Unfortunately there are a lot of “assholes” out there… people who are very self centered and do not really care to be good humans or good members of society. And then trying to unsuccessfully prove through all the ridiculousness and hypocrisy that they are Patriots just looking out for everyone…. Politicians are not the only problem, there is plenty of blame to spread around. blah, blah, blah!!! it's all going to dismantle very soon!!! Yup…being good humans and good members of society…definitely points that should be give the blah, blah, blah treatment and dismantled very soon. It's a protest, what law is being broken?  And a very peaceful one at that! Not at all like the ones in 2020 where peoples businesses and livelihoods were being destroyed by NOT PROTESTERS, but RIOTERS. There is a HUGE difference. You're definitely out of the loop on that one. It is not peaceful. Demonstrators harassed a soup kitchen demanding free food. They have been harassing ordinary citizens out walking about with a mask on. They have defaced the Terry Fox statue and the Unknown Soldier memorial. And just this week some tried to start a fire in an apartment building and tape the doors shut. I don't give a shit what people say about masks and whether they work or not - it is hurting NOBODY for a person to be out and about in a crowd, trying to get to work, to wear a mask. NO reason at all to harass them and threaten them. So what if mandates will end in a few months - we still have them now. This has gone far beyond the original intent of some truckers out west starting the convoy because of a border restriction imposed by both the Canadian and US administrations. White supremacists are a huge part of this group and if the death threats and hate mail through social media from "convoy supporters" to a local yoga studio owner who dared to publicly state this are any indication of the kind of people involved in this convoy, I want no part of it. And we are not talking one or two - she received hundreds of messages and had to close to keep herself safe. Don't believe me? Check out SelamDebs on Instagram. She's posted it all there. Yep - that says peaceful to me. No one is harassing anyone for wearing a mask...its quite the opposite, the ones NOT wearing a mask are being harassed!! Speaking of crazy- my neighbour told me this morning that our other neighbour unfriended and BLOCKED me on FB. She's very pro-trucker rally, Trudeau should be arrested for war crimes/treason kind of gal. I unfollowed her a few weeks ago because she posts trucker protest stuff all day long. I posted an article from the Ottawa Citizen over the weekend about the elderly and disabled persons not getting their care because the workers can't get into downtown Ottawa. The neighbour unfriended me because she thought it was fake news. THEN she tells the other neighbour that I've been watching her out my kitchen window. WTAF? My window is at the side of our home and she lives across the street and a few homes down. If I'm at the window, I'm doing my dishes, filling the kettle, putting the toaster away etc. In my top 1000 things to do, watching her isn't on the list. The funny thing is that I didn't know she unfriended me because I don't see her posts because I unfollowed her. The delusion is unreal. We've been neighbours for over 20 years but I've never seen this side of her. I interact with many of the neighbours and consider them friends but she is an acquaintance that I say "hi" to if I walk by her house. That's it.
