My son is being surprisingly mellow. My very, very talkative daughter is at work. I'm going to work on organizing stamps today. I have to make a four hour round trip tomorrow to get a car seat for my son. I'm doing as little as possible today! Has your dd needed any accommodations for work? Ds is going to volunteer this summer to get work experience without the stress of it being laid to work on social pragmatic in a work environment.

Has your dd needed any accommodations for work? Ds is going to volunteer this summer to get work experience without the stress of it being laid to work on social pragmatic in a work environment. She got the job through Vocational Rehabilitation. They schedule her for three days a week. She's done four when they've had staffing shortages, but it's not ideal. They try to schedule her so there's a break between days or two days and a break.
When she first started, they wouldn't schedule her for Fridays and Saturdays on the same week because they are busier and she would get a lot of anxiety not wanting to mess up and have people mad at her. She mainly did packaging and shelving bakery items in the beginning. She will now take cake orders. I'm not sure how long she's been doing that, but it took a while because she doesn't like talking on the phone.
It's been a process, but starting next week she will be Friday, Saturday, and one other day a week. She also got a raise because she's been there three years!
I've had to intervene a few times to speak on her behalf. The management has been understanding. We've been really lucky with this employer. They have hired people with disabilities for many years.
There's a co-worker I will sometimes talk with or she may ask me some questions if she sees me in the store. I don't tell my daughter about it because she is very independent but her maturity level is not that of an adult. Anyway, it helps to have a good relationship with others where she works.

I still really need to order March photos. I have a lot of events I want to scrap in there.
Not to mention all the other months' photos still waiting on me.
About a week ago I spent a good chunk at M's with a gift card. Bought lots of paper, and a couple packs of stickers.
But have I scrapped since then?
No. No I have not.
I really want to dig in.

Peas!!! We went to a family baby shower on Saturday. The hostess has three poodles. I figured they would be kept in another room. When everybody, started to leave, they let them out. I was sure my son was going to get mad and freak out a bit. He's never been a fan of animals, BUT he hugged them, he LAUGHED and he smiled. He's the type to give people dirty looks and rarely smile unless he wants something. I got an awesome screen shot from the video where he is hugging the dog. Bonus, I didn't break out in hives, get itchy, or have my nose get stuffed up after petting them.
One funny thing; my husband's cousin and her husband recreated the Welcome to Schitt's Creek sign and you can clearly see it on their mantle in the screenshot. Anyway, now I can use the few pet scrapbook products I own. I'm going to find some Schitt's Creek quotes to throw in there as well.

Forgot to add that I cannot find my two acrylic blocks I have had forever. I bought them from the now defunct Provo Craft website. I use them often too! I decided to use a stamp pad with a clear lid and it's working better than the blocks! I usually use the platform, but I was stamping in my planner.

refugeepea That is so awesome that you were able to capture great shots of your son hugging the pupper! I know for me, getting shots that I never thought I'd get are better than all the ones I anticipate.

My random: I had to move all my scrapbook stuff into the basement for family reasons. Most of my albums are now fairly inaccessible, or it'd be a major PITA to get to them.
I left my printed photos, paper/cardstock, embellishments, and tools more easily accessible.
My new goal is now to figure out a new rhythm of how I will scrapbook, and where to put layouts once I make them.
I can't scrap in the basement, so I'm hoping that I can pull together kits, and work at the dining room table when opportunities present themselves.
After needing to pack up everything so suddenly, and filling ten 18 gallon totes, plus a three drawer Sterilite storage unit, I'm putting shopping on hold for the foreseeable future, other than very specific embellishment or sheets of paper (like graduation, for my teen this year).

LavenderLayoutLady - I'm sorry about the inaccessibility of your albums. Can you store finished layouts in Iris cases (or similar) until it's easier to get to the albums?

My scrap space is kitchen and living room. My son took my card table to put together a giant puzzle in his room and I finally got it back. My albums are in my bedroom and works in progress are in the living room.
My random: We rarely eat dinner at our kitchen table and I don't care. I have a great view of the TV from my scrapping spot.

I finally placed a huge photo order. I hadn't ordered photos since Thanksgiving. I'm hoping I will find some mojo before I have to pack up all my stuff to move.

