By the way, I read the scientists who have been studying where the coronavirus originated from have pretty much decided it originated in the market in Wuhan from animals.  And they may be right because I also read they have found a version of the coronavirus in some deer someplace in the US.  Now they are trying to decide if it can be passed to humans.

“Attorney John Eastman, the architect of Donald Trump’s legal strategy to overturn the 2020 election, urged a federal judge Friday to slow down the Jan. 6 select committee’s push to obtain documents they say could show the former president criminally conspired to subvert the democratic process.

The committee, in an explosive court filing on Wednesday, said the judge — U.S. District Court Judge David Carter — should reject efforts by Eastman to shield his Trump-related emails by claiming attorney-client privilege. The committee says it has amassed evidence showing that Eastman’s work for Trump amounted to a potential criminal conspiracy to obstruct Congress and defraud the U.S. public.

Eastman said granting the committee’s request would amount to a historic legal finding that Trump — when he was the sitting president — committed a crime. And this, he said, in effect turned him into a “pseudo-defense attorney for the former president.”

“Were this Court to sustain the defendants’ claims, it may be the first formal finding of Presidential criminality by a federal court in United States history,” Eastman wrote.

Eastman said Carter, who sits in a California-based federal courthouse, should slow the process down and force the committee to disclose more of the evidence it has collected, particularly any that would be “exculpatory.” He demanded what he described as “Brady” and “Giglio” evidence, a reference to categories of evidence typically provided to criminal defendants — not those facing congressional investigations.

“In responding to these claims, [Eastman] is effectively forced into the position of acting as a pseudo-defense attorney for the former President,” writes his attorney Charles Burnham. “If the former President had himself been charged with these alleged crimes, it could easily be years before an ultimate decision was reached by a judge or jury. Yet plaintiff is now faced with responding to these claims in time for a decision by this Court on March 8.”

The results of the legal clash are of monumental significance to the select committee’s investigation. The panel is seeking to wind down its probe of the effort by Trump to overturn the election within the next few weeks and begin revealing its findings. Committee members say Eastman was instrumental in Trump’s effort and view his communications as an essential part of their case.”

No wonder Republicans are fixated on voter fraud, it seems they are the ones doing it.

In September, 2020, Donald Trump’s then chief of staff claimed to live in a mobile home in North Carolina.

On a line that asked for his residential address—“where you physically live,” the form instructs—Meadows wrote down the address of a fourteen-by-sixty-two-foot mobile home in Scaly Mountain. He listed his move-in date for this address as the following day, September 20th.

Meadows does not own this property and never has. It is not clear that he has ever spent a single night there. (He did not respond to a request for comment.) The previous owner, who asked that we not use her name, now lives in Florida. “That was just a summer home,” she told me, when I called her up the other day. She seemed surprised to learn that the residence was listed on the Meadowses’ forms. The property sits in the southern Appalachian mountains, at about four thousand feet, in the bend of a quiet road above a creek in Macon County. She and her husband bought it in 1985. “We’d come up there for three to four months when my husband was living,” she said. Her husband died several years ago, and the house sat mostly unused for some time afterward, she said, because she had “nobody to go up there with anymore.”
