I’m getting back in scrapbooking after a long (years and years) hiatus. What adhesives are you all using? I feel out of the loop. I’m specifically looking for recommendations for:
1. Something for clear/transparent/sheer items 2. A tape or glue runner. I prefer tape as that’s what I used to use but could be persuaded to try glue 3. Glue for tiny items/detail work
Bonus points if I can get any of these on Amazon or - Michaels or Hobby Lobby since I will be near both this weekend.
Thank you!!!

I use an ATG tape runner for “dry” and Art Institute Glitter glue for “wet”.
I also sometimes use Scotch quick dry tacky glue (transferred into a fine line bottle for precise application) as an alternative “wet”.
For dimensional I like Scrapbook.com’s large roll of foam tape.

AtG for sure for most use, I love the low cost of tape and the environmental impact is low compared to most other glue guns.
I have a vellum tape runner I got at my local craft store that works well.
For liquid I like the Art Institute glue posted right above this post. It dries fairly fast and doesn't spread as much as others I have used.

I use photo squares for most things. Clear half-size photo squares or xyron X for clear stuff. Tacky glue for anything the others don't work for.

ATG is my favorite tape runner and I like the Zig glue pen for small items.

My favorite for most things is Kokoyu dot runner. The sound it makes is my favorite. 😆 I use ATG for heavier embellishments that I think might need extra stick. I don’t like using the ATG (big, awkward, uncomfortable to work with imo). I only use it because I have it. I won’t be in a hurry to buy more refills once my stash is gone.
I use skinny red line adhesive (scrapbooker dot com version) for skinny embellishments.

I thought the Kokuyo dot runner was maybe just hype, but durn, the thing works great! It even works on tiny things like enamel dots that don't want to stick right with their own adhesive backing. Just a little zoop and they stay in place. I'm sold!

My faves have all been listed:
1. ATG tape runner - cheapest 2. Koyoku dotliner - good, but pricier 3. Art Institute Glue - LOVE THIS STUFF but I think the Bearly Arts is probably comparable if you can get it cheaper. I also think the Gina K glue would be excellent, and it can be shipped in freezing temperatures, but it is much more expensive.
Clear items? I still go to Ranger glossy accents and just coat the whole surface with a thin layer.

I have no good suggestions for the sheer items. I have never found anything that worked well. I like my ATG tape runner for most adhesive needs and Nuvo Deluxe liquid adhesive for all the little things. I discovered Nuvo after watching a lot of steakgoddess videos.

I use Scotch double-sided tape. I guess some people frown on it but I've used it for 15 years and everything still is holding and looks good.
I don't think anything works on clear stuff- all of the stuff that was supposed to work has yellowed over time. I just find a way to hide it under something else, or use my tiny attacher (stapler) or a brad.
I use foam squares a lot- I like my stuff to pop out.

I mostly use: * Scrapbook Adhesives E-Z Runner tape runner * Xyron X for smaller things, especially things with fiddly edges, like a script title * sometimes use liquid glue for the above instead - either Zig or Tombow multi
Once in a while I use glue dots (Herma/Craft Bond) but those have not worked well for me over the long haul - they lose their grip, so I've mostly stopped using them. Same for photo squares.

I use Tape Jungle refills in my ATG gun. I've been using these for at least 10 years, no issues.
Wet glue-I use the Art Institute Glitter glue (there is no glitter in it, it's just glue). I like this better than the Scotch Quick Dry that I used previously, it gives me time to get glue on the whole item (ie a title I've die cut) without it being dry on the end I started on. I also use this on vellum, but try to hide it under a part that I've embossed, stamped, etc.

ATG with Tape Jungle refills Bearly Arts liquid glue stapler to attach clear thing things and clear thicker things I use a thin layer of glossy accents. I did get a vellum tape runner by tombow but you can still see it through the vellum.

Because of this thread, I realized I am down to 7 rolls of ATG from the tape jungle, so I went to place an order. Unfortunately, they no longer do half cases: it's 24 rolls or a case of 144 rolls. 72 rolls lasted me 2 years just about perfectly.
I've posted on the "for sale" board, hoping another Canadian pea will split an order with me. I don't want to spend $300 on tape even if it does last 4 years!

I use Bearly Art glue because I was given it by a friend and it's great. The fine tip bottle isn't hard on my hands like the little fine tip bottles I put my old glue into. I really love the pink Tombow dot adhesive tape runner, which I believe is very similar to the Kokuyo one based on how Shimelle describes it, but it's easy for me to find and I can get refills easily. It's relatively expensive but I like being able to change my mind a lot and I don't get squidges that get dirty and sticky. (I hate Tombow 2 way glue because it stays tacky forever when it squidges out from a die cut).
No idea about the clear/sheer things. To my knowledge nothing works.

1. I do not have an answer for clear items. I've used brads in the past because vellum tape eventually yellows.
2. I use different lengths of double sided tape. I have quite a few of the 1/4" ATG tape and this brand comes in different lengths. It is MUCH stronger than the ATG brand. Lay it down and there's no wiggle room. No idea if it is acid free. 3. I do not own any glue for tiny items. For tiny metal dies, I put double sided tape on one side of the paper and the die face down on the paper without the adhesive. I cut 1/4" double sided tape in little pieces and adhere to small things. Not the best solution. I'll read the comments for this one.

I use Scotch double-sided tape. I used that for many years until I got my ATG gun. I would buy packs of them at Sam's Club.
I use Bearly Art glue because I was given it by a friend and it's great. The fine tip bottle isn't hard on my hands like the little fine tip bottles I put my old glue into. That's good to know, I have some issues with both hands and fine tipped glues have intimidated me.

I use it sparingly and try to use it in areas where I plan to cover the clear item. 2. Still using Herma tabs runner. Amazon carries it. I also have TC mega runner by Xyron. 3. Tombo Mono and Glossy Accents.

I've been using my atg for about 10 years now and I still love it. The wet glue I've been using is Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and it works really well.

I use herma dotto removeable for most items. My friend prefers Tombow. I use lots of foam tape to mount things and some double sides tape I get at Dollar Tree. I use Glue Dots pretty often.

1) I love and hoard the Herma Dotto REPOSITIONAL Dots. I like to move my things around before making permanent decisions.
2) Art Glitter Glue is another staple.
3) For my junk journals and mini albums, I use Fabri Tac, Aleens Quick Dry and UHU glue sticks. 4) For transparent items, I use my Tim Holtz stapler or my Art Glitter Glue (it dries clear)

I use the ATG & Bearly Arts glue the most, with Scotch foam tape for raised items/layers, and my little Xyron X every great once in a while. Has anyone tested to see if Xyron-X-adhered items have lasted well for years, though? I know for a fact that my ATG-adhered items/cards/layouts haven't budged for over 10 years, so I feel confident about that one, but I do wonder about the Xyron.
