justjac - it's fine. I'm not really a cardmaker so the Cardtober challenges are always tough for me but I learn new skills and it's good to be challenged. Safe travels! Happy Thanksgiving weekend to the Canadian Pokeys!

Happy Thanksgiving kitbop , justjac , grammadee !! Hope you are all having a wonderful holiday! Linda moving is exciting and tough. The holidays would probably be the push I need to finish getting things put together. I can get to a certain point, like where I can actually function on a daily basis and then let the rest languish for ages. justjac , a 5 hour trip is a big trip to me lol. Enjoy your family! I thought about doing the big card exchange, but I'm with you, I would rather send and receive cards from people I feel like I know. I love our pokey card exchange so much! I spent yesterday with DS2 and his GF. We had the best time! We had a late lunch together, and were all set to watch a movie. During a time we paused the movie, his GF said she wanted to see his scrapbooks again. That led to ALL the albums coming out and a box of older photos too. We told stories, and laughed so much. I also have a list of stories I had forgotten that I want to scrap at some point. They are going to bring photos with them next time and want us to scrap together. His GF's mom used to scrapbook and has a room full of supplies, so she's going to bring some. But I'm happy to share mine - I have more than enough to share lol. We never went back to finish the movie either. Today is errands and laundry. Maybe some scrapping while I have football on in the background tonight. I've lurked around on the December Mega thread and that has me excited to try a December album again, I haven't finished the one I started a couple years ago, so we'll see. Waving HI to everyone!

Thanks for the THANKSGIVING greetings, Linda , nylene and joyfulnana . Dgs's competition was yesterday. I drove up Friday evening, stayed with them, watched the competition in the morning, had lunch at Moxie's with them--the most WONDERFUL staff who cooked foods specifically for my and my dd's food sensitivities, chatted with us, and even gave dgs a tour of the kitchen! I drove home last night. Today I am baking pumpkin pies and getting organized for tomorrow's turkey dinner. Dd & family will drive down later today and we will have the feast tomorrow. I am incredibly thankful for all of the Peas, and especially for the Pokeys. Such a wonderful group of friends! Hoping I can join one of gramma's on line crops soon. Fingers crossed for next weekend... joyfulnana , it sounds like your evening with ds & dgf was a scrapbooker's DREAM! So wonderful when people appreciate the loving care that goes into each page. Hoping you not only scrap the "missing" stories, but also yesterday! So good to hear about all your art adventures, kellyr21 . Hoping to see some of your journal pages and cards you are creating this month. kitbop , your freezer sounds like mine! I defrosted the big chest freezer a few months ago, and I don't want to even admit the years on some of those packages. I, too, freeze the pumpkin, once it is cooked and drained and pureed. Last year we had no pumpkins to speak of, so I used only frozen stuff to bake my pies and the pumpkin loaves I usually bake for Christmas. This year I hope to use fresh for all of it, and still have more to freeze for a later date. There are also a couple of big ones to send back with dgs to carve into jack o lanterns. And Linda , I also freeze the tomatoes once they have been cooked. I just use the same recipe my dmil used for the tomatoes she sealed into jars, but once they are cooked, I put them into containers and once cool they go into the freezer. But I prefer to make lots of lasagna with freshly cooked tomatoes, and then freeze THAT. A lot less mess and bother over the winter. Okay, off to dig out my pie recipe and get started in the kitchen...

Hello all. Home from a whirlwind day trip to the city. Sadly DD15 wasn't feeling well enough to join us but she insisted she would be fine home alone (which of course she was) so I was able to go. We met up with DS at his hotel - gave him his birthday presents (later this month) and some other stuff we had set aside for him as well as a loaf of pumpkin gingerbread. He had some dishes for me (his thrift stores often seem to get my pattern in) and some books for us in exchange. It's easier than mailing back and forth so we both have a box going most of time for the other.
Then we went shopping - IKEA, 2nd and Charles, Goodwill, Aldi - as well as out to lunch together and just hanging out. He had to work tonight so we said goodbye mid-afternoon and headed home only to get snarled in game day traffic as the crowds left the stadium after the Jaguars lost for the 20th consectutive game.

