If you have a PC and have updated to the latest version of Windows(11), have you had any conflict with the Silhouette software?

I did. But I followed these and it works fine now. I want to say I updated the firmware of the machine and the Sil software, but I can't recall which step worked. I'm using a new (since Nov 2021) Portrait 3 that worked fine on Win10. I didn't actually update to Win11 from Win10. I bought a new PC with Win11 pre-installed. Not sure if that will make a difference. In my experience upgrades vs clean installs sometimes have issues. HTH |

I have the Cameo 3, which I love. My computer keeps trying to update to Windows 11, and I don’t want to lose my ability to use my Cameo.
My Cameo 1 became a paper weight due to a Windows update. Silhouette eventually came out with a fix for it, but by then I had bought my Cameo 3. I don’t want to update if it will result in problems, but at some point, I may not have a choice.
Has anyone with a Cameo 3 had any issue with the Windows 11 update?

I am running Win11 on a HP laptop with no issues. Cut two cards last week. Which reminds me I need to mail those out. I am using Sil Studio 4.3, Designer. HTH.

Hi scrapnnana -- This topic came up on a FB Silhouette group in which I participate .... I'm going to cut and paste some of the relevant comments: The Silhouette program worked fine for me in Windows 11. I just didnt like the way folders are handled in Windows 11 and decided to go back to Windows 10 until I find a work around. Im just so used to being able to peek at whats in a folder without opening it up, I wasnt happy at all with the closed folder look in Windows 11. I didnt have a problem running Silhouette Design though, and I guess thats all you wanted to know. Same here! I also don't like that it wouldn't save edited photos in the photo file. It wants to put them in a separate file. Seriously considering going back to Windows 10. I haven't had any issues with Windows 11 and Silhouette Studio/Cameo 4. I use an HP Omen and everything functions flawlessly. I have had it for a month with no problem. I did have to close it down after it was installed and then start it again. Did hear some rumblings about it.. check silhouette school on fb they due tutorials etc and tips and tricks.. pretty sure they talked about this not long ago Me again -- all of the other comments are in the "no problems" category ... |
