but I moved them around so the stuff I use more often is on the upper shelf and the stuff I don't is on the lower. I made room for the new stamp/die box and also found a small plastic box to hold my 6x6 pads upright so I can see them and hopefully USE them.
I'm going to claim one hour out of the three for the organising bonus - my embossing folders are already organised but now my dies are also.
And I put one book into the donation pile after reading it - it was good but not a read again.

If I had put bonus points for putting away garden hoses, drip lines, and cleaning a barn room I would have earned about 100 points. Silly me! Still have the books to do, and the closet is on-going! All in good time!

Well last weekend I sat and organized my misc stamps and dies. The ones that don't go together. Now I'm thinking I might want to go back and organize my dies differently, as right now they are mostly organized by manufacturer, but I'm wondering if organizing by shape and type might be more efficient? Hum? Hope everyone is having a great October!
