I was checking for the day 4 challenge and wondering why the host hasn't posted yet. Well duh. Everyday from now until mid June has more daylight! Today's theme is Light. It could be literal, like candles, holiday lights, bright sunshine, a beautiful sunset, a beautiful sunrise or the like. It could be more symbolic, like something or someone that brings light to your life. The twist is to use yellow or bright orange somewhere on your layout. If you are on a team, you can earn FIVE points for meeting this challenge, with a TWO POINT BONUS for also meeting the twist on this same project. It was not previously stated in the Quarter One challenges list, or in gramma's spreadsheet, but if you can complete ALL of the 28-4-28 challenges by the end of this quarter, you can earn a BONUS of 280 points!

Linda, it is not as crooked as it looks, I promise! I had photography issues. When the light gets better here I will post my monochrome layout for #3.

Awesome page, jjpeapea! LOVE the pop of the lights against that black background! And although I am officially DONE with Christmas scrapping for another year, I should be able to find something for this theme. And can't wait to scrap with yellow and orange! (Hey, maybe I have some fall pic's yet to scrap...)

2021 4th of July Fireworks These are always tricky to catch, but these came out decent. I didn't use pure yellow, but all my layering and tags are cream. Is that light yellow? image0 (4) by K Mage, on Flickr

kmage I used Press 'n Seal to transfer the Christmas light border. I was glad it worked out OK. I love your 4th of July layout! Yes, fireworks ARE tricky and you've captured them and then framed them with the cutest embellishments and papers. I like the bold star element. Fireworks from a boat - that would be super special. grammadee, what a great photo! So glad you chose birthday candle lights and such a sweet moment for this challenge.

I'm so glad you did this challenge jjpeapea, because I've had this photo on my desk to scrap for a long time but couldn't figure out what "angle" to take... the idea of highlighting the LIGHTS was perfect! Thank you so much, because I'm really happy with the outcome. layout loudly lit by kirstendrew, on Flickr

jjpeapea I love the the die cuts frame your page and your photos - very cute and festive! I have the photo I want to use printed out and ready to go, so I should be able to get your challenge done soon! kmage Fireworks are so tricky - your photos are awesome! I love that you highlighted the middle photo with the white border - it really make it stand out! grammadee I love your interpretation of the challenge using candles. The sprinkle-y bits running off the page reminds of a balloon that's gotten loose! I like the yellow/gray color combo - very cute! kitbop I love the layered star die cuts and how all the elements rest on a large fishtail flag. Lots of colorful bits and I like the inclusion of the star banner. Really fun layout!

Baptism- VD mini album layouts by scrappy rabbit, on Flickr I highlighted the "light" of my niece's baptism for the left side of this spread (for her mini album). I'm loving all the layouts and interpretations in these threads!

jjpeapea , what a great idea to use Press and Seal for transferring your lights. I wish I had remembered that before I tried putting mine together tonight. That's a great page. I have a hard time getting good photos of Christmas lights. Yours look great. kmage , kitbop , scrappyrabbit and grammadee , you have love in the gallery. This is for Day #4 using lights and using yellow. It is also for Day#5, I turned the sketch on the side and did a landscape 8.5xll. For tic tac toe I used button, stripes and banners. Baby's First Christmas
scrappyrabbit, Flickr says the link doesn't work. I'll try back later to see your beautiful pages up close.

scrappyrabbit, I got to it through the gallery so I could comment. When I click on the layout on this page, it takes me to an OOPS page. It is a very special layout. It turned out beautifully.

scrappyrabbit you're really capturing life's big, big occasions with your weddings and baptisms. This page is just lovely, just right background paper and just right elements and focused on the family with lovely touches. nylene So clever to rotate the sketch and use some pretty Christmas lights. Your squares embellishments are so cute with different patterns underneath and the cute images on them. Best of all? That baby smile and those cheekers.

I made a card for this one. Rainbows are all about light, right? And they have yellow and orange. This is my Valentine for my husband. Over the Rainbow

justjac so cute! Water drops bending light into different bands totally counts! I love your Wizard of Oz stamp set. (My daughter was Dorothy for Halloween a few years back, complete with stuffed Toto in a basket.) Mad coloring skills. I like the little hearts floating all over like they floated up out of your heart for your husband. Did you paint your rainbow? Ok one more story - I went along on a school field trip to the National Museum of American History and the ONE thing I wanted to see was the ruby slippers. They weren't on display! The museum was displaying Indiana Jones' fedora instead. The gift shop still had Wizard of Oz items, which is where I got my daughter's Toto. They're back on display, so maybe I can talk my family into a trip to DC.

Thanks jjpeapea. The rainbow paper was from a Simon Says Stamp kit from spring last year or the year before.