grammadee it sounds like you had a wonderful time over the weekend! I will definitely be scrapping the other night. I even got pictures this time lol. Linda your day with DS sounds pretty wonderful too! What a great day of hanging out. Those are the best. Game day traffic is the WORST. I haven't done any scrapping lately. I will only maybe have some time on Saturday. Rudy and I will be having a sleep over Friday night and then Sunday afternoon we have our lunch date. I had no idea how much he looks forward to those until we had to miss one. I probably need to get some pics and scrap that This month is going too fast for my liking. Yesterday had tinges of busy season Monday. I hope it's because Thanksgiving is coming, and not because we are headed back to an early season. I might go crazy if that's the case lol. Cody and I started Squid Game Sunday. OMG that is INTENSE! Abby sensed I was scared and cuddled up to me to make sure I was ok. It was so sweet. Boy the Chiefs are sure looking like normal humans this year. They feel like the Chiefs I've always known lol. Hopefully they turn this skid around. I'm off to get ready for work, I hope you all have a great day!

joyfulnana - it was great to have the time with DS. It's definitely a bonus of his current posting that they send him near us every so often on detachment. DD15 is still struggling with her allergies but was feeling well enough to go to school today. I'm sure that wasn't related to having a match this afternoon for Academic Team. I got my housework caught up yesterday so hopefully can make some cards today. That's so sweet that Rudy really looks forward to spending time with you - he's lucky to have such an involved nana.

Hello to all the pokeys! joyfulnana - My DD explained the premise of Squidgame - easy decision not to watch for me I just watched the first season of "only murders in the building" on Disney+. Didn't expect to like it - had to force myself to watch the 2nd episode - and then loved it! Will be eagerly waiting for season 2. Linda - that sounds like a wonderfully productive and fun trip! LOL about the Jaguars - even non football involved me knows about them grammadee - I have almost stopped making pies. It's so much hassle, and dirty bowls, and I can actually buy them cheaper than they cost to make at home. Kinda sad, because I make a mean pie! Not making pies anymore is why I have so much pumpkin still in my freezer. OTOH, I made a killer pumpkin loaf this weekend. Sounds like a good trip to the city for you. I wonder if Moxie's is in the US too? It's in every city in Canada I think A huge shout out to justjac for the stamped images she sent me! I'm going to scan them in so I can print them again if I need them...which I will... My DH and kids were so pleasantly shocked when they saw them! OTOH, where is Shepherd Book? I'm crushed that he's not represented! I have a few days off work - we had planned a trip to BIL/SIL, but they cancelled But, there is lots to do here, including crafting! I have THREE things coming in the mail: my next Crop and Create box will be here this week, and this time I am #teampeak! I put in an order to my LSS that will be ready quickly for pick up. And I have a couple of things coming from China (ahem) that will add to my Christmas Card designing. Happy Pumpkin Season everyone!

Happy Tuesday! Hope you all are having a nice week so far. The last few weeks have been a whirlwind for me and I am recharging my batteries today. linda- SO happy you got to see your ds. What a good time you all had. Since he is a little closer, I hope you get to see him more. How did the kittens do with there dr. appt/surgeries? They are so super cute! kitbop- Oh you got lots of fun happy packages. Sorry your trip was cancelled. Hopefully you can still get together during the holidays. joyfulnana- Abby is so sweet. She really has your back! How fun that you have sleep overs with Rudy. I wish all us Pokey's could have a slumber party. How fun would that be?! Yeah, the Chief's are not as dominate as they had been. Maybe by the end of the season, they will be better.

kellyr21 , you have had a very busy couple of weeks. How is the new painting coming? I hope you are getting some rest and taking care of yourself. How was your painting class last week and what are you working on? Is the class at Michael's? I hope our Michael's start classes again soon. They just moved to a new location with much more room. kitbop , I'm sorry your plans for getting away had to change. We had barely left town last week and DH said, "It feels so good to get away." I guess we have all felt locked-down for too long. The hotel in Wendover required masks which really surprised me. People actually complied. Linda , I am so glad you had a great visit with DS. I'm sorry your DD was not feeling well enough to go, but she's smart to stay home if she doesn't feel well. Glad she's back at school. joyfulnana , I got tears in my eyes reading about the fun you had going through photos and scrapbooks with your DS. It really does justify the time we spend in this hobby, doesn't it. I hope you have a great time with Rudy this weekend. He obviously looks forward to it. Alex had his birthday last week in St. George so his sisters could be with him. They all rented an Airbnb and spent the weekend together. When he returned he came running in to hug me and tell me it had been "ages" since he saw me. Little moments that make life joyful. grammadee , justjac and kitbop , I hope your Thanksgiving celebrations were warm and loving with family. I hope that our usual celebrations become more like years past as time goes on. I think we all miss those gatherings. I am not getting a lot of card challenges done this month. I have a lot of cards that I need to make for upcoming events but they don't really meet the challenges. I am enjoying the new techniques our hostesses are suggesting. I hope to catch up before the end of the month. Today was an errand day. We spent the entire morning picking up wood and parts, etc. Tomorrow I hope to scrap most of the day.

