Regrettably, this is just their latest effort.  Rob Portman was talking about this the other night.  Republicans are falsely accusing Democrats of undermining the election with their talk of voter suppression.  The irony is completely lost on them that there's actually only one party trying to undermine our democracy.

I don't understand why Schumer hasn't stripped Manchin of his committee assignment(s?).  Sinema must be on at least one committee, too.  Why not remove them?  If they're going to vote like Republicans, they should be treated like Republicans.

Regrettably, Republicans in NH have really gone off the deep end. The divisive concepts bill was bad enough. Now they're trying to expand it to colleges.

Introduced this month, House Bill 1313 would build on legislation added to the state budget trailer bill in 2021 that barred teachers from teaching that one race, gender, or other protected class was inherently superior or advantaged over another; that members of one protected were inherently oppressive over members of another class, consciously or unconsciously; and that members of one class should be treated differently from members of another class.

The law empowers parents to make complaints about instruction in schools, and teachers could see their credentials revoked if the New Hampshire Commission for Human Rights or a superior court finds them in violation of the law.

Under HB 1313, the Legislature would add higher education institutions to the original bill, sometimes referred to as the “divisive concepts” bill.

They're also trying to make Election Day registration more difficult and require college students who register to vote here to pay in state tuition vs out of state, costing state colleges and universities millions of dollars.

Local GOP official in Connecticut charged with murder

The Republican deputy election administrator in Norwalk, Connecticut was arrested for murder and is being held on $1 million bond.

"A dispute between a landlord and a tenant turned deadly in Connecticut. Police arrested 61-year-old Ellen Wink and charged her in the shooting death of her tenant, 54-year-old Kurt Lametta," CBS New York reports.

The City of Norwalk confirmed to FOX61 that Wink is the local Deputy Republican Registrar on the City Registrar of Voters and Elections Administration.

They have their own anthem

“Live free or die, don’t let the freedom pass you by,” they sang. “Stand up proud and strong, and lead New Hampshire on.”

A public hearing is required for every piece of legislation filed in New Hampshire, and the measure was greeted with polite inquiry by some members of the House’s Committee on State-Federal Relations and Veterans Affairs. Other members warned that voting for such a splintering of the nation would be a violation of their oath to uphold the Constitution.

Committee member Rep. Michael Moffit, a Republican from Loudon, asked backers if this amendment does a disservice to the more than 4,000 New Hampshire residents killed during the Civil War “fighting to preserve our union.”

“Republican lawmakers are so caught up in their disdain for America that they seem to think Granite Staters share their contempt for our country,” Rep. Renny Cushing, the House Democratic leader, wrote in a press release. “This proposal to secede from the United States is the most unpatriotic piece of legislation I have ever seen come through the New Hampshire House.”
