Done! This fits beautifully with my resolution to say “yes” when someone asks for me help that’s within my power to give.
I sent a wobble board that would have been SO good for my dd at that age and a couple of gift cards so she can get one of those higher ticket items.

The multicultural crayons are huge because she’s adamant their drawings of themsleves should truly match what they look like. I tried to find more in target but they were sold out. |

I’m late to the party—this thread was started after I went to bed (in Belgium). What about a big carpet for her room? Or sit spots? I’d be happy to kick in $$ if anyone else wants to go in on that as well. And if you (Dani) are willing to do the leg work. That floor looks cold for little kids to sit on for circle time.
I’d also be willing to put the money towards painting the room or a piece of big furniture that can’t be purchased from Amazon.

the crayons came in a bundle of 6/7 boxes I got 2 bundles of 6/7 boxes. Could you please add Shades of Me construction paper?

I just ordered the "Greater Than / Less Than" tool because, to this day, I still can't tell the difference which is which!
I taught fourth grade for 5 years, then quit. Part of the reason was because teaching wasn't a good fit for me- it was so hard to be all things to all kids all the time. I think the biggest reason was burnout, though. I could have worked 24/7/365 and STILL there would have been more work to do- more ways to differentiate- more contacts to make with students or parents- more to read and learn. I was never, ever, ever done.
And every day I knew I failed. There was always one lesson that wasn't quite engaging enough, and one kid that I didn't differentiate for, and one bad behavior that I either paid too much or not enough attention to. I couldn't deal with knowing that no matter how hard I worked or how many hours I put in, I was going to fail at something... many things!... that day anyway.
OMG it's been 20 years since I left the classroom and just writing this down has brought tears to my eyes.
Anyway, I hope this young teacher has a better experience and an awesome year!
