Did you change your profile pic? Too cute! Now that things have settled a bit, I have a question for peas. If you (general you) lose your temper (for whatever reason), get caught up in things, etc and post unkind and/or made up things to another pea, do you apologize? Over the last few weeks (as an example) I've watched several peas go from zero to one hundred in the blink of an eye. And they are definitely in the wrong. And also, yes, I realize that many of us are under a LOT of stressors these days. If you've been unkind to another pea (and can actually admit to yourself that you were) do you apologize (either publically or privately, or do you just move along as if nothing has happened, back to normal? The latter is what I see time and again, and I'll admit to wanting to see the pea in question apologize before moving on BUT, not my circus, not my monkeys...KWIM? In the interest of being translucent, the one time a (stranger to me) pea went bonkers about me (months and months back) I was grateful that other peas put her in her place because she was simply making things up. Unfortunately, she never said a word in apology. I guess it's those darned rose-colored glasses, but I BELIEVE (it is my belief, doesn't have to be yours so please don't skewer me for it) this place would be a much nicer place and the relationships here more healthy if people would apologize (sincerely) when they're in the wrong. I'm not talking about fundamental belief systems, but when a pea treats another pea wrongly. And yes, the mama bear in me is out today too while wearing those rose-colored glasses. Can't we all just get along(ish) <---- said tongue firmly planted in cheek Yes, if I thought I was in the wrong with something that deserved a sincere apology to another pea, I would apologize, openly. Absolutely. I too would post openly and feel horrible until the pea I offended at least acknowledged my apology, even if they didn’t accept it. I would still feel badly if they didn’t accept my apology, but that I could get over. If they didn’t even acknowledge that they saw it I would be worrying about it. I still feel awful for a comment I made to a kid in 8th grade because I never got to apologize to them. |

I was home, in bed and on pain meds, and I was reading through a thread, don't even remember which one it was. I said an off the cuff remark to another pea and she rightly so called me on it. I re-read my post and knew it was uncalled for and apologized to her. All was good, I hope, after that. I pretty much stay away from posting too much as I don't want to get in a tangle with anyone. I like those nice fluffy posts. I do read a lot of the political posts and such but don't feel like my opinion is going to change anyone's mind or add anything. |

@ktc sassyangelI wonder if this misunderstanding might result from a difference in American English vs. British English? When speaking in general terms, Americans rarely use "one." We say "you." My British friend would say, "One could assume..." I would likely say, "You could assume ..." Perhaps, @ktc, if one were to re-read the lines in question inserting "one" in place of "you," one might find a different meaning. Or not. Maybe I'm completely wrong. But I thought I'd try. |

Twelve states - 12! - most of which I’ve never visited, actually - and the exact same diversity of rural/towns/cities/culture/education as the other areas of the country, but it was only here that I learned all 65 million of us live the exact same way and have a hive mind and an aw-shucks secret handshake. Huh. Even the reductive “But I will say the people ARE very friendly” sets my teeth on edge and just makes me want to prove otherwise. Oh yeah, this is a thread about being nice… LOL. |

The Midwest weather can be bashed, though. It does suck. Hey now...no swipes at Pennsylvania! I grew up in Pittsburgh and it's a very nice city.  Go Steelers! Haha! I've heard Pittsburgh is fun. I lived in the Philly burbs. It was hard to get used to, but I miss certain things now. In particular, the beautiful countryside that's not being built up like crazy and the way a phone call takes 2 seconds to get to the heart of the issue instead of 2-5 minutes. I love the people of the south but for the love of God GET TO THE POINT |

Oh yeah, this is a thread about being nice… LOL. but I have to say - I could NOT believe how friendly the freeway drivers were in Wisconsin and Minnesota! No one driving 100mph down the right lane or racing up behind you and tailgating you in the left lane. It was the most relaxing drive ever. The current road rage on the streets is so out of control here in the Bay Area (not to mention the traffic) is completely disconcerting. I don’t *think* I’ve ever bashed the Midwest - I loved what I visited and desperately want to see more. Plus you guys have cheese curds!!! I do agree about the weather though lol.. |

We love having 4 seasons, but we don't love the 4 seasons. Fellow midwesterner, who has lived in the midwest my entire life (Missouri, Illinois, Nebraska and Iowa) and yeah, I love having four seasons. I just wish at times they didn't all happen in the same week. Like last week. When it was sunny and in the 60s one day, and 24 hours later it was 18 and we were getting an ice storm. |

But honestly- just because green olives are green does NOT mean they go with green jello!! blech!  (I mean, c'mon-- the only things that go with green jello are either shredded carrot-- if you're my mom-- or pineapple tidbits.) |

I moved to coastal NC in 1980, then took off to see the world and never looked back. Omaha is one of the few places I have lived (and I’ve lived many different states/countries) that actually feels like home. |

You’ve been gone a long time - Los Angelean is rarely (never) used -we are Angelenos. 😁We’re great drivers because we only go two speeds - 85 and 5 and it’s still quite bearable here - in fact it’s great. 🤣 And….we don’t do jello salad. |

That green jello with the olives in it is truly disgusting. I don't mind jello, although I never make it. But if I'm going to put anything in it it will be fruit....canned peaches or pears, maybe fresh grapes. |
