Went to Costco for flu shot- about 1/2 wore masks Went to local Asian market- pretty much everyone wore masks
Went to my Dr. office and the front staff/Dr. did not wear a mask! I was shocked since he does see older patients. The surgical center next door, everyone there wore masks.

I live in MI and this state has a Democratic Governor and a Republican legislation. The Governor did a remarkable job of getting us through the pandemic until the legislature enacted laws to remove and/or restrict her emergency powers. Now it’s a cluster f#%+. I’d estimate less than 10% of the customers at many of the places I go wear masks. My friends recently moved into a red area and we’ve gone out to eat twice. Both times I was the only person wearing a mask. Luckily we went to less crowded restaurants but both times people stared at me like I was a freak. Next time we meet up I swear I’m going to write something on my mask like: “keep staring I do tricks!”

I live in a very red state. Go to Walmart and you may see a handful of people wearing masks. Our area has abysmal rates of vaccination. My county loses about 5 people per week. The health department releases statements and stats 3 to 4 times per week.
My cat had a procedure done 3.5 hours away. Outside of DC. The practice had stringent rules regarding mask wearing, etc… We went to a Whole Foods before picking her up. Maybe half the customers were wearing masks. I expected more.

We were eating "out"- restaurant and outdoor patio - at a local "food court" style venue. EVERYONE had masks on inside and removed them as they moved outside to their table. Going back for a drink, on goes the mask. No problem, no huffing, universal respect for others and for the rules. It was so nice to see and experience. I hope for the day that we won't be masking, but until then, I appreciate the calm, adult compliance here in Albuquerque. (We are in municipal elections - the "calm, adult" compliance might be changing due to 2 of the candidates for mayor - a Republican troglodyte and a "Democrat" being run by Republicans.)

Southern Ca area.
Depending on the day and time you will either see almost everyone is masks, or about half in masks.
No mandste. High vaccination rate for state, county, zip code.

Connecticut re instated the mask mandate in august but I live 15 mins away in NY and we have no mask mandate here. Barely anyone wearing masks. I would say more don’t then do.

Oklahoma is one of the states that has a law banning mask ordinances. People can only be encouraged to wear one but not required. As you can guess the percentage who do wear one tends to be low.

I was at the library and Costco yesterday. Only a few people in Costco were not masked, everyone at the library was. I still mask whenever I'm around people.
DH goes to HD about 500 times every weekend. I'm 90% sure he doesn't mask when out and about unless mandated.

Home Depot, NO ONE wearing a mask except for some of the employees! I thought I'd entered a time warp or something. And it was SO crowded. I went in the door, took one look, turned right around and left.
I'm so glad you did that! I would have done the same thing. There is nothing I need badly enough to put myself at risk.

Blue state, blue county, blue city.
90% correct masking 10% chin mask/no nose mask (I consider this unmasked)
Indoors
I still see many people outdoors wearing masks, at least 50%, even when distanced.

Red state, very anti-mask. No mandates anywhere and very vocal opposition if one is even discussed. It’s sooooo disheartening. Had a self-professed Christian pro-lifer coworker attempt to tell me how evil Dr. Fauci is the other day, he’s the inventor of the virus, don’t cha know? And making millions from it. I opened my mouth to reply, said she needed to shut off Fox and walked away before I throat punched her.

There is no mask mandate where I live in NY. Maybe 30-40% of people indoors are wearing them...?

In my province, we have to wear masks indoors. And I've seen pretty much %100 cooperation. We don't tend to wear them outdoors unless we are in line somewhere, close to others.

Lately when I venture out I often find myself thinking "am I the only 9ne around wearing a mask!?".
And of course followed by my obligatory "WTF!"
It's rather disappointing to say the least. Better in some areas but found here, not so much. Except on campus I see the college kids with them but I wonder how much is because "have to"
Oddly those I notice wearing masks are often alone. in their car. Or jogging in middle of no where, no people near. 🤷♀️
