As if these refugees don't have enough trauma right now. Hop on them when they're vulnerable to please your god (who created the world to have these types of conflicts in the first place). The organization is called Awakening Europe. According to those on the scene, they're completely unavoidable on the border, taking up space and getting in people's way.
ETA: I find this disgusting: " The harvest is so ripe in Europe! Please keep praying for us! "
Do these people have no awareness at all?? Why no, no they don’t. It actually seems extra pointless and vile given “Ukraine's population is overwhelmingly Christian;” (and yes, I know that often doesn’t *count* with these kind of evangelicals) I feel the same as the refugees.

Definitely, actions speak far louder than words. Too bad they don’t seem to actually take in the Bible words they’re supposed to be living by. I think that’s in there somewhere.

One wonders why Russia is spreading this particular false information? What are they hoping to accomplish?

If Russia can show US soldiers are fighting in Ukraine, in an official capacity, it justifies their actions that all of this is being orchestrated by the US and NATO. Russia is not the aggressor and are liberators.
It’s part of the narrative they have been selling to Russian citizens and those who distrust the West.

Putin is basically throwing things at the wall to see what stick and that he can use to justify his invasion of Ukraine. Like the article from the AP. From the beginning he has claimed he is saving the people of Ukraine from Naziism ignoring the fact that President Zelensky is Jewish.
Then they spread the disinformation that Ukraine and the US has all these biolabs in Ukraine and that is where they are coming up with COVID variants to spread among the masses or some such nonsense.
Then there was the bit about US soldiers were killed in Ukraine.
Now apparently he has gone back to Nazism and added the Holocaust.
What he is doing is forcing Ukraine to make concessions they shouldn’t have to make and at the same time at the end of this invasion Putin wants to be seen as the good guy who was justified in invading Ukraine. And he really doesn’t care what lies he tells as long as he is seen as the winner. Oh and if can get a few digs in at the US, that’s just icing on the cake.
From the AP
“TEL AVIV, Israel (AP) — Vladimir Putin on Friday again painted his enemies in Ukraine as “neo-Nazis,” even though the country has a Jewish president who lost relatives in the Holocaust and who heads a Western-backed, democratically elected government.
The Holocaust, World War II and Nazism have been important tools for Putin in his bid to legitimize Russia’s war in Ukraine, but historians see their use as disinformation and a cynical ploy to further the Russian leader’s aims.”

I mean…if ever there was a time “it’s not about you” was more fitting…. They'll say "It's not about ME!! It's about God!" Not to mention, as others have said, MANY Ukrainians are ALREADY Christian. They don't need these people proselytizing in their faces as they're trying to make their way in fear and pain away from their homeland.

So brave the Ukrainians!!! She commands two teams of a half-dozen or so people each, firing Ukrainian-made, tripod-mounted missiles, which they transport to ambush positions in their personal cars," Kramer reported. In all the destruction, the moments in which Ukrainians can magnificently troll their adversaries has been a delight to watch.
In the comments is a translation of the actual dialog.

The thing about that quote by Edward Norton is, if you didn’t know his politics, it could be a quote from someone on the right justifying Jan. 6. That’s what they think they’re doing in the streets with their attack on the capital and their trucks with flags. 🙁

The men and women in the Ukraine don't have that option since their "change" is coming at the end of a missile or tank, not from a lawful election.

For sure. I think most of us who understand democracy understand that. The quotes I see from the “patriots” about fighting for “their” democracy don’t show that same level of awareness.
(I forgot to mention above how much I love Edward Norton!)

