I would think that if one was to deliver a speech on either the House or Senate floor on something they seem passionate about they should at least do their homework and think through what they are about to say so they don’t come off looking like not only an idiot but an ignorant idiot.

Letters to the Editors at the Washington Post..
“According to the Jan. 8 front-page article “Court majority has doubts on vaccine rules for businesses,” one of the lawyers opposed to the Biden administration’s vaccination-or-testing requirements argued by telephone because he tested positive for the coronavirus; Justice Sonia Sotomayor, who has diabetes, participated remotely; and seven of the eight justices present in the courtroom wore masks. If this were not ironic enough, consider that the public is prohibited from attending Supreme Court sessions because of the court’s coronavirus protocol established out of “concern for the health and safety of the public and Supreme Court employees.” And the court ruled Thursday against the Biden administration’s requirements for businesses even as coronavirus cases are at an all-time high in the United States.”
Abby Raphael, Arlington
“In another first-rate column concerning the Supreme Court, Ruth Marcus explained why “wearing a mask is the decent thing to do” because it protects not only wearers but also those around them. Justice Neil M. Gorsuch “chose poorly” by not wearing a mask, ostensibly because, as a libertarian, “he doesn’t like being told what to do.”
Ms. Marcus quoted Justice Gorsuch asking, in connection with vaccine mandates for hospital and nursing staff, “Could [the government] also implement regulations about exercise regimes, sleep habits, medicines and supplements that must be ingested by hospital employees in the name of health and safety?” It is astonishing that a Supreme Court justice would not recognize such a false analogy. Regulations involving exercise regimes, sleep habits, medicines or supplements would affect only those who follow them. They would be analogous to laws requiring seat belts and motorcycle helmets, which protect only the wearers. A mask mandate involves a public good — protection from disease — that benefits all members of society, including, albeit to a lesser extent, those who disregard it. Well-educated libertarians should recognize that such a mandate is analogous to a law that prohibits texting while driving, which also protects other drivers and pedestrians. As Mr. Gorsuch’s conduct makes clear, a public good cannot be adequately provided by simply asking individuals to do what is needed.”
Stephen Silberman, Arlington
“I was struck by the juxtaposition of columns by Sergio Peçanha [“Pope Francis, your comments on choosing pets over children don’t add up”] and Ruth Marcus [“Where was Gorsuch’s mask?”] and a letter from Robert E. Honig [“The value of social bonds”] in the Jan. 10 edition of The Post that all touched on the subject of freedom and community, because our nation and the world are being torn apart by these issues.
I take issue with Mr. Peçanha’s statement that “exercising free will is not equal to being selfish.” When your free-will choices impact other people or endanger other people, that is the definition of selfish. Not wearing a mask and not getting the vaccine endanger those around you. You’re free to make those choices in your own private space, but not in public. As Mr. Honig pointed out, our social bonds are what make us a united community, but if we think only of our “freedom” to make selfish choices, then our “community” will consist only of self-absorbed, immature individuals with no consideration for anything or anyone but themselves. That seems to me like a very cheap version of freedom. “
Molly Sprouse, Henrico, Va.
“Unlike Sergio Peçanha, I was not born a Catholic, but I am grateful that he spoke out against the comments made by Pope Francis regarding those of us who elect not to have children and the disturbing bridge of guilt that was then built to shame pet-parenting.
My wife and I were married later in life and made a difficult decision, largely based on our age, not to have children. Though I would have embraced being a father, I often consider the world today that we are leaving for future generations and the challenges that elderly parenting would have presented for my wife and me and for our children. I have no regrets. In our lifetimes, we have collectively raised 10 adorable canines, each with its own unique personality. All of these, save one, were rescued from abandonment, euthanasia or abuse. We have been fulfilled by their unconditional love and companionship. We regard them as part of our family.
This is an institution that has largely turned a blind eye to years of child abuse and molestation within its own ministry, so I’m not sure I understand what license it feels it has to pass judgment on those of us who rescue and raise pets, much less on those who weigh concerns about the dangers and potential consequences associated with raising children in today’s world. “
Steven Graul, Reston

So this guy Rick Hasen started I guess a political new letter which Marc Elias made a comment about since it had to do with the voting bill and a window to work with the Republicans.
Hasen’s feelings are hurt but he responded. And his response was “if you listen to how McConnell talked about that issue last January.”. The idea that one can believe anything McConnell is pretty funny. And of course the responses pointed it out to this guy.
But this is by far my favorite response since I constantly use it when talking about the Republicans…

I swear Kevin McCarthy has got to be one of the dumbest idiots around.
He won’t talk to the 1/6 Committee because he claims he has nothing of interest to tell the committee. But yet here he is in a video dated 1/12/2021 where he thinks trump has some responsibility about happened and that trump told him that he has some responsibility. Then he goes on saying there should be a bipartisan committee well you can listen to that part.
Did he not think that someone would be taping this call?

