Like most of you who’ve commented, I sobbed hard on this one, and I think the most tears of any episode so far. Beautifully done. Looks like Miguel had three kids. We saw the son, and I think the lady with long dark hair at the funeral by the tree is probably the daughter but I couldn’t see any reference to the third child (who we saw coming home from the hospital in their mother’s arms with boy and girl siblings watching from the the stairs). I was thinking the same, but I re-watched that and I think that was a flash forward AFTER the scene where they brought the baby home (probably the first) so there were only two children. They were on the stairs listening to their parents fight in the second scene. Ah - that makes sense, thanks

cadoodlebug - You are so right ! If this episode was an example, I think the last 3 episodes are going to be extremely hard to watch. Get those extra tissue boxes ready! I’m hoping Rebecca’s passing is not the last episode. I would like the last episode to be after her death and a look forward. Let’s leave us with some good feelings. Oh that would be fantastic! I hope so too!

Thanks. BTW, I've mentioned it before on here, but Billy lived on the same block as my grandparents on LI!!! This was way before he became famous in any way. My grandparents would complain that, "Billy is being LOUD again in his garage with 'that music'". LOL!!!!!!!! Connections are funny! My husband’s great aunt was Billy Joel’s childhood piano teacher. Muriel (Higgenbottom, I believe). Small world! I'll have to ask my sister (she's a piano teacher on LI & she's always adored Billy Joel. I'm sure she'd know the name. Thanks.)

Another great episode this week. There were some places where I teared up. The flash back scenes with Rebecca putting the kids to bed and reading to them, along with the mix of the flash forward scenes where the kids were doing the same for her.
One scene that really got to me was when Kate said something like "Now I know why there are 3 of us" - that was hard for me because there used to be 3 of us but my brother died suddenly and without warning 6 years ago - I always thought the 3 of us would be making decisions together as our parents aged. Dad passed before my brother but mom is in her 80s. It is just sad that my brother won't be there to help and provide his wisdom if my mom needs assisted care.
I can't believe only 2 more shows left. I'm going to miss the Pearsons.

I am so sad this show is ending. My husband watches with me every week and he doesn't say much other than he thinks there are so many talented actors. Well last night even he was tearing up at the real life kitten doll. His mom was a huge cat lover and when she could no longer remember us but did remember her cats the family made sure she had that exact cat in her nursing home room so we both was very emotional about that scene.

It was such a touching episode. The going back and forth between the years was really effective in showing just how fast time goes. One moment you are a mommy to little ones and you can barely keep moving from the exhaustion to old age when the roles are reversed.
It was beautifully done and I can't imagine what the next two weeks are going to bring. I think Mandy Moore deserves an Emmy. She is doing a phenominal job acting the different ages.

This was so good. And so sad. And so well executed. It was the full circle episode which made me cry. It was also the episode where Kevin stood up, Kate spoke up and Randall backed off-something all 3 needed to show growth.
I did love the scene with Beth and Sophie talking about Kevin and Randall-that was so funny!
I can’t imagine that Rebecca’s death gets extended more than 1 episode (I don’t think my heart can take it) which makes me think last will be an episode on the Big 3 and their families post Rebecca.
ETA: I also think this episode really championed co-parenting post divorce. I know this is not always possible, but it really wonderful to see two sets of divorced parents who can put not only the kids first, but still show loving gestures to former spouses.

Ugh. This episode is so, so good.
Kate stepping up, Toby being supportive, to Beth getting on to Randall for not seeing his siblings as the capable adults they are. I just loved everything about this episode.

This episode was so great. My father had dementia so this is really hitting home. He died before he was as far gone as Rebecca. He at least most remembered his children. The last time I saw him, my oldest daughter was with me. He knew me and my brother. He asked who dd was. I said my daughter. He said, you aren't old enough to have a daughter so I have no idea how old he thought I was.
This episode was so beautifully done through the time progression. You think the time with children lasts forever when you are going through it, but it is so fleeting. I look at pictures I have of my young children, and I can't believe that time is gone.
I really hope Rebecca dies next week and we get some closure to the present time so we know what all the kids are up to.

The show has done a fantastic job showing us the progression of Alzheimer's disease and what usually happens but that shouldn't be the the story we are left with. It started out as Rebecca and Jack's marriage and family and I think it should end with the continuation of that family. My mother's disease progressed more quickly and she also knew me and close family. She asked every day where her husband was. They implied in this episode that Rebecca would stop asking about Miguel but that would not have happened other than her being incommunicative. She really should have been asking where Jack was because the patient goes back in time. My mother was obsessed with her parents and her sister and often thought they were still alive and just waiting on her to get back home. She had other behaviors they have not illustrated like wandering which would have made it difficult to keep Rebecca in a private home. Of course most people don't have the means to keep someone at home with round the clock care for years which was the original plan before Kevin and Sophie moved in. However, there are many things here that do hit home

I haven’t caught up to posts about last night’s episode. I am almost done and had to stop and post this!
Hurrah for Kate! Making Kevin and Randall go in with Rebecca and brush her hair and lotion her hands…what an amazing scene and I’m sobbing. I too, don’t know how I’m going to get through the next episodes. 😢😢

Did anyone notice in the preview of next week’s episode that Kate is missing in the LR scene where everyone had gathered? Phillip was there and still wearing his wedding ring. I’m very curious to know where she is.
I too hope the last episode centers on the grandchildren. If I have one complaint of this season is that they skipped over Beth and Randall’s girls (except for Deja and Malik’s relationship).

