For us if we go quick and easy we tend to select very unhealthy foods Yes, this is what happens with me as well. And honestly, I'm tired of it. Tired of the choices, and knowing I'm not eating the best. I really enjoy the Hello Fresh meals, but oh my some of them use every pot, pan and bowl in my kitchen! lol. To deal with this, DH and I try to do a dinner salad 4 nights a week This is a perfect solution and I'm going to steal it. I get tired of salad sometimes but it can't be beat for a quick meal! I'm sorry it's your long week, but that means the weekend off next week right? grammadee and justjac have fun! Yes, I'm on the bench with nylene wishing I could be there too lol. I'm not sure yet if I get that quiet weekend or not. DS2 and his GF wanted to come by, but we never really solidified those plans. I'm ready if they do. Cody and I will binge the last two episodes of Squid Game at some point then take a break from shows for a few weeks. It's fun but I'm also ready for a TV break. With today a bit up in the air, I'm planning to do nothing but scrap tomorrow! I have so many page kits looking at me from Sketchtember and I want to get to them. While in the back of my mind is preparing for JYC. I have way more ideas than time, that's for sure! I should probably schedule crop hosting time every weekend so that I actually scrap. It's so easy to let other things take priority. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

then take a break from shows for a few weeks No, no - try "only murders in the building". 10 episodes. Short. Fun! Easy watch. I promise! Abby will appreciate the couch time If you do volunteer to host crops, I will do my utmost to attend! I have so many projects that have deadlines (christmas cards, wedding invites, another retirement book). But I don't want to volunteer to host yet because we are so busy that I'm kinda unreliable...

That's why I haven't volunteered lately. I'm still busy and not ready to commit to that amount of time. But it's really the only way I make scrapping a priority. Let me clarify on the TV - a few weeks break from watching shows with Cody lol. I have my own shows I watch too and I watched the first episode of Only Murders last week. I'll be finishing it

nylene reminded me I haven't checked in much lately. I've been busy with non-creative projects and family stuff and have been a bit burnt out creatively I think after Sketchtember. DH and I had a date day on Friday - went to a nearby county's library book sale and added to my 'to read' pile(s) and hit a bunch of thrift stores as well - had lunch out (takeaway). It was nice - we don't often take time for just us. dd21 went out with friends for the first time in ages - they did a drive-thru haunted event and had a blast. Then she did an overnight campout a couple of hours away with her horse people - they did a horseback costume parade and swimming with the horses and trail riding. She had a blast. But the timing on dropping her off/picking her up about 30 mins away broke up the weekend and made it hard to work on any bigger/longer projects. dd15 was invited also but (wisely) decided she needed a quiet weekend to re-set after several busy ones in a row. DH finally installed our house numbers and decorated the stoop for Halloween - I had a couple of things out there including two pumpkins but he added spider webs and glow in the dark spiders... joyfulnana - I hope you had a good weekend. I'm with you and kitbop - I need the online crops to help me get motivated to scrap but setting aside the time is hard. kitbop - we were doing salad several times a week but the past few months, the lettuce and salad mixes have been terrible - I can buy on Friday night and it's inedible by dinner on Saturday. So we haven't had much salad lately. grammadee - hope the crop was fabulous! Hi shinyhappytina - I'm sorry that your job is such a challenge - but it sounds like you make an important difference for kids and their families. Glad you were able to take the trip - it's hard when they grow up to manage to do family stuff with everyone. MARIBETHR - I love your Blue Apron pages - I hear you on quick and easy being not so healthy. We struggle with that as well especially now with weekends busy and DD having practise and meets after school. I know I've missed some folks - sorry. Hi to everyone and I'll try and stop in a little more often

Sounds like everyone has been busy! I am--again--behind in commenting on the creations in the Sharing thread, and also in CARDtober. Have tried to keep up in the Gallery. kitbop and gramma and nylene have been creating alot of cool cards. I saw some of justjac's cards IRL this weekend, and they are gorgeous. Wait til she shares them! I am home from the crop. It was fun and productive. justjac and hubby were great hosts, but I think they were both relieved when we left. I too wish we could somehow have an IRL crop with all of you! I keep telling people that if you came up here to the farm with your photos and your glue, I could host a Potlatch crop where I provide all the other supplies. You would all go home with lots of finished pages, and--maybe--there would be a dent in the scrappy stuff in this room... Could feed you all too for quite awhile before I noticed an empty space in my freezer. Any takers? I have a few pages that need finishing touches which I hope to do tomorrow. When those are done, I will have 25 pages to share. I did the summer birthdays, and the rest are mostly lake and camping pages. And my October calendar page is done. They are all pretty basic pages, lots of photos but not alot of techniques. I was laughing b/c when we had a timed challenge, kitbop was in my head, and with three minutes left I was grabbing things to glue into a CLUSTER... Still feel like I am behind, as I have lots more photos from this past summer. hoping to use the supplies and ideas from the SCT event in November to scrap my fall pic's. Really want to get them done before I leave mid November, because I have a feeling I will come home with a ton of hockey and other photos to play with...