nylene is was very nice to get together with my family. It did feel back to normal. Except my niece had a cold which Dean now has. Fortunately his work is rapid testing for Covid twice a week so we know it is just a cold. However he is feeling rough and I am afraid I will catch it. If I get a cold, I have to stay home from work and get a Covid test. Better safe than sorry, but I really enjoyed not having a cold for the last 18 months. kitbop I was disappointed they left out Shepherd and Simon, but I guess they only had so much room on the sheet. I would have sacrificed the sentiments for more people! Definitely take care of yourself kellyr21. You have been really busy. I haven't been making many cards this month either. It's Layout a Day for me in October, so I'm finally getting to use some of those Sketchtember sketches. However when grammadee and I get to go to our crop in 10 days, I am going to do all of my Crop & Create Delivered cards since I didn't get to do them live. Some of them must fit a prompt!

Good Morning! No crafting going on here lately, too many nights watching TV I think lol. Plenty of shopping though. I'm waiting on three packages now. I have to get out tonight and get all the Rudy groceries. It's been slightly busier this week at work which is making me a little anxious. I hope it's just the last push of people winterizing or planning a Thanksgiving trip and nothing else lol. kitbop I've heard lots of good reviews about Only Murders, there are so many shows I want to see but which do I want more, crafting or vegging? lol. Apparently vegging lol. I'm sorry your plans were changed but it sounds like there is still an upside to it. nylene those boys are the best aren't they? justjac I sure haven't missed having a cold either and the one I had a few months ago was the worst! I hope it skips you. kellyr21 take care of yourself! I hope everyone has a great day!

Happy Thursday! Hope you all are doing well today. I have been wiped out all week and really letting myself rest and recover. A couple of weeks ago, I did finish my new art and it was accepted into the art show!!! This show will be a one night event for the city's orchestra's opening night. Whew! So overwhelmed that my art is having all these opportunities. I will keep you posted on this. Also, the closing night at the gallery I am currently in is tomorrow. It will be bittersweet to see it end. Some of our family was able to come to the gallery last weekend. So, I was glad they were able to witness this with me. AND I am submitting to another show and the application is due tomorrow. I am using art I already have and fingers crossed for that one, too.: : It's been so much going on and I am so grateful to God for these opportunities to inspires others my messages of self-care. This week, I got a lot of practice at this, too. LOL! So movies days, no cooking, and a little retail therapy. I did take time to look at all the Cardtober sketches. They look good! justjac your cards with the landscapes were pretty. Nice work! joyfulnana - What tv shows are you watching? I hope your job slows down so you can play with your new supplies, soon. nylene - Yes, my virtual art classes are with a group I found on MeetUp. It is every Thursday and it is a sketch and drawing class. It has been a good class and I am learning a lot. The M's classes I take are virtual, too. They have a great variety on all types of crafts. They are free and recorded so if you miss it you can see it on their YouTube channel. Link Here

