Another vote for Dead Aunt Cookies (Belle, right). And Suffy Ann’s almond roca. Holiday staples here. I checked the dessert recipe board and these aren’t listed. Does anyone have the recipe? And the story behind the name? I would especially like the story behind the name! We tried Kami’s brownies and were underwhelmed and disappointed. Been looking for an amazing homemade brownie recipe for ages. User error, for sure. But we don’t know enough to know what we don’t know. Total bummer. 2peasrefugees.boards.net/thread/203/belles-magics-cream-cheese-cookiesRead all the way down....the explanation is there...LOL

QueenoftheSloths .... thanks so much for posting the recipe for Legacy Girl's Inside Out Stuffed Pepper Casserole. Made it for dinner last night and Larry and I loved it. I used 1 and 1/2 cups rice instead of 1 cup and used two small cans of Rotel Tomatoes with Green Chiles and 2 cups of a marinara sauce instead of the diced tomatoes and tomato sauce part of the recipe because that is what was in our cupboard. Rotel made it a little spicier than I like but sour creme on top solved that We've been fighting a cold so reheated left overs is on tap for tonight. Thanks again

Saltine cracker candy. It’s listed on the recipe board as ~ gagenana’s cracker candy. I’m pretty sure it’s from the old board. It’s soooo easy to make and it’s usually referred to as *crack* for a very good reason. 😊 Is this the quickie toffee? Thank you for the reminder, it is so good! There’s a vanilla cake with cranberries we love with very simple ingredients . barefeetinthekitchen.com/cranberry-christmas-cake/I’ve used other berries and served in the spring and summer. It’s versatile and pretty. I wish I knew which Pea to thank!

There was a pea a long time ago who's aunt made everyones favorite cookie but no one could duplicate it. After she passed away they found the recipe and she had left out an ingredient. She posted it and it is our favorite.

I ran across the 2P’s recipe book that was created on the old board. I’d forgotten I even had it. I forgot all about that and am now trying to figure out what I would have done with my copy.

Now I know what I’m making for them, thanks so much!

I tried to get to the 2P's recipe book and I can't get to that either. Thanks! There is an entire separate board called recipes and here is the link to the recipe book. If it doesn’t work just go to the recipe board itself 2peasrefugees.boards.net/thread/211/peas-recipe-books

Something is up with my settings since the latest Safari update. None of the links work that anyone has posted. Each one goes to Google and not the recipes including the ones on the recipe board. I can copy/paste a link into a new window and it's fine. I have to figure out what in my Safari settings needs to be changed. Thanks for your help!!

Legacy Girl posted a recipe for stuffed pepper casserole many years ago that is one of DH's favorite meals. It is just the best dinner on a cold day. Inside out Stuffed Pepper Casserole 2 cups chicken broth 1 cup uncooked rice ( not instant) 1 lb ground beef 1 medium onion, chopped 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes, drained 2 t. minced garlic Garlic salt, onion powder, Italian seasoning to taste 2 medium bell peppers, seeded and finely chopped 1 1/2 cups tomato sauce (could add an extra ½ c) 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Directions Boil broth and pour over uncooked rice in greased 9 x 13 " pan. Brown meat with pepper and onion and garlic. Drain well. Season with garlic salt, onion powder, Italian seasoning. Stir in diced tomatoes and sauce. Pour over rice. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes uncovered Oh I may have to try this. My stuffed peppers are so much work snd take hours.

Another thing I like about this recipe instead of regular stuffed peppers is that it's so much easier to eat. Stuffed peppers always slide around on the plate for me. I chop my peppers coarsely instead of fine, and I skip the cheese because we don't like cheese on stuffed peppers. This recipe is easy to tweak to your taste. A pea mentioned above that she made it with spicy tomatoes and served it with sour cream and now DH wants to try that next time.

I made the rice and cooked everything else and it’s ready to reheat tonight. I added everything but will sub out Parmesan cheese for cheddar. It smells good and was pretty quick. I just rough chopped everything. The seasonings are a bit different than when I do stuffed peppers but I think this will be a hit. I’m hoping I have the energy to make a salad and garlic bread to go with. This was pretty quick and I just used my dash mini rice cooker and a cast iron pan so not a lot of dishes so another plus.