The question being asked now is, should the false electors be punished? You bet. To the fullest extent of the law!! They signed and sent false documents to the Nation Archives as if they were legitimately authorized. Will false Trump electors' attempt to hijack the Wisconsin vote be punished? Melanie Conklin, Wisconsin Examiner January 14, 2022 The 10 Wisconsin Republicans who assembled on Dec. 14, 2020 at noon in the state Capitol and falsely certified that Donald Trump had won the state’s electoral votes were not the nation’s only bogus electors. They made up just one of seven groups falsely claiming Trump was the victor in states where the majority of voters chose Joe Biden for president and Kamala Harris for vice president. *** The six other states — Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, Pennsylvania — joined Wisconsin in submitting documents to Congress certifying falsely that the majority of votes — and therefore the Electoral College votes — went to Trump. Two of the seven states included caveats. In New Mexico the wording was slightly altered to be less brazen stating that the documents were being submitted, “on the understanding that it might later be determined that we are the duly elected and qualified Electors…” Pennsylvania Republicans used similarly contingent language.www.rawstory.com/will-false-trump-electors-attempt-to-hijack-the-wisconsin-vote-be-punished/***. ***. *** @ Also Michigan... www.rawstory.com/donald-trump-2656404662/

Yes Tom Cotton we are the precipice of a constitutional crisis and it’s all thanks to you and other elected Republicans in Congress and in the State Legislatures. Completely glossing over the fact that Chuck Schumer advocated for preserving the filibuster. You are so full of shit, lmao. Chuck Schumer advocated for preserving the filibuster 4 years ago when the landscape was entirely different. He gave that speech 4 years before Trump tried to overturn the results of a free and fair election. Before the insurrection on Jan 6. Before Republicans falsely claimed election fraud and used that as an excuse to pass voter suppression laws in 19 states. Before our democracy was threatened. Before Mitch McConnell played chicken with the debt ceiling. Before 50 Republican senators voted against voting rights. He's allowed to change his mind in light of all of that.

The enemy within!! Defeated appointed Beattie to a committee to support the Holocaust after he, Beattie, was caught at a conference with a famous white supremacist!!! What a sick mind defeated has!! Former Trump aide canned by Biden administration after pushing Jan. 6 ‘false flag’ theoryMatthew Chapman January 14, 2022 Darren Beattie was named by former president Donald Trump to the U.S. Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad in November 2020. In a letter Friday, Gautam Raghavan, deputy director of the White House office of presidential personnel, told Beattie that he must turn in his resignation by the end of business Friday and if he did not, his position would be terminated," reported Mariana Alfaro. "Beattie confirmed the White House’s letter in a Friday afternoon tweet, saying the request for his resignation was 'better than a Pulitzer [Prize].'""On Sunday, the former president issued a statement praising Beattie for pushing his baseless claims about Jan. 6, when the pro-Trump mob invaded the Capitol to stop the affirmation of Joe Biden’s electoral college win, an attack that left five dead and 140 members of law enforcement injured," said the report. "'Because of Darren’s work, and others, Americans aren’t buying into the Unselect Committee’s attempts to smear 75 million (plus!) Americans,' Trump said, in an apparent reference to his 2020 voters. He received about 74 million votes; Biden got about 81 million." The main purpose of the Commission for the Preservation of America's Heritage Abroad is to memorialize victims of the Holocaust. Before Trump appointed him to the commission, Beattie worked as a presidential speechwriter, but was removed from that role after it emerged that he appeared at a conference with Peter Brimelow, the infamous founder of the white supremacist website VDare.com.www.rawstory.com/donald-trump-2656411067/

Speak up, let us hear..... China-bashing GOP senator bought stock in Chinese e-commerce giant -- and may have broken the law: report Alex Henderson, AlterNet January 14, 2022 Sen. Tommy Tuberville of Alabama has been a vehement critic of companies based in Mainland China. But according to CNBC, the Republican senator has been buying stock in the Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba — which is based not in Taiwan or Hong Kong, but in Hangzhou, Zhejiang in the People’s Republic of China.CNBC’s Dan Mangan reports, “Tuberville, as recently as December, made three separate purchases with his wife, Suzanne Tuberville, of Alibaba shares valued at as much as $300,000 in total, according to a financial disclosure report filed Wednesday. In July, the Republican’s spokeswoman told CNBC that in mid-2020, he had ordered his financial advisors to sell off a small stake in Alibaba stock after becoming aware it was in his portfolio.” *** “In July,” according to Mangan, “(Sen. Tuberville’s) spokeswoman told CNBC that in mid-2020, he had ordered his financial advisors to sell off a small stake in Alibaba stock after becoming aware it was in his portfolio. That previous sale of shares, then valued at less than $5000, occurred when the former Auburn University football coach was running for the Senate seat. Tuberville was revealed, in July, as having violated a federal financial transparency law, the STOCK Act, by failing to file disclosures of about 130 stock and stock options trades from January 2021 through May 2021 within a 45-day deadline.”www.rawstory.com/gop-senator-bought-stock-from-a-communist-party-member/

Marc Elias’s law firm is handling most if not all the lawsuits various groups have filed in red states against the obstructionist voting laws.
So what Brannon is saying that if it wasn’t for Elias’s law firm there would be nothing to stop the cheating the Republicans need to win.

Kavanaugh can be put on notice by conservatives but the real problem IMO is Kavanaugh was less then forthcoming on who paid off his mortgage and credit card debt. Which could leave him open to being blackmailed by whoever paid that debt.
And in the written questions before he was confirmed the Democrats did specifically ask the question and he replied with a bunch of word salad.

So sad... But ^^^^^ might give Bannon a bigger role on the air ... DirecTV to drop rabidly pro-Trump One America News Common DreamsJanuary 15, 2022 Facing a wave of grassroots pressure, one of the largest television providers in the U.S. reportedly plans to drop the far-right, rabidly pro-Trump One America News Network, an outlet that has come under fire for disseminating falsehoods about the 2020 election results, the coronavirus pandemic, and other major issues. Bloomberg reported late Friday that DirecTV has informed OANN's owner, Herring Networks Inc., that it intends to "stop carrying the company's two channels when their contract expires" in early April.*** Without DirecTV, OAN would certainly not exist in its current form and possibly not at all," said Carusone. "Now that OAN's anchor distributor has dropped them, Verizon FiOS (OAN's second major distributor) should follow suit. And certainly no other cable provider should pick them up."www.rawstory.com/oann/