MARIBETHR , wow, you have really been busy. I love looking at your Blue Apron photos. All the food looks delicious. Your Courthouse pages always interest me. I am amazed at how you can do so many and have each page embellished uniquely. I especially love those medallions on Berian County, MI. Are those dies? I'm glad you get some scrafty time while camping. Are you doing Layout a Day? kellyr21 , I am so excited that your new art was accepted to the show. What a wonderful honor. Can't wait to see what you made. Thanks for the info on Michael's classes. I didn't realize they were doing them online. I spent some time looking through them and it made me want to take up crochet and cross stitch again. I know I don't have time for more than one hobby at a time, and this is the time for scrapping. Good luck on your art application today. joyfulnana , I hope your work slows down so you can enjoy scrapping as well as your time with Rudy. How fun to get new crafties in the mail. It will be fun to see what you do with them. How is the weather there? We are getting snow in the mountains and just a skiff on the benches. We have had ice on our windshields the last 2 days but it's supposed to go back up to high 60's next week. Have a great weekend with Rudy. justjac , how are you doing with LOAD? I love your seasons card challenges. It has forced me to open up some Stampin Up sets that have been sitting idle on my shelf. That tree/book reading card is fabulous. I think that's a favorite! gramma, I am enjoying your card challenge because it makes a bunch of cards to have on hand. grammadee , I think you are probably getting freezing temps too. Have you got all your garden put to bed? When are you taking your DH for his medical tests? I hope everything goes well and you don't have to stay over. The Cardtober has been fun. Thanks for all you add to this site. The school kids are on Fall Break this weekend so Em and Alex are coming to take us to lunch today. That will be a fun break from the normal. Wishing each of you sweet Pokey Peas a great weekend with a little time for crafting!

Wow! MARIBETHR, you certainly get alot of pages and cards done on you camping trips! Do you take your electronic cutter with you? Or do you precut ahead of time? I never seem to accomplish anything while camping except general camp chores. Glad you had time with family, justjac. I enjoyed seeing your Thanksgiving pages you posted in the Gallery. Hope that cold that came home with Dean is fading away and not affecting you. And I am glad you are enjoying CARDtober, nylene. And that justjac and gramma and others have been posting such cool challenges. I have not done alot of crafting so far this month. Hoping to do some Christmas cards this coming Monday. Dh's appointments are Monday and Tuesday, so I am planning to make cards in the hotel room Monday when I will have the most time. I have done some diecutting in advance, and am slowly getting a kit together with papers and inks and tools and stamps and glue... Doesn't look like I will get any pages put together before the crop NEXT weekend. Once I get home from the city, I will have to get packed up for that. Hoping that will let me earn my keep on joyfulnana's team... In other crafting news, I just heard that the local gift store has received my package from Purolator, so my SCT kits have arrived. Thirteen pounds of crafty fun in that box! Trying to decide if I can leave them there until my next trip to town, maybe next Wednesday, or make an excuse to head into town this afternoon before closing... (They are not open tomorrow). Not supposed to peek for a couple of weeks, but... I have no patience. kitbop, have you checked yours out yet?

I never seem to accomplish anything while camping except general camp chores. No I do not take my electronic cutter, we usually camp without electricity. So this time I did precut ahead of time. If I am unable to prepare, that is when I usually take stamps to cut and layer (Stamplistic/Julie Nutting) or color.

I'm glad you get some scrafty time while camping. Are you doing Layout a Day? The food is delicious. We will be stopping after the past weeks delivery for the holiday season. We will have enough food to cook and eat. We will start up again after the first of the year. Not all my Courthouse pages are different it does get hard and with 3,144 impossible. But at least I try to change up the colors even if I use the same dies or style of embellishing. The medalliaons on Berrien County are just googled images printed and then I colored them with Copic. You will probably be seeing more like that, may use my Stamplistic stamps as well as they are medallions. I am not doing Layout a Day. I have tried that event however it is usually to specific as far as the prompts go and I make layouts just to meet the prompt, not something I am really wanting to scrapbook and save. Had a visit with my sister this weekend. I have not seen her since 2015. It was very special to see her again. I am looking forward to getting my scrafting back on this weekend. Hoping to bring in some more points.

We are home. Dh's last test was early this morning, so he was back at the hotel before 9:00AM. We had planned to stop at Costco, but he decided he wanted to come straight home, so we filled up with gas and headed out. He felt good about the tests. Results will be sent in a couple of weeks. This was a followup for the stents they had put in before.
While hanging out in the hotel room, I managed to put together almost 30 Christmas cards. Have ideas for a bunch more, but going back to pages for this next weekend. Need to start packing for the crop tomorrow.
It is flu shot season. I have an appointment to get mine tomorrow. And Dh has an appointment to get his Covid booster shot.
Will be back later to read through the thread.

