Who is expecting to be impacted by this storm? Right now here in Northern Virginia is raining hard and WINDY. omg. I hate wind because you know at some point trees will come down, taking the electricity with it. We have a lot of old oaks in my area and apparently oak trees have shallower roots than some other big trees.... A fun fact that we re-learn over the years every time we have a lot of rain combined with wind. The ground gets saturated, the wind hits the trees, and boom. This is supposed to turn to snow in a few hours. We'll see about that because we're on one of those lines where it could just stay as rain. What's in like in your area? What are you expecting?

It started raining here last night about midnight but now is snow…and coming down at a good clip. They have lowered our expected to 5-8 inches for my immediate area. Lake Champlain usually helps us get a little less than east of us. The rest of VT is predicted 8 - 18 inches. The wind is suppose to pick up, which may be the bigger issue.

Rain, snow and high winds are expected. Thankfully we just had a full house generator installed because we used to lose power for long amounts of time.

This is going to be a mess. We were calling for 1-3 inches of snow. When I woke to pounding rain, I thought we would be getting rain instead of snow. But no, it’s supposed to switch over to snow at 11 am.
My small group was planning on going to Cracker Barrel today. Those ladies lost their ever loving minds talking about it so I hope they’re not to disappointed to reschedule. 😂

Here in western New York we probably got 2 inches of snow overnight but apparently there’s more on the way through Sunday. I think it’s also supposed to get windy but so far so good

I’m driving from Virginia back to SC later today. Ugh. Hopefully the drivers on I-95 won’t be awful today.

Louisville, Ky here. It has passed through leaving a coating of snow on the grassy areas. It did not stick to the roads though so that's good (probably too much residual warmth). However, it's currently 19 degrees with highs only expected into the 20s, so brrrr. I was planning on going to the St. Patrick's Day parade, but with wind gusts, they're calling for sub 20 wind chills. No thanks.

Rain changed to snow at about 6:45 here and it's sticking. This will probably be my county's biggest snowfall or at least my part of thr County. I'm more worried about when the wind really picks up.
At least it's on a weekend. Stay safe and warm everyone!

I doubt it it’s the same storm, but we had 3 in of snow in Texas yesterday. Thankfully, no ice. But it is warming up the rest of the week.
Stay safe, everyone!

It's been snowing here since about before 6am. Right now the roads are covered and visibility isn't great. It's supposed to keep snowing, at rates sometimes reaching 2 inches per hour, until at least 2 or 3pm. We are also supposed to start getting wind gusts later of up to 45 mph. (Which doesn't thrill me as we just lost 2 trees at the beginning of the week due to wind----one tree fell and crushed another---, and I'd like a break from worrying about that until we get a tree service in here to look at a few others, but alas, Mother Nature doesn't consult me on these things. ) Local businesses are closed or closing and our St. Paddy's Day parade has been postponed.

My brother and SIL were at a wedding near Harrisburg PA, left last night at 9:00 and drove all night to miss the snow. They stopped in NC and will probably drive home to Atlanta later today. I admit to nagging him a bit about leaving early; I was really concerned that they would get stuck.

Our rain has turned to snow now. My neighbors have been planning to drive to Richmond today -- 2-ish hours under normal circumstances -- and they asked me to walk their dog this afternoon, give her dinner, and take her for an after-dinner walk. I'm always up for a dog fix so of course I said yes. But...I think they're nuts. I didn't tell them that of course but I-95 is a crap show any time of day or night in any weather, never mind in a storm. I'm hoping they don't get stuck somewhere.

Raining in CT right now; turning to snow soon. We're not supposed to get too much snow - only a few inches. But the wind is supposed to be wicked.

Its hella windy in Richmond and sleets for a while, then rain, then just wind. It seems to be snowing all around us and we have to go to Stafford today.
Fingers crossed 95 keeps it together!

Pocono Mountains in Northeast PA….we’ve gotten about 5” in the last three hours. 16” predicted. I manage a B&B and we had a meteorologist check in last night, said he wanted to report from “the heart of the storm”. I made sure he wasn’t Jim Cantore before I took the reservation, lol.

Pittsburgh suburb. We got about 8 inches. Maybe a little less. It must have been windy sometime overnight because there are snow drifts on my windows which I have never had before! I think we are mostly done. In a couple days it will be near 70! lol Welcome to spring in the Northeast!

East Tennessee - we got 6ish inches, which is A LOT for us. DD 18 and 15 and I were scheduled to go to Orlando today .. but our flight was cancelled. DH worked all morning on switching our travel arrangements to fly out Wednesday. I'm a little disappointed, but at the same time glad bc the temps in Orlando will be better (Weds - Sat) than our original plans (Sun - Weds).

We probably got about 3 inches of snow here (just west of the Potomac) with a nice layer of slush to go with it. My college dd's are headed into DC for a concert tonight. They were hoping it would be cancelled bc they don't want to wait outside in this awful cold and wind. But no such luck! I made some bread and soup. Happy snow day food!

I was supposed to fly today... yesterday my flight got pushed from 12:15 to 2:10, then this morning it was fully canceled. Now I'll be leaving tomorrow instead, and while it sucks to lose a day of vacation, I don't want to travel in unsafe conditions! I'm in NYC and the wind here has been gusting like crazy all day. It was raining heavily this morning, now it's snowing. Earlier the snow was falling sideways.

We’ve had numerous white outs here and the wind is horrible although it has kind of stopped for the moment. Not sure how much snow has fallen probably 4 to 5 inches