Card making is about all I have accomplished this month. Work has been getting best of me. I come home most evenings just plain tired. I redid my craft room last Saturday and Sunday. Moved old things out and new pieces in. I'm much happier with a bigger sitting workspace and now have decent space for both sewing and scrapping. This Saturday I took a big deep breath and went to Stamp & Scrap Expo. I got to spend a day shopping and cropping with friends I haven't seen for almost a year. A lot fewer vendors but that meant a much easier space to walk and shop. I think some of the shortage was due to vendors still being unhappy with the owner of the Expo because of last year's cancellation and her inability to give refunds. She did give credits but some were still B***hy about it. The other thing is that the vendors had trouble getting product and moving it from show to show is very expensive. But - OMG there was a PhotoPlay booth. Paper kits for $5.00. And Keep It Simple was selling their paper packs for half price. Right up my alley for coordinated papers. keepitsimplepapercrafts.com/collections/back-to-basics So I put a dent in my wallet. Had to support the vendors that did who and the Expo as a whole ;-) Maybe we can do virtual crops this coming weekend??

Happy Tuesday, Pokeys! Dh is busy all day helping his nephew with cows, so I had hoped to continue the momentum of the crop and scrap the day away, but that is not happening. I have never been diagnosed with IBS, but my gut is--to describe it accurately--IRRITATED today. More than merely irritated, it is downright ANGRY. So I am taking it pretty easy. Did a few finishing touches on some pages I started at the crop and got those posted. Emptied one tote, found a few items I had been looking for all weekend, set those aside to use on a couple of other unfinished pages, and put the rest of the papers away. Your date sounds sweet, Linda. Dh and I used to go out for supper on birthdays and other special occasions, but it has been hard to plan anything with rules changing all the time and many of the local restaurants deciding to ride it out by doing take out only. And the longer he stays at home, the less he wants to go anywhere... gramma, your Stamp & Scrap Expo adventure sounds wonderful! Depending on how I am feeling and what dh has on the go, I would love to join a virtual crop on the weekend. No one is coming this weekend b/c they are doing Halloween stuff at home. Sunday at 10:00 Mountain time is best for me, but if that doesn't fit with your schedule, I can scrap then anyway and then drop in to chat when you are virtually cropping.

grammadee - I hope you're feeling better very soon. Taking it easy sounds wise. gramma - what a fun adventure - one day, I'll make it to an event like that, I hope. Good job reorganising your space. Had a doctor's appointment scheduled bright and early (720) this morning but DH(my ride) was a little slow and we didn't get there until 726 and they had me reschedule. I understand why they do that and I apperciate that they are rarely running behind schedule but I'm a bit irked at DH (who was angry about them not seeing me anyway, sigh). Punctuality has never been his strongest suit. I could have gotten in this afternoon but he had an appointment then so I'm rebooked for next week. Long day for DD15 as she has an Academic Team meet today after school. So it's just me and DD21 at home (and she's busy with college work). I've been doing data entry all morning and now need to tackle some housework and yardwork and hopefully a sewing project. Not sure I'm going to make it to the scrap table today either.

grammadee So sorry to hear you're having troubles again. I know what that's like and it is NO FUN!! It was nice to be out and about with like minded people. The smaller event made for a better event in my opinion. We don't go out much either any more. The only times in the last year or so has been for a birthday dinner. And I went to my great grand-daughter's 2nd birthday party a couple of weeks ago. I did not go to her party last year. I'm just way afraid of the COVID monster. DH and I got our booster shots on Sunday so maybe that will make me feel safer. But I'm sure Colin Powell thought he was safe. So if I set up a crop from 9AM to 1PM (California time) on Sunday would that work for you?

grammadee I'm sure you know all the tricks. But my surgeon told me that I should east some small amount of something several times a day. I chose soda crackers. Also, don't drink really cold things on an empty stomach. Warm tea helped also. And Pepto Bismal became my best friend for awhile. I want you better chickie, I miss you!!

