I have neither love nor hate for the drummer boy. But I have been lucky so far that I haven’t had the displeasure of listening to the stupid Christmas shoes song (knock on wood!) That one makes my ears bleed every time it comes on the radio. I hate that one with the heat of a million suns AND with every fiber of my being!

I hate that song w/the light of a supernova. I don’t have twitter, so I can’t read the whole tweet, but I despise that song, so it’s all good. Although I think that sappy song about those stupid shoes is my most hated Christmas song. I hate that Christmas Shoes song too. Just a heads up, I don't have Twitter either but you can still click on the tweet and get the full picture. |

Sometimes, the lyrics just get me. there are a couple of songs that make me choke up, and this is actually one of them - Just how he had nothing to give and that was his gift to the baby.  This is the meaning I take out of the song: we don't have to give something expensive; it is enough to give of ourselves. i get it. We grew up with nothing. But we were lucky and did not have TV and social media to tell us our paper snowflake chain gifts were inadequate.
I tear up when I hear The Little Drummer Boy. Every. Time.

I like some versions of Little Drummer Boy and don't care so much for others. The for King & Country version is my favorite too. To little drummer boy's credit... he did ask first and "Mary nodded"! He didn't walk up to a sleeping baby and start banging a drum.  |
