Anyone surprised that there are gaps in the phone records? They do know that he called/talked to Tommy Tuberville, Jr, Ivanka, Meadows McCarthy... Jordan Giuliani.. et al.. Likely to make the 18 minutes of Nixon tapes small potatoes .. AND BTW: the 15 boxes found at Mar-A-Lago, that are known about... How many really?!?!? ETA: wait not Jr. Jr called Meadows to get to dear dad!

There is no privilege, so say the SCOTUS! He has freely discussed this in public and with Bannon... No privilege there either!!

They're just going to keep claiming executive privilege to delay, delay, delay and hope to end the investigation after the midterms.

Happy Friday???
In a society like this where there more guns “out there” then there are people in this country things like this will continue to happen and grow in frequency.

Of course it is. The right has no problem using innocent folks in their goal to “own the libs”. So what if they cause hardship to these folks because they must own the libs at all costs.

I don’t think dumpster don is going to like this comment… No, he won't, but too bad. The truth hurts. I'm familiar with the convention of calling former office-holders by their former titles, but I really wish they wouldn't do this in Dumpster Don's case. It's not helpful in this situation, where he's claiming (without justification) that the election was "stolen" (as if there's even a way to do that). ETA: I see that she used "former President." I'd prefer "former, twice impeached, disgraced President," but I'm okay with it.

DeJoy again . Assisted by the GQP.. . We will end up with gas/diesel trucks for 30+ years... Because Republican senators are holding up confirmation of Biden’s Postal Board of Governors’ appointees, DeJoy can’t be fired by the current Trump-appointee-dominated board, a fact that Senator Sheldon Whitehouse pointed out last week, demanding the Senate move the Democratic nominees forward over GOP objections. But DeJoy is itching to sign the contract for all those gas and diesel vehicles, and he still has the power to do so. So, now that the possibility of electrifying the nation’s (now second) largest fleet of vehicles is pretty much dead and they’re planning to go ahead with fossil fuels, Republicans in Congress are fine with eliminating the retirement prefunding dead weight on the Post Office. The vote in the House this week was 342-90 to end the prefunding requirement and give DeJoy the money to buy the gas-powered vehicles. Now it goes to the Senate, where the AP noted: “Sen. Gary Peters, D-Mich., chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, said he expects his chamber to ‘move quickly’ on the measure. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said he's planning a vote before a recess that starts after next week. The bill has 14 GOP sponsors and, with strong Democratic support expected, seems on track to gain the 60 votes most bills need for Senate passage.” When asked Wednesday night on MSNBC why Congress had crippled the Post Office with that bizarre prefunding requirement in the first place, Senator Peters — one of the truly good guys in the US Senate — answered that he had no idea. As is the case with most members of Congress; the pre-funding was essentially slipped into the bill at the behest of the fossil fuel industry and, at the time, got virtually no publicity. Thus, I tweeted him: “Here’s what happened, @sengarypeters Around 2006 the post office rolled out a plan to convert their entire fleet to electric vehicles. They had a $ surplus and could do it. Republicans pushed a bill to cripple them financially. Now DeJoy has chosen a diesel truck vendor… Which is why now Republicans are willing to go along with funding the Post Office, because now the money will continue to flow to the fossil fuel industry for the avg. 30-year lifespan of postal vehicles. Look to the (ahem) petrobillionaires for the hand behind all this.” It was incomplete on my part to miss the privatization bonus in the tweet, and the vendor will supply gasoline vehicles as well, but you get the point. Like so many other weirdnesses in American politics, when you pull back the veil you find the hands of a fossil fuel industry that values profits and right wing ideology over the future of our children, our nation and the planet. www.rawstory.com/here-s-why-republicans-suddenly-love-the-post-office/This article was produced by Economy for All, a project of the Independent Media Institute.

The thing is, Putin doesn’t have the right to demand any country not be admitted to NATO. And let’s be clear about one thing. Putin’s goal is to bring back the USSR and doesn’t care much if a country wants it or not.

Not a fan of Rand Paul, the man needs to go. Having said that the man running against Rand Paul should not stoop to his level of lying to make a point.
Rand Paul gave an interview and said what is in the comments part of the tweet.
His opponent said he said this. He left out a few words that make a big difference in what Rand said/meant.
There is more then enough to critique Rand Paul without going down to his level.
Man I hate it when I have to defend someone like Rand Paul…

Charles Booker was wrong to misquote Paul.
I agree with one of the responders, when were there civil protests against slavery.
There were nonviolent civil rights protests, although many of those protesters were severely beaten, Rep John Lewis as a prime example. There were also deaths of nonviolent protesters!!

GQP freely making threats of violence continues... Rep Massie is at it again, he of disgusting family long gun Christmas card.. I guess his majority is 30--40%. Big dreamer. Thomas Massie says Americans must own enough weapons to overthrow the government if 30-40% agree on ‘tyranny’David Badash, The New Civil Rights Movement February 11, 2022 Massie, known for his assault-weapons brandishing Christmas family photo this week was widely mocked for arguing against Medicare for All, because "Over 70% of Americans who died with COVID, died on Medicare.”www.rawstory.com/thomas-massie-2656635531/

Former, .. but, but I gave him a pardon.... Donald Trump reportedly is upset with Lewis "Scooter" Libby, whom the former president pardoned in 2018, for attending a campaign fundraiser for Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY). *** Liz Cheney, of course, is a Trump nemesis who voted to impeach him for inciting the Capitol insurrection — and now serves as vice chair of the House Select Committee investigating Jan. 6. www.rawstory.com/donald-trump-2656638542/

I don’t hesitate to criticize AOC if I think she is wrong. But I will also point out what I think is a very good move on her part like this. Like it so much I asked one of the most annoying Republican members of Congress to follow what AOC did and list the accomplishments the Republicans in Congress have done this past year.
More members of Congress should do this.

It shows up on my phone though, and for some reason in the quote box, but when I look at it in the thread when you post it is just the d=n bit. Super odd. Thank you for explaining, I thought it was some code I wasn’t cool enough to know!

2-12-2022 Question. Why would anyone think it’s right to make encouraging people to vote by mail against the law?? Seriously. Because the Texas GOP is terrified of Democrats voting, particularly in Harris County, and will do anything to reduce their numbers. Chip away a few here by reducing mail-in voting, a few there by outlawing drive-through voting, and few more by failing to implement online voter registration and then making registration forms scarce. And then for good measure, require counties to go through the voter rolls and de-register any voter who once marked non-citizen on their drivers' license application, without checking to see if they have since become a citizen. New voters in Texas are overwhelmingly Democratic. They are absolutely terrified of that.
