I clean ours manually about 2-3 times a year - it’s not a very onerous job at all even though I use the oven probably 4-5 times a week (we have a lot of sheet pan meals!)…… Warm it up a bit. Smear the cleaning gel over walls, top, bottom & racks Close the door and leave it 30 minutes. Wipe it out with paper towels.
That’s all there is to it. No scrubbing involved with cleaners these days.

Due to the high heat from the self cleaning feature, I’m kind of afraid to do that after a friend’s wall oven caught the cabinet above on fire. ![](//storage2.proboards.com/5645536/images/GsINcaNPmdcGGylZsiDF.jpg) I have wiped off /scraped off spilled / cooked on stuff from the inside bottom, cleaned the glass with a razor blade and have washed off the racks on occasion but have never done a full inner cleaning of mine. ETA: It pisses me right off every time DH will cook a pizza directly on the rack without putting a piece of parchment paper underneath it, which he frequently does, and then cheese and other goo gets stuck to the racks and burned to the bottom because he NEVER cleans up the mess afterward. Seriously dude. Just throw down something to keep all that from gunking up the oven! It’s really not that hard.

Basically when something spills over and makes a mess.

I'm supposed to clean my oven? LOL!
I have the bottom lined with foil and take it out when something spills. Otherwise, I don't do anything to my oven unless there is a baking disaster involving explosive food LOL. This is one reason I refuse to make bacon in the oven. My sister makes bacon in the oven and has a hard time keeping it clean. I don't want the maintenance, so I'll keep cooking bacon on the griddle.

I clean mine 2-3 times a year. I just did it this month, because the prime rib at Christmas definitely splattered all over. It's stuff like that for me, splatters from high-temp meat cooking. Maybe I'll need it again in the later part of spring, and maybe between Thanksgiving and Christmas?
I use the self clean feature, it works amazing. I have 2 times choices for cleaning as well, so sometimes I choose the 3 hour instead of 5 hour. The heat is good for the house, and the cats love laying next to it. Mine doesn't put off much of an odor, but maybe because the oven isn't horribly messy when I do it.

I do it once a quarter, using “fume-free” easy off. I don’t they know what fume free actually is, because it is very strong smelling. I have had a few appliance repair people tell me to never use the self clean because it can fry the circuit board and then it happened to my mom. So now I clean it the old fashion way. We have an Anova Precision Oven that we use most of the time and that is smaller and much easier to clean. It sits on the counter so it is less back breaking to clean then the big oven. My husband insists on using the big oven for pizza and always gets cheese everywhere, sigh.

I've done it once since moving in. But most of the need/mess was from previous owner. I don't use my oven tons so probably about once or twice a year (if that) is and will be plenty I'm sure.
After I use the self cleaning feature I use brush extension on vac first to get out any and most of ash before wiping it down.
I also like to do in winter or at least cooler days.

I do as needed, I use the oven a lot so at least a couple of times a year. I read recently that running the self clean is not really good for the lifespan of the oven so now I found some of the heavy duty fumey Easy off for spot cleaning.
I really keep up on it because letting it go too long, the build up can get really bad if you don't.
I'm always roasting a chicken or some steaks. Let alone baking.

Probably once a year. We don't have a self cleaning feature and the oven cleaner fumes are probably shortening my life span so once a year is all I can manage.

I don't do it. Our cleaning lady does it once a month though. Hand cleans the inside and gets off any baked on food!

I scrub out spills as they happen. And I scrub it as needed. Probably once a year. After learning my lesson, I now put a pan under things that might drip and no longer cook bacon in the oven as that's harder to clean than if I cook it on the stovetop.
I find the fumes from self clean mode to be way too strong for us and our pets.
ETA we got a new oven a few months ago. It's a really nice Wolf, but no self clean mode, which is fine as I don't like to use that anyway.
