This is beyond disgusting. Putin using the words of our former secretary of state to bolster his justification for war in Ukraine. What the hell have we become, and why is every single American not f*ing outraged by this???

Okay. That is just so fucked up I don't even know what to think. She's either a sociopath or an idiot. Or both. Does she have any idea who Putin is or what he's done? He orchestrated the bombings of Russian civilians so they could blame it on the Chechens and ensure Boris Yeltsin's reelection. He's a monster. These people are just out of their freaking minds.

Putin is about as Christian as Trump, maybe even less. How the conservatives ignore Biden’s genuine faith and spiritualism while praising others who clearly lack any is beyond comprehension.

I actually saw a post on one of my fb groups about this very thing: "This is what happens when Christianity leaves the White House." WTAF??? Trump was seen as Christian, and Biden is not?

Always putting yourself first and not caring about others. Cheating, lying.

For some reason some people do not consider Catholics Christians. And yet oddly enough, they consider Russian Orthodox to be Christian? Tell me you've never attended an Orthodox church without telling me you've never attended an Orthodox church.

Honestly, I think they'd welcome the return of a Cold War situation because it's in keeping with the time period in American history they romanticize.

Some of the ignorance by these people is just absolutely stunning. It's just horrifying. This is one of those days that I'm truly worried our "information" age where anyone can say anything and reach millions of people will be our downfall. Just so disgusting!

I don't understand what Republicans think Biden should do? They say he is being weak because he is "just" doing sanctions, and then they say, Biden is putting us in a war when he's only been in office a 1 yr. like...which one is it?

I don’t know if it is now, but it definitely was illegal under the USSR which is what he wants to return to. Edit: wow I guess I haven’t kept up and he’s wanting a return to the days of the USSR in more ways than one. 😵💫 “On July 8, 2016 the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) strongly condemned these measures stating, "Under the guise of confronting terrorism, they would grant authorities sweeping powers to curtail civil liberties, including setting broad restrictions on religious practices that would make it very difficult for religious groups to operate."[14][15] An article in The Christian Post, discussing the ban on proselytizing stated, "Human rights and religious freedom advocates argue that the law 'doesn't do that much to defend from terrorism and only prevents Christians and others who are not Orthodox from preaching and proselytizing.'"[16] In 2017, the USCIRF reclassified Russia as one of the world's worst violators of religious liberty, recommending that the US government deem Russia a "country of particular concern" under the International Religious Freedom Act.[17] Since 2016, Russian Christians face increased restrictions on public and private evangelism as a result of the Yarovaya law.” from Wiki.

Just heard Pence say we need stronger sanctions. Need to cut off all money he is getting from Energy and gas snd we should reopen the keystone pipeline. This would be a show of American strength. This is what I got from him. I assume that we aren’t the only country that buys energy/gas from him so this isn’t all on us.

As far as I know European nations are mostly calling the shots on the progression of sanctions, which is as I think it should be.

We don’t need the Keystone pipeline, and it wouldn’t do anything for years anyway. We have plenty of oil wells that are not in production right now and haven’t been operating for a while because foreign producers flooded the market during COVID (Russia included). They can reopen profitably now if we cut off imports from Russia.

I’ve made this point on another thread. With the exception of a few, the silence of republican peas speaks volumes. And by using the word “few”, I think I’m being generous. I’ve only seen one republican pea (that I know for sure is republican) post anything in support of Ukraine.

I have seen quite a few of my conservative Christian friends posting their support for Ukraine on FB today. I wonder if they realize that this puts them at odds with the Orange Nightmare. But if it holds and grows more widespread, it may be an interesting turn of the tide. I don’t mean to make light of a serious topic, but this made me laugh as I read it. Legacy Girl calling Trump the Orange Nightmare is like when I post using the f word. We use our rough words sparingly. It’s like hearing your middle name. You know the person has. had. it. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her come close to using this language and I am here for it! 😆

Wasn't the Keystone from canada? with canadian oil being shipped out. not for American use?

I think there was some debate about how much was for US use, but regardless, a ton of NATO allies rely on Russian oil, so we couldn't make real sanctions against Russian oil without an alternative.