Good Morning! kellyr21 I love the message of self care through your art and I'm glad you are taking some for yourself! Good luck with your next submission! I am watching too many shows! And then I wonder why I don't find time for crafting lol. Mostly just Squid Game right now. Then we'll finish this anime that Cody talked me into. I also watch A Million Little Things and This is Us. I get sucked into TV because Abby insists on her time when I get off work lol. Once I sit down with her, it's pretty much over lol nylene I hope you had a wonderful lunch with Em and Alex! It is finally cooling off here. 70's during the day and 50's at night. Still not cold enough at night for me. I'm still turning on the A/C some days when the sun really comes in. There just isn't enough breeze some days. But cooler weather is here and I'm ready for it! grammadee I hope DH gets good news from his tests. I hope you get lots done at your crop! I've been thinking about joining in on the monthly day crops with a group, but then I think why leave home? I can scrap at home all day with the peas instead lol MARIBETHR I really do like those thumbs up and down on your Blue Apron pages and the place setting! I tried Hello Fresh again for a few weeks, but it was too much cooking lol. I'm all about quick easy meals right now lol The weekend with Rudy was so fun. We had Sorry! tournament - best 2 out of 3. He won that lol. Had our lunch date and went to the park and to feed the ducks. It's the best time we've had in a while. I also watched Hocus Pocus for the first time with him. Cute movie! I hope everyone is having a good week!

grammadee , I am happy to hear that your DH's tests went well. I hope the results show that everything is well. Congrats on 30 cards in the Hotel. Who would believe that we make Christmas cards in hotels? You have a great start on your Christmas cards. We got our flu shots last week and I had the first reaction I have ever had. For about 6 hours I ached all over. The next morning I was fine. It's crazy because I have had flu shots every year for many years. I hope you guys have no untoward reactions. Have fun at your crop. I chatted with justjac online and she seemed really excited about it. The rest of us are jealous! MARIBETHR , I wondered, too, about how you cut things out while camping. Thanks for the info on the medallions. They look so pretty. I think you ought to use them often. It is fun to see all the food items with the thumbs up and down. I giggle each time I see one. Great job on so many pages. I am so happy you got to see your sister. That's a long time to be apart. I'm sure it was a great visit. kellyr21 , how is the new painting going? I am anxious to see what you are doing. You are going to become a "well-known artist" in your community. Is it starting to cool off yet? We had snow yesterday, but not enough to stick to the ground. I just hate to see winter come. I just never feel warm. joyfulnana , what a great time with Rudy. I hope you get more weekends like that. I will have to check out Hocus Pocus. I haven't seen that. About the only shows I see are the Pixar movies that I have seen dozens of times. I can scrap and never have to look up because I can see the scenes in my head as I listen to the words and music. LOL I'm glad you are getting some relaxing time, even if you choose not to spend it scrapping. We all need a little down time! Linda, I haven't seen you on the card threads for a few days. I hope things are ok at your home and you are just busy (as usual). Take care of yourself. I need to get some cards made tonight, not for Cardtober but to send to my grands. I also have 2 b-days and an anniversary card that need to be finished and in the mail tomorrow. Have a great weekend if I don't get back here before then. Hugs to all the Pokeys.

joyfulnana I am so jealous of your weather. I had to do the conversion on my phone. Today when I left for work it was -2C (28F) and the high is only 6C(43F). Still no snow thank goodness. I am almost ready for grammadee and my other company to arrive. Fortunately, Dean doesn't work Fridays so he is on duty washing sheets and vacuuming. One problem with packing up is that it is also Layout a Day, so I can't pack my ATG and cutter until tomorrow. I actually had my Big Shot in a bag and had to take it out to use it. I am still mostly packed, though, because I am working on cards. nylene I am planning on getting my flu shot, too, but I think they are prioritizing seniors right now so I'll have to keep my ears open for when I can go in. I am getting a hair cut today. Plus side is I will look good for the crop. Minus side is I will have less time to make my page and pack and clean.

MARIBETHR I really do like those thumbs up and down on your Blue Apron pages and the place setting! I tried Hello Fresh again for a few weeks, but it was too much cooking lol. I'm all about quick easy meals right now lol I want to try Hello Fresh, maybe one week Blue Apron the next week Hello Fresh. Hubby and I are actually doing the cooking together and we find it great fun. He is retired (since 2012) and has faithfully had my dinner on the table when I return from work every evening, but the routine and same dishes were becoming tiring for him to cook and for me to eat. We really like the variety and new flavors we are being exposed to. For us if we go quick and easy we tend to select very unhealthy foods so right now this is working for us. And of course I have so much fun making the pages (Bonus!) Have a wonderful day.

