I know which one I support. I'm very relieved that a major hitter like Disney has the guts to strike back at our wanker governor. I may even put a Disney sticker on my car. I know this will cue those who miss no opportunity to say how awful Florida is. We are not a homophobic state and it's pretty nice here, but if not for the detractors, our state would sink into the sea under the weight of everyone who wants to live here. Governor slams "woke" Disney

They are not really, though. The Disney corporation has given $$$ to the state legislators who voted for this, and, at least as of a few days ago (unless they changed this since the last article I read), they plan to continue to do so.

Exactly Disney is on the side of profits (i.e., buying the laws to keep their taxes and regs down).
They couldn't give two F#($*s about LGBTQ people. Except when they're trying to use them as ads for pride month.

And of course TONS of LGBTQ people work for Disney, and are customers of Disney.
The whole thing is so disheartening.

Governor slams "woke" DisneyWell since your quasi-passive/aggressive comments invited me in… I’d like to clear up a few things— 1. I didn’t say Florida (the funny, tropical state) was awful or all it’s people (generally speaking) were homophobic — 2. I didn’t bash all people (again in general) living there, 3. I clearly stated that (economically) Florida wouldn’t see a dime of our disposable income. 4. Florida government is actively and aggressively creating (and passing) legislation that is literally trying to wipe people I love off the planet. So I do what I can to support my loved ones. 5. I spoke from solely my family perspective, I wasn’t sweeping with a broad brush. So, please watch your words and not attribute things that weren’t specifically said to peas who didn’t say them. If people want to flock to Florida and live, support the policies there, that’s on them, we just cannot do it. I’m not ashamed of saying so either.

Chapek isn't Disney though he's now at the helm. A ton of Disney family & fans despise that changes he's brought to Disney and the attitude he has towards anything that isn't purely for profit.
He doesn't embody the spirit of Disney at all.
That said, several large corporations have also contributed to the politicians. I saw a big list somewhere. The same companies who will post nice things during Pride Month, meanwhile they're lining the pockets of politicians to gain a seat at the table.

To update, an hour ago, Disney announced that it was “pausing” its Florida political donations.

I unfortunately I might go to Florida. That is where my grandsons live and their mom too ..
Last knew, my DIL worked for Disney. Disney helped feed my DGSs and gave them years of entertainment.
DIL she was thinking of another job .. I hope.

"pausing" Yeah, until everyone moves on to the next attack on good people by religious righties. Then Disney will "unpause" again. Capital has no country and no loyalty to other than more capital. "A Republican lawmaker who didn’t want to be named because he or she did not want to comment publicly against the governor told the same outlet Disney was the third-highest contributor to state Republican candidates. Disney has given millions to both Democrats and Republicans. Disney opened a theme park in China six years ago and has landed access to that country’s booming film market. It has also been accused of altering content to satisfy China’s leaders." www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/mar/12/dont-say-gay-disney-desantis-florida-bill

I think that Disney would be smart to stop it’s donations to people like DeSantis, because he is on the wrong side of history. Can you imagine that little Banty rooster as President? He is a good reminder that a President knowledgeable about business is not enough. The next President must have a thorough understanding of the world, esp. China and Russia.

Would be nice if Publix Supermarkets in FL stopped all of their support and donations to DeSatan too! I don't have faith in Disney stopping their donations, at ALL. I've never visited Disney since I moved down here and never will. No thanks. They don't pay their workers nearly enough, meanwhile they're raking in billions of $$.
