As for putting off calling your doctor when you have something wrong with you, I have a silly trick that I use whenever I have to make a phone call that stresses me out. I put on a pair of heels before I make the call, then close my eyes while talking to the person. This makes me feel like I am back in my office and that makes me handle things no matter what. I was always an excellent employee and supervisor and never let anything slide because I didn't like doing it. I find putting on heels like I wore at work gives me that "work mode" feeling again. I have actually made important phone calls while standing in my kitchen in a long flannel nightgown and heels! Silly? Totally. But it works for me. I love this! Me too. I am going to start putting on my heels for some of the phone calls I dread. workingclassdog Regaining lost traction on good habits (for example, when I stop exercising) is as hard for me as kicking the bad habits. It's so easy to play the pretend game and ignore, but you did a hard thing today in messaging here and taking that first step. I admire you for that.

Can you set some type of daily reminder on your phone or somewhere? My DH has a daily reminder on Alexa every day at 8 pm to put in his eye drops. He takes gobs of meds every day, but for some reason needs a reminder to put in the eye drops. Could that be of help to you? I did do that for awhile and it helped.... although I started ignoring it to.. I would turn off the alarm and say I'll get my med when I get up.. and forget.. I own up to my own stupidity... I think another thing is that I am afraid I'll walk into the doctor's office and just get reamed.. and I'm embarrassed to face her. I hate myself for this. Anticipation fear is always worse than fessing up! 🧡

Is there anything that you always do downstairs before going to bed? If there is, can you somehow tie it into the habit of taking your med. It could be as simple as a note on the door that you see when you lock the door at night. Just something to cue you that it’s time for the medicine. Maybe after dinner is over, take it as soon as your done with dinner clean up.