Good morning Pokey Friends! I was reading through the thread getting caught up. You all have had a lot going on! I'm sorry I've been MIA the last couple of months, I don't know what I'm always so busy doing, but it seems like I never have any time. My job has been a lot lately. I lead a large nonprofit that works with children and we've been so busy since the world blew up. It is all I can do to keep up with all of the meetings and requests from the state for us to do various things to help. There are so many families struggling to make ends meet right now. There is a housing shortage in Indy where I live driving prices up, the landlords are selling the homes that used to be rentals to the investors who are renovating all of them for the people moving into the city, leaving the poor with few places to go. We are dealing with homeless families every day now. I did take a few days off last week for fall break. We took our three kids to Universal Studios in Florida. It was probably the last trip we will have with just the five of us. Our girls (Mallory and Olivia) are 23 and 27, both of them are dating nice boys that have been around for several months. I think Mallory will probably end up engaged in the next little bit. Her boyfriend, Colin, is pretty much a clone of her Daddy...which makes me laugh. They are so much alike in personality and interests, she couldn't have found someone more like her Dad if she tried...lol. We just met Olivia's beau last week, but they've been dating for a few months. She met his family last night. She definitely seems smitten too, which is very unusual for her. Thankfully our youngest, Griffin, is still a senior in high school, so I still have one at home. Mallory moved out last month with her best friend, but they are living in a carriage house that is pretty much across the street from us, so she is nearby. I haven't done any scrapping in almost two months, but I'm going to a weekend crop at the end of the month, so that will be nice. I have a ton of new photos to play with, which always inspires me. Nylene - I hope you had a good visit with Alex and Em! It's awesome that you were able to crank out your Christmas cards while you were stuck at the hotel, you are really ahead of the game. Take care of yourself sweet lady! Maribeth - I wish my husband did the cooking...except that he stinks at it, but it might help with my diet efforts if he cooked. I do get tired of feeling like I fix the same things. I think I tend to mix it up a bit seasonally, so it's kind of nice to be going into soup, chowder and casserole season. The ratings on your Blue Apron pages are fun, that's such a good way to remember if you liked it. Grammadee - I hope your hubby's test results are good. It's great that both of you are on it with your flu shots and boosters. I'll probably need to get a booster soon since I was vaccinated in February. We are still operating a Covid unit for kids in my kid shelter at work. Justjac - Have fun at your crop! I don't know how you keep up with LOAD, I think I'd be doing good to keep up with a LO a month plan at this point. Well, I need to get moving. I have a meeting in 45 minutes.

Good to hear from you, shinyhappytina. Great that you found time to drop in and chat when you have so many things going on at work and at home. Glad you got your flu shot, but sorry you had some side effects, nylene. I had only fatigue and a sore arm as an aftermath of my flu shot. Dh says he feels NO side effects of having the flu and the Covid booster both on the same day. But then he says pain and fatigue is part of his everyday life anyway, so how would he notice? Loving your pages about your food adventures, MARIBETHR. With food sensitivities, I am always more comfortable preparing completely from scratch, and neither of us is very adventurous, but what you two are doing sounds like fun. Your weekend with Rudy sounded perfect, joyfulnana. I hope you use your weekend "off" from family and work as a way to recharge your batteries. If you end up scrapping, that would be a huge bonus, but if you just veg out in front of the TV and soak up all the shows and snuggle with Abby, that will be restorative, too. My crop stuff is all in the vehicle, and has been since yesterday afternoon. I have a bag going of afterthoughts, but it is not that big. The store will have stuff for sale there, and if all else fails, there will be justjac and our table mates to beg borrow or steal from... I need to print some photos in town today before the crop opens. Need to get my mind refocussed on PAGES. So many card ideas over at CARDtober, and I have been pinning Christmas cards like crazy. Okay, off to find my crop tee's and get my self packed to get on the road. Have a wonderful weekend, Pokeys!