Got to go to the LSS on Thursday. Picked up the Spellbinders Hot Glimmer Foil set of sentiment plates that I had seen on their website. She had just one or two available and didn't want to take a chance on missing out on these. Had decided not to get any more than that until the crop (April 29-May 1st) when there is a discount. But... She also had Nested diamonds hot foil plates from Pinkfresh with matching dies. I don't have diamond border shapes of anything--stamps, dies, embossing folders--so of course I grabbed those too . Excited to hear that her order of 49 & Market Sherbet is scheduled to arrive within the next week. Hope there is some left by crop time at the end of the month!

Sounds like you have a good LSS, you're very lucky! I am currently really into Spellbinders, Pinkfresh, and Foiling, so a perfect combo!

I'm out of the freezer today! I hadn't shopped in 5 months. I didn't make the choice to freeze - I just wasn't loving what was out there or I had already bought what was out. I bought a bunch of Simple Stories on www.cheapscrapbookstuff.com/ with their DEALOFWEEK coupon code which is 25% off Graphic 45, SS, and Spectrum Noir this week. They also have a FREESHIP code today only but I ended up with more stuff and a better deal by using dealofweek. I'm excited to have all my goodies coming my way after so long!

The time has come. Critical mass has been reached. This room needs to be cleaned up and things need to be put away. I have new toys and supplies I want to play with, and detritus from projects I have finished. And pages to go into albums...
I may as well use this operation to get organized for the LSS crop next weekend.
Okay I have a goal. Now I just have to start...

I've started packing up my scrapping supplies for my move. Once I am in my townhouse, I know I'll need more furniture/tables in my scrapping area. I am thinking it's wide enough to create a sort of island with a couple of tables. But, then I'd have to walk around them to get stuff from the other side. I will have to experiment before I head to IKEA.
Does anyone else have an island in their craft area?

I will have to experiment before I head to IKEA. Does anyone else have an island in their craft area? sort of ....I have 4 cube units (each 2 wide, 3 high - they are the smaller cubes from Target not the Kallax) back to back - so 3 high, 4 wide) in the middle of my craft room. I plan to put a topper of some sort on them and use them as a cutting table for sewing but right now they are just storage (fabric, books, and so on). I also have my treadle sewing machine at one end of the island - it makes a T shape I have all the 'need while sewing' stuff in the sewing desk though and all my 'need while scrapping' stuff within arms reach of my scrapping table so I'm not up and down and walking around the island regularly. My albums are on the Kallax 'behind' the island so again - not a regular need to reach and I put the wider aisle on the 'front' where my sewing desk and computer desk are and where I walk to reach the scrapping area at the end of the room.

mikklynn, I stand to scrap and have two facing counters that I step between. If I had more width in this room I might want an island with storage underneath. Then I could just walk around it to get access. There were some Peas who were discussing scraproom design a few months ago. If you start a thread on this and label it organization you may get quite a few ideas.

As I am packing up my scrapbooking stuff, I am purging anything I didn't even remember I had. I found a bag of chipboard and about a dozen little patterned scissors. I thought I purged that stuff years ago!

I thought I purged that stuff years ago! I don't envy you the job of clearing out your scraproom for your move, but glad you will have a place to play when all the dust settles. As we age, more and more, every day is like Christmas morning--oh! I have THAT! What a SURPRISE!
In my cleaning/organizing last week I opened the iris container with chipboard from Creating Keepsakes days. I had forgotten completely about that CK box I just HAD to have at the time. I was looking for lettering for a wall decor project; found that, and then pulled out a couple pieces i think I will be able to use this next weekend at the crop and some blank cb I am going to try foiling. Thought about purging the rest, but ended up sliding them back into the bin and back onto the top shelf--beside my decorative scissors caddy that has survived a couple of major purges in the past and will survive this one, too .

I got a photo order in the mail today - when I was cleaning my computer scrapbook files recently, I found the journalling I had typed up for this event but when I looked, I hadn't printed the photos. So I ordered them and they've just arrived. Not sure if I'll get to them today - today is a housework day but hopefully sometime this week. grammadee - do you know if anyone's doing a weekday crop this week? I'm considering taking Wednesday as a scrappy day but if there'a crop on a different day, I'll rearrange.

If I weren't planning to be packing up for the crop I would joint you. I will prob pack on Wednesday, load on Thursday. That way by the time I have unloaded and set up on Friday I won't be completely exhausted. Tomorow I have errands to run and housework to do.
