Lol Love all the journaling highlights of your trip and including yourself in the pics. Looks so fun. Love it! Way to go scissor sisters! 😂❤️ ETA: jeremysgirl is that an ombré type of pp you used for journaling or did you use ink for that effect? Either way, I really like it!

I meant to tag you and say that the backgrounds for those cards was created with distress oxide sprays. You had asked in the PL thread if you needed them. I certainly enjoyed using them.

But being the hippie that I am, I love the tye-dye look of them.

jeremysgirl was there a guide or other resources that helped you get started with project life and focusing more on journaling? My kids hardly let me take photos these days and I think it would be fun to do more project life style albums. For some reason it seems intimidated into. Maybe because it is different than how I typically scrapbook? I’m not sure.

My kids hardly let me take photos these days and I think it would be fun to do more project life style albums. For some reason it seems intimidated into. Maybe because it is different than how I typically scrapbook? I’m not sure. My albums are all caught up. And I found that I was doing more and more one photo layouts with not much journaling. I was also a very simple scrapper too. I wanted a way to keep the one photo things and add more journaling about things. I'm also in transition where it is much, much less about the kids anymore. Haha! It's all about me now. But that is what led me to project life. Come on over to the PL thread. There's a 2022 one. The ladies there will give you all sorts of feedback and encouragement. Their posts are very informative too. Everyone does things a little differently. 2021 was my first year doing it. And I really like the way my album came out.

iamkristinl16 I agree with jeremysgirl - check out the project life mega thread - lots of great information there. sleepingbooty just posted a helpful thread to another potential PL newbie. I like PL because it seems very flexible - with sizes, content, time frames. I like to include little things that happened in my week/life but I would never make a whole 12x12 page of them (my old style). And not saying someone couldn’t - I just wouldn’t want to. And honestly, I need to pair down the volume of scrapbooks I have because where are these things going?? Lol Like this week, my page will have snippets about our weird weather, going to a movie with dh, some random things my dds are up to, some world news, and a road trip dh and I are doing today. Very eclectic. Haha. I also include a fair amount of journaling because I found I really enjoy going back and reading the old journaling I wrote years ago.

Also- iamkristinl16 - do your boys take many pics with their phones? My girls do but I don’t know about boys. Lol Ask them to send you some pics sometime you could include. Pictures they’ve taken would be really fun to include in PL.

Pictures they’ve taken would be really fun to include in PL. No. When I try to take pics (of anything but sports) they put their hands up and say "No pictures!" My sister is only a few years older than my oldest (she is 21) and she takes pics all of the time, but not my boys. My 16yo went to a formal a few weeks ago and did let me take some pics before he left. He said he took a few photos when he was there but wouldn't forward them to me. They don't post much on social media, either.

Ok, looks like I have 5 to share. I have to find one of them that I seem to have missed posting on FB. This one is using the bokeh technique that Vicki Boutin has been sharing this month. I got the pepper idea from a print hanging in one of our favorite Tex-Mex restaurants! I painted the oxides on with a brush and added a touch of white paint for some highlights. I then splattered on the oxides, and used the alcohol ink blower tool to spread them out! So much fun!!! Sorry this pic is blurry, but you get the idea.

MARIBETHR I love your doll art pages. Are they stamps or diecuts? Some are stamps, some are digital stamps, some are digital coloring pages and some are actually die cuts (those are usually the really small ones), and some are actually just images I have embellished. Paper Dolls were my best friends as a child, so I guess I am regressing a bit - LOL. Thank you, I do so enjoy creating them.

Dia de Los muertos by scrappy rabbit, on Flickr I shared this one in the Autumn challenge thread. I love the background paper for these photos, but the final layout didn't turn out like what I had in my head.