grammadee, I am sorry you are feeling yucky. I hope you innards will settle down soon. They can be a real pain in neck...or gut. Your get-together with justjac and friends sounds like such fun. However a 15 min challenge would kill me. It takes me a long time to just decide what papers to use. I saw a couple of your pages in the gallery, but haven't checked the Sharing thread since before the weekend. gramma, I am so glad you got to get out and associate with real people and real friends. I haven't been to an Expo for years, but when my daughters went with me we had so much fun. I loved all the vendor. Thanks for the link to the Keep it Simple website. Why have I never even heard of them. I, too, like their coordinated papers. Linda, I am sorry you missed your Dr. appt. I'm sure your DH will be a little quicker for the next one! We are getting our boosters tomorrow afternoon. I will feel much better once we get them. I can tell you have been busy with lots going on. Thanks for checking in so we know you aren't ill. I have done a lot of the challenges, but just can't keep up. I have done at least one from each hostess. I hope to finish a few more before the end of the month. I don't know if I can get on the online crops this weekend. We have a big Fall Festival at the church on Friday evening and we are still deciding whether we'll go. It gets rowdy with kids in costumes and the noise level is too hard on DH's hearing aids. I hope he makes the decision not to go. On Sat. we will have trick-or-treaters at the door starting at about 4 p.m. I may be able to scrap between doorbells. LOL. I may be able to hop on for a few minutes at the end of the Sunday crop. Waving to each of our Pokeys. I don't know what I'd do without all you special people.

Good Morning pokeys! grammadee wow, 25 pages! That's half my yearly output lol. I hope you feel better soon and are able to play this weekend. I'll miss the Sunday crop - Rudy and I will be on our lunch date lol. I hope to see you see soon! Linda your date day sounds glorious! I'm so glad you two had some time together for just you. My niece was complaining this week about how Dr's offices insist you are there on time and then make you wait anyway. Sounds like your Dr's office runs a pretty tight ship. I'm sorry they made you rebook. gramma I feel you on the work front. The past couple weeks have been really busy and draining but it's eased up again. I think about retirement every day lol. I won't make Sunday's crop, but Saturday night is looking good! Might have to jump up for a bit so Rudy and Dad can come trick or treat here and show me their costumes before they head out for an adventure with Rudy's cousins. Going to the expo sounds fun! I know they have one here, but I've never gone. My kids were all here this past Sunday and that was really nice, but it makes the weekend go so fast! Finished Squid Game so that's off my plate lol. Next weekend is not a Rudy weekend and I've warned everyone that this is MY weekend. I would love to just scrap the entire weekend. Which always sounds good in theory and never quite works that way lol. nylene I'm glad to hear you are getting your booster! I'll be eligible next month. I also still need to get in for a mammo, a pacemaker check (it's starting to act the way it did before it needed replaced last time). I'm not even looking forward to that. And I need to get new glasses! I had all these grand plans before Covid and now it's like I've forgotten how to function in the world outside of trips to the grocery store lol. I'll get my flu shot soon too. I hope they get the vaccine approved for the younger kids soon. I'll feel like I can breathe a little sigh of relief once Rudy and all the other little ones can be protected. I hope everyone is having a great week!

Good Wednesday morning, Pokeys. Congratulations on the boosters, nylene. Dh got his Covid booster and his annual flu shot on the same day last week and had minimal side effects. I hope you both escape any bad side effects. Like joyfulnana, I am anxious to have the KIDS vaccinated. Seems that they carry every other germ known to man home from school, so it makes sense if we want to protect the population we need to stop the spread in the schools. So sorry you have to rebook your dr appointment, Linda. Isn't it like a man to blame a mistake on everyone and everything else before looking in the mirror... Has that dr always been like that? Or are they keeping the waiting room empty due to Covid? The surgeon I saw had a policy that we wait in our cars in the parking lot until we were called to come into the clinic. They "processed" us there, and then when we were finishing up they were calling the next person. I moved on to the dr's examining room before the next person walked in the front door. Don't know what would have happened if I had been late. I was pretty early waiting in my vehicle. Shouting out hi to kitbop, MARIBETHR, msliz, knutschen, shinyhappytina, and any other Pokeys. Touching wood, but I am feeling a lot better this morning. Pretty tired and achy, but no stabbing pains or nausea, so that's progress. I took gramma's advice and forced myself to eat some soda crackers mid afternoon yesterday, and then had chicken noodle soup thick with crackers for supper. Not feeling hungry this morning, but my coffee is going down better. Waiting for the light to get better to photograph some more pages I completed on the weekend.

