I bought her some book bins. I am sure she loves your support! Oh dear. I sent book bins too. They wouldn’t be the same ones, would they?

One tip that some of my preschool teachers used was to change the books out every month. It is surprising how the kids enjoy looking at different books. It is very good of you to help her, and I’m sure that she will do great.

Welcome back! Two small things from her list ordered. I hope they help her and the children have a good school year.

The insane amount of books is one of the nicer things the former tenants of the room left behind but there’s soooooo many! I like this idea because once she cleans out that horrible closet, there is built in shelving for things like all those extra books. I love this idea!

I was fortunate enough to work with some excellent teachers. They also switched out toys periodically.

I love your heart! I feel as excited for you to receive all these gifts as I am for her. What you are doing is amazing in itself. Brings tears to my eyes. If only every teacher had a Dani-Mani standing with them and truly caring about their success!
ETA - my order says it will be delivered Wednesday, Oct 13

If only every teacher had a Dani-Mani standing with them and truly caring about their success! ETA - my order says it will be delivered Wednesday, Oct 13 This made me finally cry! I was STUNNED when she told me she didn’t have a mentor. It makes no sense. Last year was her first year and she didn’t have one either. This is why we lose amazing teachers. They need help the first few years! So I meet with her once a week to discuss transitions, behavior, classroom management, etc. What went well? What didnt? Once she felt she redirect too much-it’s Kindergarten sooo 😂 But still, I went in with my data sheets and tracked how many times and brainstormed ways to nonverbally redirect. She said they touched all the little things-so the chime she used to transition, I told her give them all a chance to touch it because they’re curious! She soaks up EVERYTHING I tell her and she’s so incredibly willing to try. I refuse to allow her to fall victim to feeing like she has no support and can’t do this. The curriculum specialists meet with each grade level once per week so I know there’s support there. It takes a village not just for the kids, but for the teachers too. I adore the kids I get to work with, but truly, the consulting with teachers about all of those things I listed above is truly the best.

I will look at the list later. Just wanted to say YOU ROCK!! Find a way to encourage her to go home on time at least 2x a week. She will burn out fast at the rate she is at right now. Does your school not have a mentor program?? Thank you for helping her. I would not have survived my first year teaching without another teacher helping me out!!

Her fiancé is a firefighter and I told her to use his wacky schedule to her advantage-the days hes off, come home and spend time with him. When he’s doing 24 on, stay late and get things done! She agreed this makes sense. She has no mentor and didn’t last year, her first year, either:

A few things are on their way. I just substituted in a classroom that made good use of the book boxes, so I ordered a set of those. They are not Prime Shipping, so may not arrive until the end of the week.

Sent her a little something. I so appreciate your willingness to help her out and mentor her. My district is terrible at mentoring new teachers and I know it would help so much if we had a real mentor program.
