You have always been a part of the heist. You're only mad now because you don't like your cut.

I use this Fiskars It has served me well for years. I had the blue one before it and I definitely prefer this one.

I use this Fiskars It has served me well for years. I had the blue one before it and I definitely prefer this one. Agree it’s a really nice one. I have too many trimmers and mostly use a big guy - a Carl - but it’s not something you can stash away when not in use. (It cuts multiple pieces of cardstock at a time.) My other trimmers are upright in plastic magazine holders from The Container Store. I have the Fiskars plus a much smaller Fiskars and both cut really well. A Tim Holtz guillotine isn’t my preference - though some people love it. And one other that has some great features but is a miss for card makers because the base folds right at a measurement cardmakers use a lot. Their target was scrappers so that was disappointing. I’m blanking on the name but will post it. ETA It's Creative Memories. But there's a big gap where 5.5" would be. I also don't like that you have to press down so the blade will have contact with the paper. But a neat feature that does make me use it sometimes is two very small, clear plastic movable "arrows" that let you see exactly where the cut line will be. That's been handy when wanting to include or avoid something on the paper or when I'm cutting lines I've drawn on paper that's no longer squared up. It also has a variety of blades that store in the back.

So sorry for the delay in getting back to this thread, I haven't been online over the last few days. Meanwhile, I've ordered this, that, and the other thing. Some items have arrived already, some will be here next week. I'm trying not to spend too much In the meantime, I have a question about paper trimmers. I have my old blue Fiskars 12" paper trimmer from 15+ years ago. What used to drive me slightly nuts back when I scrapbooked was that it didn't trim perfectly square due to the plastic part that holds the trimmer blade gives a little when using it. Do any of you have another (small, lightweight) paper trimmer that you love? My crafting space is also my home office, den, and occassionally guest room, so I need something that isn't too large, and is easy to put away and take back out. I've been to Ben Franklin and Michaels this week and looked at them, but really had no idea which might work better than what I already have. Thoughts? And thank you....again. You all are super helpful and I really appreciate it! While I can't recommend the trimmer I use as it's neither small or lightweight, the 12-inch CM trimmer is getting rave reviews from my BFF. I would eventually like to get one for "to go" crafting. (non-affiliate links!)

I have far too many trimmers. Tonic makes my favorite trimmers, but they are pricey. In my craft room, I use the big Tonic guillotine trimmer. The Fiskars linked by scrappyesq is a good one, too, although when I went to crops, I would use the regular Fiskars that most people hate and still get good results. The key to getting a decent cut, even with a less favored paper trimmer is to avoid the wiggle that you can get. If you do it slow and steady, you are less likely to get a slight wiggle that can ruin your cut.

Thank you so much for chiming in. I'm going to go with the Fiskars one upthread an hope it cuts more straight than my old fiskars one! And Ryann, you've got champagne taste in paper trimmers for sure!

I ended up getting the Tonic Tim Holtz stamping platform. One reason was the Misti person who came here to 2peas and was not nice. Second, it was cheaper. I got mine on Amazon with Prime shipping 2 day.

I also read about the My Sweet Petunia/MISTI owner acting like a monster.....more than a few times and well beyond "protecting her patent" (I don't begrudge her protecting her patent). Craft Stash has a US site (https://www.craftstash.us/) and a UK site on EBAY. The UK site on EBAY is where you can now buy the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform----I just bought one from them, I'm in Georgia, USA. Here's their ebay store link: www.ebay.co.uk/str/craftstashuk Here's the ITEM link for the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform (larger size): www.ebay.co.uk/itm/266417863914
