Each year, we do our taxes a little later than we did before. I think this year was the latest, waiting until early March. Usually we do them mid-February.
I talked to my kids about theirs. One needed last year's info and needed me to help him find the physical copy. He said he filed his within a few days after having that in hand. The other didn't do his until last week!
My dad doesn't do his until early April.

I did mine yesterday morning with Turbo Tax. My situation isn't complicated and I was so happy to get it done and filed!

Ours aren't actually due until April 30th but, yeah, this is the latest I've ever done them.
And, I'm an accountant, so there's not much of an excuse. Well, except it took this long for my kids to get me their slips. The good news is that I got a notice of assessment within 30 minutes of filing and we should all have our refunds by next week.

Finally had my appt with my tax guy Monday. I usually don’t mind seeing him, this year though, oy he was the bearer of bad news.

I am done. I think I messed them up, but cannot figure out where. I’m getting a lot back this year, no idea why. Well, if I did, the IRS has 7 years to come get me. Hopefully the fines won’t be too bad if they do!
Since I’ll be 61 next year, I think I’m going to try to find one of the free senior center helper people next winter/spring. I cannot take this stress again 😆😵💫😜

My dad was a CPA and did mine until he died when I was 29. I loved to just be able to hand them over to him. Your kids must LOVE you! Then my husband did them for all of our marriage. Then I had a CPA do them for me for 5 years. This is the 4th (and probably last) year I’ve done them on my own. I know my strengths. Taxes aren’t one of them 😆

We haven't done ours yet. I know we owe a bunch (DH won in Las Vegas several times and it all added up to way more than I thought) so I am not in a big hurry. They will get done but I won't write the check until the absolutely last minuet. Oh tears, poor poor you guys 😉 I don't think I’ve ever known of someone who actually wins in Vegas. WTG Mr. Mom!

Oh its all fun and games til you remember you have to pay taxes on it. LOL It'll be ok but it is a big damper when you are getting all your paperwork together to drop off for taxes.

I’m still waiting for one more 1099!!! That is so annoying. I think it was after the 2008 financial crisis that some financial companies were given longer to send out their 1099's because of all that was going on. There's no reason this can not be reeled back in. This long period for sending out statements means a short tax season for preparers and everyone else. Apparently in our state, the legislature was a month and a half late getting their budget done last fall and this somehow made it impossible to file a state return here until sometime in February. I understand it has been hard on tax preparers. One preparer told me that the IRS had 10 million manual returns left from 2020 that they still hadn't processed.

Last spring I had to do an amended 2020 return in May, but sent the check in on time for the extra I owed. Months later I got a refund from the IRS for that amount, plus interest. It seems that they still haven’t processed the amended return yet. My sister is waiting on a refund and the return from my mom's estate still hasn’t been done yet.

Finally got my taxes done and submitted. The Fed has been accepted and just waiting for the state to accept also. Phew. Glad they are done. Hope all you other procrastinators are done (or almost) also. Feels good to ✅ that off the list. Good luck to everyone still working on them. 😄

I did ours about 2 weeks ago. We owe $4500 to federal and $1500 to state. Pretty awful.
