JFC a pea can’t even ask for a recommendation anymore without the thread being made fucking political. I have tried staying away from political threads so I can enjoy my time here better but now even very obvious non political threads that I thought would be safe aren’t even more. Christ, if I go open the Wordle thread is that still safe?
OP- we always enjoy going to Clearwater during our annual trip to FL but I can’t help on the lodging aspect. We usually stay at Soltera resort which is closer to Orlando. However, the drive to Clearwater isn’t that bad.

People make statements like #3 on just about every Disney thread (World and Land) where people ask for advice. And while I don’t agree with/like them because I personally love both Disneys, I don’t assume that the posts are political. |

OP, I hope you find a good place to stay. Even on a scrapbook thread, people had to get political on a post about finding dies for a good price. I think people just have to give their opinion on things no matter what. It's a message board, but I do feel for your thread going sideways. We were in Florida last May, but we were in the Keys, so I'm not sure my opinion would be helpful at all.
I will say that if you do go with a VRBO, maybe call the owner/company (if there is one). They usually have better rates than the VRBO site. The place we stayed was under different places online and just calling saved us the extra 10% or more.

I don’t think it was a carefully worded statement you meant what you meant and because you are transparent anyone that has been on this board often knows what you meant. But let’s be honest the sentiment behind your post about never going to Florida was because of political reasons. That is your right and I am not arguing over your stance. I simply feel that we don’t need to bring political opinions into everything here and this was the thread I chose to bring it up because she was just asking for a recommendation for lodging.
