My challenges this month are for you to create cards with scenes on them. You can create your scenes however you want: stamps, die cuts, ink blending, stickers, watercolour, anything. Today's challenge is to do a winter scene. The twist is to include snow, unless your winter doesn't include snow. Then the twist is to include a bird. I made two examples because after I sprayed the background for the first, I used the stencil as a stamp on the second. CARDtober 23-1CARDtober 23-2

Wow, justjac , these are both so pretty. I love the way you used the stencil as a stamp. What did you use to make your snow on the 2nd one? I really love the background you painted and the flash of red on the bird. These are both gorgeous cards.

justjac Thank you for the winter scene challenge! Ok the winter challenge wasn't a surprise but I waited for the twist. I love how a red bird looks in the snow, that flash of red against white, whether real life or images. I was lucky that my stamp set had a snowflake effect and a little bird in it.

justjac, those cards are stunning, and they obviously were a bit time intensive. They were totally worth it, though. jjpeapea, your card has a quiet, soft simplicity that is lovely. It shows the quiet beauty of new fallen snow. I had my card almost finished, then decided I didnāt like it, especially when I remembered that I had this Hearfelt Creations stamp and die set that I had never used before. I added white Wink of Stella on the snow, but the shimmer doesnāt show in the photo.

Great series of challenges, justjac! Being OUT in a winter scene is not that much fun for me: I hate being cold, but I love winter scenes when I am creating them out of paper, paint, &/or glitter, or viewing them from some warm space. Have already done quite a few, but I see some more winter card scenes in my future.

scrapnnana Very, very lovely. Your work is so well done, the coloring, the layering, the edges on your die cutting. What a warm, homey and charming scene. nylene hoping with crossed fingers for you to use your same stamp set with a winter scene. Just some bare branches? Some snow falling on them? No pressure ... just hoping.

justjac great challenge and cards. I love how you made 2 cards out of one print. jjpeapea love your cute scene and that snowman is adorable š @scrapnana wow! Beautiful card with all the details. I love how you put your winter scene in a wreath. Here is mine. Just got this die and of course had to play with her. Im not sure what the twist is? Snow or bird? I can easily add a bird to get the extra points. 20211029_072708-01 by Azcrafty, on Flickr

azcrafty, that little die cut girl is adorable, and I love the snow behind her. The scene is hushed and quiet. So lovely.

Gorgeous azcrafty. You are covered for the twist with the snow. I added in the bird for people who live in warm places and donāt do snowy cards.

jjpeapea, I love your card. It looks so quiet and peaceful. I love the just the tiniest bit of color on your snowman and bird. Perfect for a beautiful winter scene. scrapnnana, you have the most wonderful stamps! This wreath of greens, pine cones and birds is amazing. To top it off, the inside of the wreath shows that beautiful winter scene. Simply amazing card! azcrafty, I love that new die! She is beautiful. You have love in the gallery. katiekaty, I love the artistic look of this with red tree triangles, Your snow banks are so pretty as is the little red bird. The snowy background plus a layer of cut out snowflakes adds a lot of depth to your card. Very pretty. grammadee, thatās such a cute little penguin. I left love in your gallery. I used my same tree again, and it looked really great until it totally dried. Then my white ink blended into the background. I should have used white paint, I guess. I may try it again with paint. I am running out of time to finish the cards I have left to do. Winter scene

katiekaty, I love the contrast in this one as well. The bright trees against the sky really stand out. I love how the angle of the trees give a dimensionality. grammadee SO stinkin' cute! I can tell by the shadows there is a dimensionality to your hat and pom pom. Such a cute expression on the penguin's face. I started looking all over for a cardinal or sparrow and then I was like "duh .... penguin = bird". nylene thank you thank you thank you my CARDtober is now complete. I am not sure what you are talking about redo-ing this card because it looks great. I can see the soft snow against the soft grey very well. Thank you for using your stamp set all four scenes and playing along.