I am going to miss this show so much. I was sobbing through most of last night's episode.
I really do think they will tie up loose ends with all the family. Remember, this season started with an adult Jack and his wife by a pool, but they haven't shown Jack as an adult again.
One of the things I love about this show is they way they allude to something that leaves you wondering, "What the heck??" for a while, then they resolve it. I can't imagine they will end the series with Rebecca dying. I hope not anyway.

Yes, another good episode. Showing how Rebecca takes care of the kids, then how the kids are taking care of her reminds me of my go-to book for baby showers Love You Forever It's the same premise.

I too loved this episode. I have one nitpicky thing to say. It is a privilege to be able to make these family plans with no regards to finances. I don’t think most of us could #1 - build our mom a house on a compound on a whim #2 - pack up 2 families’ lives and move across country #3 - want to solve it with more hired care. I am happy with the show but when I think about my parents, the conversation would go much differently like “what state home can they go into for free?”

I am happy with the show but when I think about my parents, the conversation would go much differently like “what state home can they go into for free?” I agree, but with a caveat. Kevin is clearly wealthy from his films and tv jobs and residuals. He has made a couple of off-hand remarks about this. He is also now co-owner of an apparently successful home building company. It was also clear in Miguel's show last week that he made good money (think of what we saw of his Houston home). If he invested smartly, he would have left a trust for Rebecca's care after his death in case she outlived him. Kevin can continue to make movies in smaller roles if he is offered them; those usually aren't a huge time commitment. The other adults said they could either work from home or were content taking care of the kids. Sophie is a nurse, and I think she will probably be doing some of the hands on care, as she has known Rebecca most of her life, and loves her very much. The house wasn't really a whim; Jack planned to build it someday, and Kevin just followed through on Jack's dream. The cabin wasn't big enough for their expanding family to all get together, and they owned a large plot of land there anyway, so no cost for the land, just the house. One more thing: if you go through an agency, hired care is VERY expensive. If you do it privately it is less than half the cost. You could get an RN for less than what you'd pay an agency for a CNA. So you can stretch dollars further if you know how to do it.

My mother has Alzheimer’s, and this one hit me HARD. The scene where Rebecca comes into the room with the messed-up makeup was eerily accurate. 😢 I am glad Beth got Randall to see his siblings as capable adults. She is my favorite. I’m going to miss this show but damn the last episodes are going to be tough to get through. We’ve been dealing with Mom’s cognitive decline for a dozen years, and time is a thief.

She will forever remind me of her character and singing in "Tangled". Seeing her, however, will remind me of this show. Hard to believe that she's YOUNGER than her 'children' on the show. She's incredible and the makeup people deserve massive awards. They are detailed in their work.
This week's show was tough for me. Hit too close to home seeing her bed change to a hospital bed, and hearing that she was at the end. Brought back everything for me.

This episode was .. wow. Hits so close to home and the tears fell. Just today I flew to visit my mil in an assisted living facility. Her dh has dementia but he was there, caring for her. He can’t care for her at home. He was so tender and loving and still remembers everyone but it’s all changing fast. Her bed changed to a hospital bed yesterday. She’s declining fast. We brushed her hair and put lotion on her hands! She insisted on putting her own lipstick on too. It was all over, got on her chin. I love her dearly. This is hard! The show is so relatable right now. This episode was so masterfully directed. I loved the scenes with the babies and exhausted mama, and the special times with each one. Then them caring for her. Good for Kate for calling them out on “distancing” from her. Did anyone else choke up seeing Toby and hearing his wise and kind advice to Kate, and their comfortable affection for each other? I miss Katoby 😢 Loved Beth this episode and she usually annoys me. So glad Randall’s ego got a speed bump. And Kevin stepped up.

My husband and I talked about this aspect a lot last night after we watched the beautiful episode. My dad died of dementia and had to be in a full time care facility for the last 5 years of his life because he was a big wandered and we just couldn't keep him safe. I think my mom wished that one of us would have stepped up to care for him at home but that's just not realistic for 99% of the families in the USA. Luckily my parents planned very well for retirement and had enough money for his care. My mom was always terrified that they would run out of money. They didn't but in real life money is a HUGE factor when dealing with family members with dementia. This has been an incredible seasons and I have cried so many times.

I paused the tv to look at the pic. There was one person sitting on the couch next to a kid. I think it is Madison. Everyone else I could figure out-The Big 3, Sophie, Toby, Jack, Jack's sister (I can't remember her name!), Philip, Kevin's Twins, Beth, their 3 girls, Nicky and his wife. I think that was everyone. No Kate.

I had read this had been addressed by the producers so I did find this quote, “We’ve been very purposeful on showing who has already arrived to the house in flashes that we’ve shown so far. So if we haven’t shown someone, that probably means that there’s a story to be told. And we will be telling it over the [final] two episodes.”
And Kate was seen in a flash forward at Jack’s concert. So there is definitely a story. I still suspect if she’s being hidden it’s for for a weight loss reveal. There’s a pic on her Instagram (3/9) where she looks much smaller than she’s been on tv. Since her weight has been addressed as a struggle in her storyline I do wonder if showing her at a healthier weight is the same type of resolution as Kevin growing and falling back in love with Sophie. Anyway, that’s my speculation.
