I now live in a Democratic Congressional district for the first time in a decade. Unfortunately the super liberal who currently represents that district is retiring but it will be exciting to see the new candidates.

ETA: Not that Conor Lamb is super liberal OR “retiring.” I just hadn’t heard of any other open seats.

We were moved into the new 12th which is basically the district currently represented by Mike Doyle (18th) who is retiring. In 2012 we were in the district that included parts of the area Conor Lamb now represents. Jason Altmire was the representative then - I voted against him in 2012 because he was a blue dog and I wanted a real liberal. There has not been a day since then I haven't regretted that decision. We got moved into the 14th and have been represented by worse or even more worse ever since then. Geographically, the 12th makes the most sense. Politically, the areas in my county added to the 12th are red and redder so it's definitely a victory for the Democrats around here.

I do some volunteer advocacy work and have called on the offices of most of the house members from the western half of PA. Doyle’s office has always been so good to work with. Hopefully you’ll get another good one!

Ohio needs to do the same.
Because republicans are being babies and need to cheat to win, they’re refusing and stalling on an Ohio order to redraw the maps—they’re so gerrymandered in favor of republicans.
The one democrats have proposed is actually fair, but fucking republicans need to cheat and tip the scales towards themselves so they’re not showing up and defying court orders.
So much for what the people want and our voting rights.
I fucking HATE republicans.
