Hi ladies! Our chat this month is as spread out as your covid parade jjpeapea - takes a day for the next pea to chime in Must have been so nice to get out and participate in getting back together! Take care of your leg - yes, exercise is a 2 sided coin as we get older - so easy to hurt ourselves and end up worse than before. I have a hard time ramping down on intensity to protect myself - once I get going, I figure I might as well push as hard as I can, and that's not the right mindset. I have so many projects on the go - some are craft related, which is nice, but I have to be careful not to ignore my "real life" projects which aren't as much fun! My to do list is unfortunately strewn with items that have strict deadlines and are critical to life ongoing... those are the worst. When we moved my Dad out last Spring, we donated everything except a very few items we think we can actually sell. We didn't want to mess around with china and furniture at all. He didn't have much...and it was hard work...so I really feel for you peas sorting through houses and collections.

my DH is cleaning out his mom's house and like your plates, they are saying, "What are we going to do with all these crystal bells?" The bells are going to a consignment shop but we don't have a lot of hopes for them. I can be thankful that at least MIL never collected crystal bells! lol. She collected every other imaginable thing, it seems, but wasn't into bells. I've been trying to carve out more time to craft but not to share here. I'm trying to catch up without flooding the thread, and I don't know that I have the energy to check all of the cardtober challenges to see if I've accidentally met some of them. I know I haven't been following along and actually being challenged by them. I probably should've skipped this time, but a little participation is better than none, I guess. I'm trying to fill up the empty space in the box I'm sending to Bring Smiles to Seniors. At a certain point it makes more sense to send one large flat rate box instead of 2 medium ones, so now I have space for 40-50 more cards... so I'm trying to do quick, no brainer cards. That's actually a nice break from crafting to a holiday shopping deadline, which I always fail at, or trying to make stuff people will want to buy. Trying to ignore the massive pile of things to sell/donate this month that's gathered in my living room. We're donating more these days than we used to, or giving it away on Buy Nothing, but even donating the whole lot isn't really an easy ask for the volume of stuff we have, even if FIL was on board with that. We're masking progress though...

I'm sorry - I'm a terrible team member this month. I haven't had mojo - I think I'm burnt out after Sketchtember - and life has been busier in general with DD15's academic team practise and meets and her new Girl Scout troop and both girls horseback riding and DD21 needing rides (she went out Friday night and then camping with horses overnight Sat-Sun) and stuff that needs to be done around the house and ... sometimes I feel like a hamster on a wheel - running and running and not getting anywhere.
I am hoping to set aside a day this week to see if I can power through some of the card challenges.

I just can't seem to keep up with the Divas thread as well as each of the Card challenge threads and Pokey Peas. I apologize for always being a no-show. I haven't even looked at the list of challenges for points this month. I have no idea if any of my cards fit, but I'm glad for the Easy Peasy method if I don't ever get to it. I am over a week behind on the Card challenges but know I can never really catch up. I appreciate those who have posted challenges and hope to try every technique even if it's next month or later.
Those of you who are cleaning out parents' homes, I have empathy. It took us forever to clean out my parent's small house. We were fortunate that there were 6 of us and many of the things were things we wanted and could use. It was a very stressful time, however. Hang in there!
It has been a long day. I'm ready to relax and watch a bit of TV.

Been a busy-ish week or so for me too. I haven’t checked in either, sorry. I have been posting in the cardtober challenges and put up two of the sketchy Saturday challenges—those were so much fun! Today and tomorrow will for certain be days of fun back in the scraproom, so I should be doing some catch up on cardtober and maybe do some layout sketches from either sketchy Saturdays or sketchtember.
I know the day is coming in the next few weeks of cleaning out my parents house, my stepfather is passing very soon, he is in hospice and in the active dying stages, but not suffering, they are doing an amazing job of caring for him. My older brother and sister are managing his care also as I live 375 miles away. It’s sad to see the end of that era coming, as the closeness of our family is happening since my mom passed and now my stepfather. My sister and I are trying, but the younger two brothers don’t care much for all of this and aunts and uncles are passing/passed and cousins are scarce. It’s hard to see that side of the family “dissolving”. But, we still have our own children and their kids to move forward. They are a blessing.
So, grabbing a few snacks, and some diet cokes for the mini fridge and upstairs to the scraproom, I will post pics later!

Happy Halloween Divas! @zingermack , boymom5 , ComplicatedLady , AussieMeg , jjpeapea , gramma , katiekaty , nylene , Linda , joblackford , teacherlisaThat was a quick month, kinda quiet on the boards right? Did anyone get all the cartober challenges completed? I only did 2, but I made 45 cards. That blows my personal record out of the water. Adding my points up this month is going to be different than a simple stack of layouts. Challenges this month included 10 POINTS/DAY OF NOT SPENDING 1-2 POINTS PER DOLLAR SPENT ORGANIZATION/CLEANING 10 POINTS/HOUR CRAFTING TIME IN GROUPS (LIKE THE VIRTUAL CROPS) 10 POINTS/HOUR So by my estimation everyone has at least 310 base points from that!!! Can the Divas try to get me points totals by Wednesday: I'll look in the official tally thread, but you can also post them here or PM me with them. Hope you have a good Halloween evening, whatever that looks like in your house. My DS 23 is hoping to carve pumpkins... he forgot the date... and NOW he want's to get Halloweenish!

kitbop - was/is there the 'no craft day' pts this month? Or is that only a challenge in certain months?

kitbop, thanks for being our Diva leader. I forgot about spending/not spending points, so I will go update my spot with those. I did all the CARDtobers - that was one of my goals for the month. Now it's a rainy grey day here. We tried to take a walk but the mist turned into something a little heavier so we cut it short. My daughter wants to give her rubber band bracelets to the trick or treaters, so I told her I would put the clips on. I guess I'll find a football game and do that. DD is going to wear her cheerleader costume and pass out the candy. I'm glad she has something fun to look forward to. Then she has a party at her sheltered workshop tomorrow, involving a different costume. I hope you all had a lovely October and that your November will be full of things to be thankful for.

I need to tally up points and review the cardtober challenges tomorrow. I have some spending and not spending points for sure, and tons of card points although not so many from the challenges. And crochet points:) If I manage to finish the border of my blanket tonight I could get a big finishing bonus!
We picked up and delivered several large heavy pieces of antique furniture that our FIL was selling to my friend who moved a couple of hours south of us. It was a long drive and I was a little anxious, having it all strapped in a rental trailer. But it was the most exquisite clear day we don't often get during fall, the sun was golden and all the mountains were out, even Mt St Helens (my fav). The most beautiful drive with fall color everywhere. It was a really long day though, even as passenger and non-lifter.

Hi, kitbop. I am sorry I am slow with my totals. I haven't felt well this weekend so I just quickly totaled my cards with Easy Peasy and added the money spent/no money spent, organization pts and crafting with others. I know I did the twist on most of the cards I completed, but don't have what it take to go back and add that in. This will have to do for this month. Total 1277

Just a heads-up that some people might be trying to get the last few points for cardtober challenges which actually run until the 4th, so you might have a few people running late. I am going to try and finish one more challenge, but I'll try to have points totaled tonight. Thanks for hosting