Hi everyone. I have one day off here - working the upcoming weekend. Wanted to pop in and say a real hello. I've been lacking the energy to have proper "conversations" here - you know those moments when you start a reply but then delete because it feels like a lot of work? For us if we go quick and easy we tend to select very unhealthy foods So true! To deal with this, DH and I try to do a dinner salad 4 nights a week - just a good salad (apples, strawberries, roasted peppers, even cooked squash on there) with protein (like grilled chicken, shrimp, cut up sausage, ham, omelette) on it. We get very bored some weeks, but then when we choose homemade pizza, or homemade macaroni and cheese with bacon in it the other nights we don't feel as bad Also, it takes the question of "what's for dinner" out of it. Our kids don't like this as much, but they are old enough to fend for themselves if they don't want salad! grammadee - fingers crossed for functioning stents! 30 cards is a great start. 30 cards fills my whole list I've done 11 so far, but I don't normally even start until November so it's all good! I'll be getting my flu shot next week, provided the hospital has it in stock. They ran out last week. Of course, everyone working at the hospital now is covid vaccinated, so we're all probably on board with the flu shot as well kellyr21 - I hope you are enjoying painting, and good luck with your next submission! nylene - wow, snow already? We're firmly in sweater weather here. It's been lovely. No frost yet. I still have carrots in the ground! Funny how Canada has a reputation for being so cold, when I enjoy weather rather like New England but with less snow and Hurricanes! I loved your Halloween cards for your grands - so much fun! justjac - so jealous that you and grammadee can connect in person to create. I think that would be so much fun, a weekend with company. OTOH, I'm not one for crowds so the inperson crops aren't a draw for me (plus, packing up...) Which crop is this that you are doing? When you do LOAD, do you really try for 1/day, or do you have "catch up" days where you do 2-3 layouts? Sorry about your weather (OK, I've probably just cursed Ontario there). shinyhappytina - hi! Yes, the housing market and rentals are CRAZY here too. I am very grateful we are well established because the market STARTS at $750 000 for a very small and often needing a lot of work house. It would be so nice to take a trip with our kids - we all still like doing things together even tho they are young adults - it is so hard to coordinate work/school schedules. I would love to do Disney or Universal, but the majority in the house would prefer to do a Caribbean resort. We've never done a trip outside of Canada together, but hope to do something in the Spring! Running off to pick up DD, and get some lunch with DH. Have a great day everyone!

shinyhappytina , it's so nice to see your sweet face popping up. It sounds like you may have 2 weddings in your near future. I'm glad Mal and Olivia are doing well. It's hard to believe your little blond Griff is a senior in HS. Where does the time go? It has been 11 years since we went to Scrapfest. Have fun at your crop. I'm glad you had a vacation with the kids. Housing here has gone crazy too. I worry about my married grands and wonder if they will ever be able to afford a home, and yet my son is contracting to build HUGE homes. I wonder where people are getting the $ to build that big. Of course it keeps DS in work. grammadee and justjac , I hope you two know we will all be wishing we were with you this weekend. Have a great time. You are so kind to host several of the attendees, justjac . MARIBETHR , I still have your Halloween card with the little mummy sitting on my window sill. That's the only Halloween decor in the house this year! I usually have Alex come help me decorate, but he is staying away more because of covid and I just haven't had the energy. Do you do LOAD or just Calvin Ball? joyfulnana , I hope you get some time to scrap this weekend, or to just veg out. I love that baby page you posted. Just precious. kellyr21 , take care of yourself. I hope to see your latest painting soon. Will you do a video of it? Linda , hope you are doing well. Drop in when you get a minute. kitbop , thanks for the ideas of the salads. I would love that. DH will eat salads only if they are iceberg lettuce. He says he doesn't care for weeds! I think we could adjust the lettuce to go with the chicken or ham or whatever. He doesn't cook at all, and it's probably a good thing! He is very good about saying, "Let's go get dinner." I hope you can get your flu shot. I need to get the floors scrubbed today and my living room needs a good dusting. Too bad these things don't take care of themselves so I can spend the time scrapping! LOL

No I do not do LOAD, just Calvin Ball. The LOAD prompts do not really fit my style of scrapbooking, and I end up making pages just to fulfill the challenge and not something I care to keep in my albums. Now if the prompts were only to make food pages or courthouse pages I would be all over it - LOL. Anxious to get some scrafting done this weekend as next weekend will begin the Holiday Home transformation, and that is getting hard and hard to do as I add on those years.
