ALL of them unvaccinated! His brother and his wife. His sister and her husband. His sister's son. They are all very sick, but his sister's husband is on a vent in ICU with COVID pneumonia. My husband said they are all extremely anti vaccine. Wonder if they will change their minds?? They all live in another state, in the same town, and I don't know if they all have been together to get exposed or not. Other than the nephew, none of them are young--all in their early to mid 60s. One of my sister in law's daughters has a baby. My sister in law is also a cancer survivor. Once again, I do NOT get it. UPDATE 11/6 Now, my dad has Covid and was admitted to the hospital this morning. He has it for the second time! He is vaccinated, so hopefully, he will have a milder case than he had in February. (He was hospitalized then, too). He had surgery on his leg last week, and he must have gotten it from the hospital. Either that or from his home health aid. He had a negative test before his surgery on Friday, and he hasn't been anywhere since he got home on Monday. UPDATE 11/4/2021 My brother in law who was on a ventilator died tonight. My husband's brother is in the hospital, but his wife said tonight that he is starting to improve. She said he asked her this morning to not to tell him anything negative about the brother in law on the ventilator because he is having a hard time mentally dealing with it. I'm so sad. I feel like this death was so unnecessary, and my heart breaks for my sister in law, who I love dearly, and his kids and grandkids. I'm also so tired of people who act like covid is not a big deal, it's mostly over now, etc.

I'm sorry to hear. I don't wish it upon anyone, but I do hope more people would go ahead and get vaccinated. Hope they recover quickly.

I truly love all of these people. We don't see them often as they don't live near us, and I didn't know they were anti vaccine.

Wonder if they will change their minds? It goes either way. I've read stories of family members who still refuse to get the vaccine even after a loved one dies, and then there are the stories where the whole family rushes out and gets vaccinated. I am sorry for your husband's family. I hope everyone recovers!

I'm sorry and hope they do recover. Sadly, I don't think anything will change their minds unless one or more dies and/or others are left with longterm problems and crippling healthcare bills.

Wonder if they will change their minds?? No. All you have to do is read r/HermanCainAward to see how many of these people are dug in and will NEVER change their minds. Their loved one died of something other than Covid. Their loved one only caught covid because of vaccinated people spreading it. The doctors could have saved them, but chose not to. They got the "ultimate healing" and that's even better than surviving. They died for freedom to not get vaccinated, and that's better than having to get THE JAB. Out of all of the HCA stories I've seen, maybe 2-3 have changed their mind on the vaccine. The others all just shrug their shoulders as if this was a totally unpredictable random thing that happened and there was nothing to do to stop it from happening. Oh, and if you could give to their gofundme, that would be great.

I got home from running an errand and I saw an old beat up pick up truck where they painted on the side 'the vaccine is aborted fetuses'. I was shocked. What the f is wrong with the idiots? So is Tylenol, you fool.

Even the Pope said (in essence): Don't buy on to the aborted fetus idea. Get a vaccine. Yep, I'm Catholic, and my priest is pushing vaccines and masks. He said that we are supposed to love other people, and care for them, and the best way to do that in a pandemic is to get a vaccine and wear a mask. I'm a Conservative Republican living in a highly Republican area, but I 100% agree with him. If I caught Covid, I'd probably survive. But if I gave it to just one other person, that would be SO WRONG. I got vaccinated as soon as I could.

I have a family member that owns a "family-run business" - that has had to close because they are all sick with COVID. They refuse to even get tested, because you know, "hoax" but c'mon. If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck...

My SIL lost her husband to covid, she is recovering from it as well as her other brother. She called me last week and told me she was told that people who are not vaccinated only get covid once - and that she now is over it all and doesn't have to worry. In other words she believes if a person is vaccinated they will continue to get covid again and again. Another BIL had been vaccinated and had covid several times according to her. I wonder if he was tested or if the family just assumed it was covid? It turns out it was the NP that treated her for having pneumonia (due to covid) is her source of info.
That just does not make sense, but it gives them all an excuse not to get vaccinated. I kinda believe the NP told her just the opposite and she only heard part of the story. People hear what they want to hear and block out the rest.

I know several people that had it twice before there was a vaccine even available. Exactly that made national news. There is just no reasoning with some people though. Someone in my husband’s office has had it twice. She is young and landed in the hospital the second time and wasn’t doing well for a while. She is unvaccinated.

It’s unfortunate that this happened, but it’s no surprise.
I am so tired of hearing stories like this. I just can’t handle all these meatheads that think it’s a hoax or the vaccine is made from fetuses, etc. They will always find a way to spin it so they are right.

My nephew, his girlfriend, a niece and her husband, all had COVID recently, and were seriously sick. They were not vaccinated. To say I lost my mind a little is putting it mildly. They exposed my Dad, who has chronic heart failure, bad enough. Being the outspoken Aunt I am, I told all of them they fucking better not do something so stupid and irresponsible again. And I have no qualms over the fact I made several of them cry, because their lives changed when their sister died in 2014 from the flu at 24. Throwing their dead sister in their faces? Yes, that was me. Explaining in vivid detail what it would do to their Mother if they died, over something they could have prevented? So, yes, some people do change their minds on the vaccine. Because they are all getting vaccinated now

A whole passel of her extended family members recently had it, some had it pretty bad, and yet they still won’t get vaccinated. AND HIS WIFE IS A RETIRED NURSE! They say the vaccines “haven’t been tested enough,” but I would be willing to bet every dollar I have that if one of them got sick and had to be admitted to the hospital they would willingly be treated with whatever the doctors would throw at them, regardless of how much *those* treatments have been tested or whether they are FDA approved. It makes absolutely zero sense.

In the last 6 weeks 2 of my cousins have had it, together with their wives, adult children and a grandson (toddler)/ ( 9 in total), 2 + toddler were each hospitalised twice
A great niece, 13, had it a few weeks ago ( being vaccinated today) and my nephew and his 9DD currently have it.
I’m pretty sure all of the adults were double vaccinated.
Our local figures have been growing recently- South Wales, U.K.

I'm at a loss to understand their thoughts on this - How many more, over the 6. 82 billion jabs that have been given out worldwide is an acceptable number for them to decide that the vaccine will have been tested enough. Over 3 billion of those are fully vaccinated having had two jabs It's now coming up to 11 months since the first ever jab was given out - is that not long enough for these idiots. You're right they would soon accept the latest discovery of the meds that will save their life though.

I know someone who was vaccinated and died of Covid last month. Her family chose to include how much she advised people online about politics and other current events and dubunked "fake news" etc. It was...... something.

You're right they would soon accept the latest discovery of the meds that will save their life though. They are convinced that something bad will happen 20 years from now from the vaccine so are hedging their bets that they won’t get it snd if they do it will be mild because it has a 99.999 survival rate (according to them). They don’t get it. So many don’t have a mild case, many more have long Covid and some will die. But they think everyone that gets the shot is going to have complications 5, 10 or 20 years down the line when in actuality it’s more likely to have that kind of complication from Covid. I don’t think you can change most people minds at this point. I hope that your family members recover and don’t have any long lasting effects.