Warm "hellos" to everyone. They finally turned on the heat at work. Even though we haven't seen frost yet, when a building is still running the AC in fall temperatures it can get COLD inside. We were all bundled up in hoodies to work last week, and I don't like long sleeves when I'm working with patients. grammadee - fingers crossed for your poor tummy. Unlike gramma, I find hot liquids really aggravating for my reflux - a fact I was reminded of last week when I started guzzling tea at work to get warm! May have been linked to a few pizza days as well. Hah. I'm really surprised they let your DH have both shots on 1 day. I'm hoping to get a booster by Christmas, but we'll see. joyfulnana - is your city trick or treating on Saturday? I've never seen Halloween happen any day other than Oct. 31 here - people just wouldn't coordinate that well. I'm glad you get a weekend to enjoy yourelf, and I'm sorry work is such a drag. I feel ya'. Especially on the speed that weekends fly by at. I feel guilty when I don't get much "done" but it feels like I really need that "nothing" time. Linda - OK, I'm with your DH there - the doctor should have accomodated you! I mean, maybe make your appointment shorter, but certainly you had some time "left" on your appointment? Now, that doesn't mean I forgive your DH either because this was an appointment for YOU and he should have hurried for YOU. Glad they rescheduled quickly. gramma - trusting your stomach is good now that you are anatomically correct again? You never mention it. You also never complain about work the way some of us other ones do. How? nylene - chaotic noise is bad on my ears without hearing aids! I have trouble picking sound out of a group, and it's one of the reasons I've never liked parties much. It sounds like your church runs some great fun times for the kids tho! So, while typing this post, I have stopped for supper, made cookies, gone to the store for eggs (discovered at the wrong moment while making cookies), and washed dishes. Honestly, it's not the technology giving me ADHD, it's life! I am currently designing wedding invitations for a friend... I've made about 7 prototypes, and they have now chosen one. My LEAST favourite. Figures. But that's exactly why I tried to do some different than I would chose, and it is a "simpler" card to produce so I guess we're good there! I'll have to photograph and share the batch of them. I should do a poll and see what the peas think!!! They loved the slimline format. Cool!

Feeling more like myself today. Still a little achy and tired, but that is kinda the same ol' same ol' for me. Had enough energy to take on our biggest pumpkin, peel it, and cut it up. It is simmering right now. Another ten minutes, I just need to shut off the burner and let it cool in the big pot before it needs to be drained overnight. Photographed and posted the last three LO's from the crop weekend. Decided to share a few of my pages here. First is the one I had done in the "pressure cooker" challenge. @neylene, we had a whole hour, not just 15 minutes. And we knew the challenge was coming, so I had selected the sketch and the papers and photos before hand. In the hour I did the cutting and arranging and pasting. It was the clusters that gave me fits at the end... brave & beautiful by Gramma Dee, on Flickr This second one I had prepared for before the crop by using Vicki Boutin art crayons on her Foundations cs to create a watery background. Family Summer fun by Gramma Dee, on Flickr This one I used a couple of Concord & 9th slimline card dies that had never come out of their package until the weekend: Happy birthday to you by Gramma Dee, on Flickr For this one, the background was completely pre made--out of a pp pad I found at Michaels'. I used a couple of border strips I scored from a friend at the crop. Live love LAKE by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Awesome layouts grammadeeTook photos of the girls at the local produce shop - they always decorate outside for fall photo ops. But otherwise taking it easy - lots of back and joint pain the past few days. Tomorrow I'm putting together a special Hallowe'en buffet for the family - looking forward to hopefully getting TorT'rs this year - we've never ever lived anywhere that did but hopefully being in a subdivision will help. DS turned 30 yesterday - we sang Happy Birthday via video chat.

grammadee Hello! I have gotten myself behind again. Time just gets away from me anymore. I am on a little vacation from work which is much needed. The last few days I worked before vacation made me want to quit and follow through with living in my vehicle and being a digital nomad! 😂 Thank goodness we have teamwork on our unit or I would have sunk. I have been trying to relax and get a few things done at home while on vacation. I feel like I am closer to getting my garage door. A company has finally been assigned my job. I need to follow up on this tomorrow though. He was trying to locate my garage door before scheduling the install. I am also getting a crown on a tooth this coming week. I thought a root canal was in my future with my current crown but the x-rays were good. On further evaluation, I have a crack in my tooth next to my crown. Geez. I don't do well with anything beyond a cleaning so he is sedating me. I even had a panic attack before he even diagnosed me that day and I was trying to be calm. My poor dentist! I will have to catch up more later. I am at the coffee shop and they are closing. I hope everyone is doing good and have a safe and Happy Halloween!

((((Hugs))) sorry about the dental work knutschen and hopefully your garage door is almost done NO trick or treaters tonight - DH and I sat outside for two hours and never spied a single one Our girls enjoyed our Halloween buffet though - Halloween shaped jello jigglers, blackberries, creamsicle fluff, pumpkin dip with apples and gingersnaps, trailmix (chexmix, candy corn, and M&Ms), sherbet punch, cheese cubes, our traditional Hallowe'en hotdogs in crescent rolls, and a candy charcuterie board.