Fierce, brutal, merciless. Lose cannons with big guns.... Chechens fighting in Ukraine: Putin’s psychological weapon could backfireThe Conversation March 18, 2022 The Chechens have gained a reputation as fierce warriors in two wars against Russia, the first from 1994 to 1996 and the second from 1999 to 2014. It was the most violent conflict between Europe and the former U.S.S.R. since the Second World War. Chechen warriors are now fighting in Ukraine on both sides of the front line. *** Those who fled to Ukraine after the wars that ravaged their country are supporting Ukraine’s armed forces, even though their involvement has gone almost unnoticed. However, the announcement — made with great fanfare on Feb. 25 — that Ramzan Kadyrov’s troops would be sent to Ukraine to fight alongside the Russian army did cause a stir among western media. *** The announcement of the entry of Kadyrov’s troops into the war and the propaganda surrounding it are part of Russia’s effort to destabilize the enemy. The Kadyrovtsy are above all specialists in policing conquered cities. They are known for the cruelty and abuse they administered in Chechnya itself, in the Donbass in 2014 where they intervened, and in Syria where some of their soldiers are still deployed. *** ..........The presence of Chechen troops shows that Moscow is preparing for urban guerrilla warfare in Ukraine. Kadyrov’s troops could be an asset for this, not just to overcome local Ukrainian resistance but also to discipline Russian troops and their affiliates. *** www.rawstory.com/chechens-fighting-in-ukraine-putins-psychological-weapon-could-backfire/

Snipers killing civilians standing in line for food. What kind of a human being does this kind of stuff?

”Hill's sister posted on Facebook that he was in a bread line when he was gunned down by Russian snipers.”

On top of it Hill was in Ukraine to take care of his partner who was hospitalized with MS. Now she is alone. He had tried to get a Visa for her to come here. I don't when though.

This is not a country you can negotiate with.
This is a lose lose proposition. They’ve violated every ceasefire and humanitarian corridor so far, and they have a long history of doing so. 😓

MSNBC Erin Burnett
Ukraine has stated that thousands of Mariupol citizens were taken to Russia against their will..
*** Russia says 60k showed up in Russia by choice.. *** Inna, Ukrainian Parliament speaking that the taken Russians have to sign papers that they will not leave. They are probably being moved far away never to been seen by any Ukranians ever again.

Medvedev has started saber-rattling about Poland.
Putin does not plan to stop with Ukraine. Ukraine is just the starting point. I'm not sure how he thinks his military will be able to fight against NATO forces when Ukrainian forces are already giving him trouble, but it does not sound like they are particularly sane in Russia right now.
One thing that I can see happening is (eventually) massive unrest in Russia as goods become scarcer. You could end up seeing the Russian government fall apart - but not without some massive repression first as they try to stay in power.

"David Beckham has handed over control of his Instagram account to a doctor in Ukraine, in a bid to highlight the "amazing work" of medical professionals caring for patients amid the Russian invasion of the country. Throughout Sunday, the former England football captain, who has been a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since 2005, enabled Dr. Iryna -- head of a perinatal center in Kharkiv -- to show his 71.6 million followers the conditions under which she and her colleagues are working. I was going to ask if you caught Medvedev’s Poland ramblings this morning. 🤔 I agree they’re not behaving particularly rationally in the Kremlin and it could be just another attempt to bait NATO, but I also know that they’ve done everything they said they would (rational or not) so far, so this is a bit of a worry if not right now, then in the future.

Now these are fighting words. Fort Ross is in my neck of the woods along the coast.
From the article..
“Russian lawmaker suggests taking back North Bay's Fort Ross as payback for US sanctions”
The Russians stayed for 30 years, selling the fort to gold rush tycoon John Sutter. Now some Russian lawmakers want it back.
“SONOMA COUNTY, Calif. (KGO) -- Russia's ongoing war in Ukraine is highlighting a part of the Bay Area once settled and occupied by Russian colonists in the 1880s.
Fort Ross on the Sonoma Coast is now a California State Park but tensions over U.S. sanctions are prompting some Russian lawmakers to reclaim the fort.“
What an idiot.

I’ve been looking for a map like in this Tweet, to visualize the problem with a No Fly Zone or any type of more direct involvement. In order to stop the shelling in Ukraine, not only would forces need to take out artillery positions inside of Ukraine, but have to do something about all of this too. The Crimean positions, a case could be made… but Belarus and Russian positions… major escalation and would require a ton of planning and coordination.
